A a metal fan I can understand why some don't like this version. It's totally different of the metallica version and to be honest, James' voice suites this song very well.

Cliff Burton (the original bassist for Metallica) was initially trained in classical music, and that had a heavy influence on much of the band's songs.

The fact that this song's been covered by many people of different styles, and always sounds amazing is a credit to the writers, and they probably recognise that and appreciate it. It also allows more of the world to see the talent that James and Lars have as artists and writers, which any real fan of the band should be happy about, whether they like the cover or not.

@671kmn The proof that they liked it is that it was on her commercially released album. You can't just release any cover you like, it has to be reviewed and approved by the original writer / performe. So not only did Metallica like this cover, they profited from it.

Also, why the fuck wouldn't they like it? It's the same song, with a different, fantastically talented singer. I'm not really sure what the problem is here, bands cover other bands all the time, INCLUDING METALLICA.
