  • is less ohms better or more ohms better?

  • @redneckfun69 less ohm gives louder sound, more ohms gives clearer sound

  • Good vid but how do I do it to two subs

  • "more than likely, at home, you'll attempt to do it with these strippers."

  • is it impossible to wire in parallel if i only have 1 sub and it is single voice coiled?

  • @x1ofakind1x impossible..

  • i swear if someone cant figure this out on there own... lol

  • congradulations. you probly just made 300 audio shops richer by showing everyone parallel. to put it in easy terms. switch it. negitive to positive. positive to negitive.

  • he split the signal and boubled the ohms real series wireing will only reduce the ohms-and take the wattsdown for the second driver coil so try it both ways

  • SAID IT WRONG MY FRIEND IT IS PARALLEL

  • thank you for the help man video helpd alot

  • This guy can read my mind. He's a freaking psycic too.Even when i'm not thinking anything there he go's and answers for me.

  • @unstablekyle You can turn off captions dude... see that little box with an up arrow in the lower right corner of the video? Hover over that and click the "CC" button that pops up.

  • Why bother with cheezy imported wire-cutters when you have your teeth.

  • he is right. it is a 2 ohm dvc speaker. if you wire it on series the ohms will raise so it will be 4 ohm. and if you do it parallel it will be divided so it will become 1ohm. RESEARCH BEFORE COMMENTING.

  • If you are going to give noobs tips, be correct on what you say because you are wiring it in parallel not series dumb ass

  • i recommend if you have a truck, just run a gas powered 5-10kw generator in the back to run your audio system, it's not like you're gonna hear it. then just bridge multiple PA amplifiers running off 115VAC.

  • 1ohm loading.. omg -such quality reproduction we are aiming for.

  • Why would someone who was deaf be watching this?

  • @Lytesson LOL!

  • dis guy sucks at evry video hes in

  • when i wired up my head unit the truck didnt have any wire to connect the wire that holds the head units memory. what can i wire that into to keep my head unit holding memory

  • just run a wire to the positive on ur battery

  • he may know audio but not alot of electronics, he wired it in parallel not series.

  • he actauly wired it in parallel..........

  • dude that is totally a parallel connection... some much for the experience

  • he isnt hooking the sub up in series it's in parallel.series doubles parallel halfs

  • When bridging a single woofer to a two channel amp that has a dual 2ohm voice coil, you'd be better to SERIES the coils to get a 4ohm load, a resistance that any bridged amp configuration will handle optimally. Also, I'm sure he initially meant to say that he's going to parallel the coils together. Also, be careful about running a woofer @ 1ohm into some mono amps because certain ones won't run stable at 1ohm and will go into thermal protection quickly.

  • the amp should tell you if it is 1 ohm stable

  • Amps that are rated for 1ohm will give a rating at 1ohm. Right now in my truck I have a Punch 300.1 amp, it's not 1ohm stable. I'm going to be upgrading to a Power 500.1bd, it is 1ohm stable.

Also, to put it very basic, to figure the final load of parallel connected coils, you'd divide the impedence load by the number of coils. Series, you'd multiply the load by the number of coils. 2ohmDVC series ( 2 * 2 ) = 4ohm. 2ohmDVC parallel ( 2 / 2 ) = 1ohm.

  • totally agree

  • why does everytone try to dog on him. hes an expert and so what if he says bridging on parallel it all means the damn same

  • somebody translates in english plz

  • speaker make boom boom

  • Oh !!! thanks now i understand better.

  • haha i really hope your being sarcastic...... ohh that would be soo sad if you wernt

  • how do u dont get this i know more then this

  • dude im fuckin confused

  • does this also applies to all subs? 8", 10", 12", ect. ect.

  • It doesnt matter what size, and 12g wire for subs is as small as i go.

  • hookin up a dual voice sub, does it matter what gauge wire I use? could I use a 16?

  • dumb ass thats called parellel

  • not when when you talk speakers!

  • yes, when u talk ANYTHING that involves resistance

  • Sorry, for that lame ass answear. i dont who wrote it. i think i might have forgotten to log out of any public computer, i like speakers and stuff, but i dont know anything about "pararells"

-morten, the real owner of the account.

  • Guys, it's not that hard to follow. Thanks for the video, man. Just take the principal of hooking up one coil, But hook that up twice and splice the two wires together. There's no reason why someone with limited audio experience should not understand this guy.

    Thanks again

  • ching chong mann

  • this doesnt even help me fuck you man postive postive my ass

  • loser and i still dont get how u hook one cord to the amp and yet there another to cords that dissapered

  • take the two positives and run a wire to both then another piece to the amp then repeat with the negative side if you go to rockfordfosgate(dot)com and pick any amp there is a section that will give you a diagram

  • what if it has more coils??

  • dont know if they make them but remember when wired in series the resistance simply adds, in parallel its: Rtotal= 1/(1/Rcoil1 + 1/Rcoil2 + 1/Rcoilnth)

  • Don't you mean wiring the voice coils in parallel?

    Bridging doesn't happen to subs

I would like to see this video is closer detail though, I'm a little confused as to how to wire the voice coils in parallel with the wires coming through the enclosure
