  • Wow, they recorded the world war 2? Amazing.

  • i love the old ships .. i was on vacation in england this year and saw the HMS victory ... thats a darn bloody nice looking ship

  • I love the way the foreign haters posting on this video have no answers to my posts so they try and change the subject in some other insulting manner. I mean why would someone who hates Britain so much come and post on a video that celebrates being British.... are you stupid?

  • They need to make more of these movies. They are epic!

  • Hitler even said, if he couldnt break britain in the air then he had no chance of invasion. America was the driving force which kick started the end for germany. But we held our own at the battle of britain, against all odds our spitfires and hurricanes battered the Luftwaffe back each time they came. In the news recently new evidence has been found from hitlers journal from before the war and he said he wanted to be allies with britain because he knew he wouldnt be able to break us in the end.

  • Then came the nazis and the japanese, and Hornblower had to swallow his words

Too bad the americans saved your arses so you couldn't learn a bit of humility

  • @PatriaOMuerte I think you need to brush up on your history, America never saved us. Russia did more for the cause than America

  • @PatriaOMuerte If the nazi's had conquerd Great Brittain, then even the americans weren't able to liberate Europe. Even not together with the Soviet-Union. Without the guys of the R.A.F and the homeguard, the third reich was still a fact.

  • @duvel60 keep telling you that. If not for the american supply and the german invasion of Russia you would be eating fische mit kartoffeln now.

  • @PatriaOMuerte Agreed that we needed the american supply and help to defeat the germans, but it isn't certainly all thanks to the american's. Do not get me wrong i don't underestimate their part in the war.

  • @PatriaOMuerte Germany never invaded russia .. russia kicked hitlers ass ... very hard .. russia contribute 80%

Never forget the EASTERN FRONT ..

  • @PatriaOMuerte And if not for Britain holding out and defeating Germany both in the air (Britain), on land (El Alamein) and at see (Atlantic) then we would all be fucked whether we ended up Communist or Fascist.

  • LONG LIVE OUR QUEEN!!!

  • Haha Britain sucks ass now.

  • @Drunkkid69 debatable, still one of the worlds powers, and we don't fuck up every war we go into; unlike America...

  • @joshwakeman Haha America has done really well. People think America is a perfect beacon of light that knows every correct decision. Its just another country in the world that just happens to have a lot of people and resources. Its also very hard to keep a country occupied for a long period of time. Takes a lot of effort on part of the military. Yeah Britain is still a great power, correct. But its open door immigration policy isn't a good thing and will take it down eventually.

  • The guy's acting is so hammy...I LOVE IT!!!

  • This is still one of the best pieces of scene-chewing I have ever seen! Robert Lindsay put an unmistakable stamp on the role of Sir Edward Pellew and made the Hornblower miniseries a delight to watch.

  • France and Great-Britain the 2 superpowers of Europe bote has dominate the world for an time

    importanest differences : -french : french/british :english

-british love their royal familie/ french has cut their head of

  • One of the best shows ever!

"A frenchman is still a frenchman, and we shall beat him as we always have beaten him!"

That got the crew cheering hehe

  • It is actually hilarious because Napoleon didn't even make war on Britain it was the other way around. They gave gold to the other powers to attack Napoleon. Napoleon lost the war and Britain claimed all the glory even though they did nothing.

I don't mind Britain just the monarchy although I think the republic and Oliver Cromwell were so BA.

  • @vidman163 You have a shaky grasp of history my friend.Napoleon lost the War because all the nations of europe banded together and attacked him from all fronts.Britain gave gold to other nations thats true but we bled the French army white in Portugal and Spain withe the help of of our allies in the region.Ever hear of the Peninsular War?You should read up on it then come back and tell us that Britain did nothing. Not to metion the Battle of the Nile and Trafalgar.

  • @vidman163 The Republic was a dark age for England Oliver Cromwell & his puritans where our version of the taliban! What's to like about them?

  • @vidman163 Ahhhh, the ranting of a delusional idiot who knows nothing of history or how nation states work. Without the Royal Navy the French would have had a free reign on world trade as well as great flexibility in conducting their campaigns. Additionally, the British Army in terms of armament, supply, training and leadership defeated Napoleons best Marshall's in Spain, Portugal and France. The British were crucial to defeating Napoleon's Empire.

  • @Talbot6832: Oh no Britain actually did something for one land campaign. As if everyone else with a fleet didn't use it.

  • pigs of shit live argentina!!!

  • what era is this set in?

  • @sesdelta38 This particular scene came from a story set shortly after the Revolutionaries executed King Louis; right after if not during 1793.

  • @sesdelta38 1790's-1815

  • 'We will beat him as we always have beaten him, for there is no power on earth that can withstand the might of the British Navy!' hahaah brilliant! take that you froggy bastards!

  • @goulby ..yess..! this is for patriotic american pigs too!!!!

  • @gatolocoverga152 , "There is no power on earth that can withstand the might of the United States military". Now go quietly into the night..........screwing yourself. You inconsequential nonentity.

  • @Bligh1780 Yes there is, it's called global economics and your shit out of money, haha

  • I read the book Sir Midshipman Hornblower...it was a very intresting book

  • @expertstrategy war of the first coalition 1792-97 france declared war on Great Britain and the Netherlands on 1 February 1793

go and check your ass again

  • England at war? He clearly says Britain.

  • vive l'empereur!!!!!

  • I love these patriotic Englishmen! lol, wasn't that the guy from fantastic four?

  • Yes.

  • @TheMaccdog YES. He is a Welshman, Ioan Gruffudd, which is amusing when as Hornblower he talks lovingly about England. Apparently he was furrious when the series got cancelled and still harbours ambitions about reviving it!

  • This happy breed of men, this little world, This precious stone set in the silver sea, Which serves it in the office of a wall, Or as a moat defensive to a house, Against the envy of less happier lands, This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England

  • Respect to our UK allies. I just wish there weren't so many American morons on these videos embarrassing us all.

  • Which are the Americans in the video? Are you referring to actors??

  • No, I was just referring to the observation that so many videos relevant to Britain's history seem to be loaded with comments from ignorant Americans. Maybe the it's the same on American videos, I don't know. But I feel we ought to have respect for one another.....

  • I can't vouch for my fellow countrymen but I have never seen it within my interests to post on a solely American themed military/historical video.... ever. US military history does not interest me for one and secondly... what would be the point?

  • @ persus8pegaus... I kinda get what you're saying. I don't agree with monarchy from a philosophical standpoint, and if I were creating my own nation from scratch today, it sure as hell wouldn't have a King or Queen. But at the same time, I'd take offense to some dumbass foreigner talking s*** about the UK's head of state.

  • @Wibblywoo12345 It is very English of Americans to be so... American. The English were warriors, and they gave this trait to Americans - I think.

  • Basically, we like nothing more than attack. I literally feel it burn in my blood when I think another man besmirches an Englishman, or England. I have to fight it because I am not racist and I am a totally loving person. I even get ridiculously angry with people who disrespect the Queen, but I am not a royalist AT ALL. I honestly think it has been bred into us. Englishmen are warriors, they are always waiting for someone to fight. It's like, put us on boats, we'll go bayonet fucking tribes...

  • I mean, how crazy is that? I despise the Queen, on principle... but if a French bloke or Spaniard had the balls to call her a douche, I'd literally beat on the fool.

  • I wouldn't even think twice about doing violence, if it was for England. I am otherwise a complete pacifist but I would kill for this generally stupid little country. I can just feel her history yawning, like everything I do is for her.

    I'm probably nuts.

  • Captain Sir Edward Pellew is the best!

But I liked his speech at the end of 'The Frogs And The Lobsters' more.

  • " a frenchman is still a frenchman and we will beat him as we have always beaten him" ???

hey rosbeefs, remember the hundred years war ?

  • But that was only because the English were outnumbered by about 8 to 1.

  • For the first 70 years of the war france lost battle after battle. the hundred years war was lost by brittish nobles arguing in court and a weak and peaceful king henry 6th allowing it to happen.

  • You mean the war that France mostly lost? You mean the war that resulted in the practical extermination of your ruling class? The war that had the English hopelessly outnumbered in nearly every battle yet still came through winning.

  • "A FRENCHMAN IS STILL A FRENCHMAN AND WE WILL BEATEN HIM AS WE HAVE ALWAYS BEATEN HIM!"

This is all so very true. God save the Queen.

  • "A FRENCHMAN IS STILL A FRENCHMAN AND WE WILL BE HIM AS WE HAVE ALWAYS BEATEN HIM!"

Best quote ever and so true.

  • Go Ioan! Go Hornblower!

  • God bless the Royal Navy and the Royal Marines.

  • yes yes yes

zum beispiel U-47 in scapa flow ;/;/;/; and ark royal ;/

  • At least our war was mainly on the surface not sneaking about in tin coffins. And it was the Royal Oak not the Ark Royal - one was a battleship, sneakily destroyed at anchor, the other the aircraft carrier that played a significant role in destroying the Bismark. Hooray again for the Royal Navy whether against the Spannish, French of German. Rule Britannia.

  • Be glad that war is over for more than 60 years turaj1! very silly comment!

@rascal: who are the French of German(y)?? The French are usually from France. Nice chaps! They have good cheese.

  • We know the mighty power of Great Britain. Winning Falklands War UK helped my Nation (Argentina) got rid from the bloody militar junta that rule Argentina. God Save The Queen and thank you Maggie for your help.

  • wow, I have an utmost respect for you for that, Its the first time i'v seen someone look at it that way, very enlightening

  • @velurtasgustavo eres un sucio traidor a tu patria y a los argentinos que dieron su vida en esa guerra, vergüenza para ti, perro servil de la puta Albión

  • @PatriaOMuerte Looks like you have some kind of anglophopbic inferiority complex. Take your Spic ranting elsewhere. I seem to remember Spain ended up Fascist and watched while the free world nearly succumbed to oblivion. War dodging pussy's, you have no ground from which to launch your argument.

  • @Talbot6832 War dodging? Inferiority complex? We fight our own wars, you fight the american's ones, since the end of WWII you have been America's lap dog, such a pride to depend on what was once a colony of yours, so servile.

And let me say that you are not even good at fighting for american interests, remember Sangin? Brits can't hold a damned province and they have to transfer it to the real warriors: American marines.. Rule Britannia my ass

  • @PatriaOMuerte Funny, Your "real warriors" american marines and special forces still recieve training from Brtains own

  • @PatriaOMuerte Lol... you have no answer to my post so you bring up a completely different time frame? You're a stupid troll with a massive inferiority complex - you must have it written across your forehead it's so obvious.

  • @velurtasgustavo yes we are a great power hope the relations between our country gets better and better

  • @inTHEwrongGENERATION

At least ou're honest enough to admit you are in the wrong generation.

  • @MrIrishscouse When did I admit I was in the wrong Generation?

  • @inTHEwrongGENERATION

The clue is in your username.

  • @MrIrishscouse Oh I thought you meant i had personally told yes I wish I was rather Born in 1960's when Music was Amazing when football was Amazing for fans I mean I mean soccer if your American and when the MOD seen was on if not that Generation I would have liked to have served in the Armed forces in the Times of Britain's empire

  • @inTHEwrongGENERATION

I was referring to your comment about being part of a great power from 6 months ago. I was questioning the wisdom of wearing that as a badge of pride given the records of great international powers throughout history.

  • @inTHEwrongGENERATION

By the way, as someone who was born in 1970s i would agree totally with your comments about music and football, so we're at least on the ball so to speak on that one.

  • @MrIrishscouse yeah my dad was a MOD and followed Chelsea every where I was born in a era where music is mainly shite and Chelsea is full of glory hunters

  • GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!!!

  • we english are the best and always will be the best we have conquered the world and had the whole world against us and still won we are the best

  • Yeaaaaah rock on!!!!!

  • 'A Frenchman is still a Frenchman!' :D

  • 0:51 - 1:01 sums up 1000 years of Anglo-French relations in 10 secs. Quite literally, the next-door neighbour from hell...

  • The British are so awesome.

  • And we still continue to kick the french in the nuts!!!

  • god bless great britain

  • To quote Orson Welles:

"In Italy, for 30 years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, bloodshed they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did they produce? The cuckoo clock."

Tell me, what intellectual, technological or cultural achivements of Switzerland put the British to shame? I can only think of Rousseau and the army knife.

  • Johnny b good, there are more, a helluva lot more but then your unstable education system over there leaves a lot to be desired and your ignorance of other lands proves this sad fact. As for Orson Wells, hardly a wealth of knowelege on history or much else for that matter now was he John Boy? If that is who you look to for historical facts then all I can say is...suffering sucitach

  • Heh, I know plenty about other lands, but there's not much to actually know about Switzerland. To be honest I doubt many people outside of Switzerland are keyed up on its history given how minor a state it is. It would be a waste of time.

But since i'm apparently ignorant, please enlighten me. What Swiss philosophers, inventors or scientists put the likes of Newton, Darwin, Locke, Babbage, Brunel and Dawkins to shame? These British scum couldn't have been significant, right?

  • I guess the truth hurts sometimes

  • Hold on old boy. I wouldn't go so far and call the British "scum". Freeloaders and chancers maybe.

  • Freeloaders? You realise what we did for all the countries we conquered, we sorted out disputes (India and Pakistan) we introduced education in many countries.... And we erm took slaves.. But atleast we got rid of the slaves before any other major country. And why should we learn about Switzerland? Not only is it a tiny little country but it's not even part of the Eu and has been neutral in almost every conflict. There's nothing to learn.

  • who?

  • Look at the dude behind Hornblower, at 0:07.

    XDXDXDXDXDXDXDXD

  • the French invented the bayonet,

the English taught us how to use it.

  • Eh totally incorrect on both points me old codger

  • The USA hates the EU, the EU is about a Europe re taking the helm of the world

  • Very patriotic, as almost all the UK historical series. Although, Hornblower is a great series of this period.

  • Rule Britannia!

  • Britannia rules what exactly?

  • He's referring to the song, "Rule Britannia", which mentions the might of the Royal Navy. It says that England ruled the world's oceans.

  • This speech is just amazing, simply amazing!

  • Why thankyou NCISCF

  • It never ceases to amaze me how many Anglophobe's out there think its within their best interests to spout their jealousy on British dedicated videos. Do you not realise how obvious you are to work out? Atkinsmustache, it's okay to be jealous, Britain is an astonishingly successful nation. Now go pound your fists on someone else's gate.

  • Err, I most certainly am not an anglophobe. I am quite proud that the US saved Englands butt in WW1 ad WW2 and all through the Cold War too. I mean think of the Dunkirk British retreat and D-day when the US lost three times more troops than the British protecting Europe. I feel Britain to be one of the many little Europen countries that I am proud the US saved.

  • what a sad child you are. have you never been to school? or maybe you have - we've all heard about the American education system. how many times must I explain to you mindless idiots...Europe owes its freedom to a combination of Russia and the UK (Russia primarily). Battle of Britain + the Battle of Stalingrad are the two pivotal points in the war. All the US did was speed up the process. Oh, and id like to mention that your own sefish public holds a huge responsibility for the start of the war.

  • I could have sworn to have witnessed flickers of intelligence in the shiney eyes of a gorilla at a zoo once but alas no such luck from your comments jiyttwit. Yes Russia played a huge role in WW2 along with the US but Britain, come on! Stop dreaming you lumpy custard brain. Now step away from the teacup and read a good history book or two on the subject.

  • LMAO. OH GOD YOUR FUNNY. IS IT REALLY BAD? the US education system, I mean. have you never heard of the Battle of Britain? how do you think the US were going to fight a war in Europe from the N.A continent? ignorant fool. you are a child, and with every comment you humiliate yourself more. why do you think Winston Churchill is often referred to as the saviour of western liberal capitalism? no wait, i'll stop, you don't understand words with over three syllables.

    go ruin the earth again.

  • Ruin the earth you say? Balderdash, the USA has brought the world forward in every way imaginable. You can argue this and that all night but at the end of the day you'll find that the USA is the true saviour and protector of freedom and justice. You little euro countries have huge ego's and little to back up your claims to greatness. USA!

  • Justice you say. Is torture justice? Is supporting dictatorship freedom? My dear sir, have you heard of something called the patriot act? That's not freedom.

And what about the EU. We have come together, several countries has united to form a union. And that with our diffrences put aside, the US is still oppressing their native population whilst we are embracing our past and history. I am still waiting to see this "freedom and justice" of which you are talking about.

    Please present proof!

  • Finger pointing are we old boy? OK lets play that game. Now let's see, oh yes the Chinese Opium War where the English royal family persisted in sellng opium in China against the Chinese govenments will. The Dutch and French adheared to the law and stopped opium dealing there when the law was changed but not the English, oh no. Lets look at Australia and New Zealand shall we? OK then. The genocide of the native peoples and their forced "re-education" by the English and Irish. I could continue..

  • Proud of your empire? Remember that at the height of the empire London had the biggest slums in Europe. The uneven distribution of wealth in Britain was legendary. Yes a small minority of people benefited from the empire, the royal family, their cohorts and some criminal businessmen and women. Sadly, the majority of the British public lived miserable existances in dire poverty and pestilence. Still, I suppose it offered a good supply of men for the navy and army where many died from disease

  • yeah, but then. Who died and made you spokesperson of the US? And what the hell does Australia and New Zeeland have to do with the EU?

And so, to all of the wars. Do you know how the talibans came to power in afghanistan?

And please, tell more of you onsided history of the world. It is so intresting, the only problem is that you are leaving out those things that are not compatible with your cause...

oh, and btw. let's all thank the US for the economic crisis.

  • Aus and NZ has little to do with the EU but we are disgussing how the peoples of Britain were (and still are) dominated by a criminally corrupt and unjust group. The tories and "royal" family are a particularly nasty bunch. If it wasn't for the USA Britian, and those other little euro countries wouldn't even have an economy, remember Marshall Aid? Lend lease? and a whole lot more. The USA has it's faults but they are small compared to little insgnificant pip squeak countries like England.

  • If the US hadn't been draged into the second world war. the US wouldn't have an economy with such capaciity which it has today. And wath the US sugested was a tradeagreement betwen the larger european powers, something that France among others fought against.

And if the royal family is corrupted, what about all of theese "special intrest groups" and the seperation of church and state which is not followed. So, i do belive that the royal family is to be preferd.

  • Atkinsmustache. You, sir, are a philistine and a thoroughly ridiculous individual. I think the USA is a fine country and I condemn those that deride it, but even though I agree with you on that matter, I find your petty insults toward Great Britain somewhat malevolent and misguided. Please refrain from further nonsense spouting.

  • Yes you are great. Any country that cals themselves "great" is an embarrassment to themselves.

  • I'd have thought that stealing the gold of Jewish victims of the holocaust would be more of an embarressment, but I guess that's just me and my stupid British values like tolerance and respect for all human life...

  • British values you say? You are asking for it aren't you pal? Let's see now, oh yes, there was a fantastic show of British values during the Indian starvation when the (upper class) British stole their food to export for profit causing the murder of millions of Indians and a lot of British military personnel too due to disease for the profit of the small wealthy upper classes. Then there was that wonderful British value called dirty money, the money made dealing opium to China. Ireland anybody

  • They also stopped the international slave trade at great expense to their industry.... does that count?

  • I'll give the lime that but still though

  • The Opium Wars caused by the "Great" British. The French and Dutch stopped dealing opium to China when the Chinese government banned it as it was destroying so many lives causing such misery. The "great" British however continued drug dealing and even sent many's the young British man to die a nasty death during the Opium Wars in the name of profit but not for the British public mind you. The profit was enjoyed by the tiny upper class after paying their dues to the "royal" family of course.

  • I'm not denying that Britain has done some bad stuff over the years - all countries that have had power have. But then it's colonisation was no way near as opressive as many European nations, and it's also brought the world a lot of good things such as medical, intellectual and technological advances. It may have done more bad than a lot of places, but it's also done a whole lot more good.

For instance, UK gives the most foreign aid out of any other country atm. Look it up.

  • Besides which, recent history is more relevant. Britain sacrificed it's industrial power and empire to stop Nazi Germany when it could have sat back let Europe be dominated. What did Switzerland do? Oh yeah, bend over for Hitler and assist in the holocaust in return for stolen gold. Don't throw stones in glass houses mate, because your country hardly has a glowing history and hasn't contributed anything particuarly good to balance it out like Britain has .

  • By the way, nice work on finally granting women the vote more than 50 years after everyone else did. Just evidence that it's quite a socially backward system you got over there. Do you still burn witches as well? h

  • Twaddle, absolute twaddle.

  • Heh, that's the best response you can come up with? Mate, accept it. Britain's heritage is by no means perfect, but it's a damned sight more inspiring than that of Switzerland. The greatest contribution of your country is the cuckoo clock. Britain has contributed far, far more intellectually, technologically and culturally. It may have done some bad stuff as well, but nothing as bad as profiting from Nazi war crimes and refusing to apologise for this great injustice.

  • I'm just wondering why you even care about Britain anyway. What inspired you to even come to this video if you believe the British are so ethnically inferior? Can it perhaps be down to insecurity on your part, that your country is largely ignored by the rest of the world and has an extremely boring, uneventful and dishonourable heritage? Or perhaps you're just pissed off for defeating your Nazi allies in WW2?

  • Now there is absolutely no call for that kind of talk Johnny boy. No call at all sufice to say Switzerland is a wealthier, safier, cleaner (by a long shot) healthier place than Britian. The uneven distribution of wealth I witnessed on a vacation there recently upset my grandmother so much she retired to the hotel early. How do you account for the sorry state of affairs in England John, I mean with all the poverty and all?

  • Not to mention the conservative social culture. I still can't get over how late you lot accepted that women deserved the vote.

If I had to live anywhere in Europe Switzerland would be right at the bottom of my list. That's not to say it's a bad country or that the Swiss themselves are bad people. I'm sure most of them are very nice. But it doesn't have the heritage or culture I personally value.

Pray tell, why do you harbour such intense hatred for us lowly Brits?

  • There is no hatred in this old heart o' mine only a frim grasp of reality old bean

  • Of course there is - why else would you randomly hunt down a youtube vid on Britain then start slagging off the British and using semi-racist terms against them? There must be some reason you hate Britain in particular since you clearly don't think historical injustice is relevant when it comes to evaluating Switzerland. Why even pay us subhuman scum the this meager attention, why not concentrate on your fellow Swiss Ubermensch?

  • By the way you still haven't answered my question. Do you still burn witches over there? I'm genuinely curious.

  • Only if they act like your girlfriend Johnny me old son

  • The avarage Swiss citizen has a far higher standard of living than the average lime. If you lot are so damned fantastic how can you explain that eh? eh? You can't can you? No you can't

  • Heh, 'standard of living' is an extremely subjective value. From what i've heard despite Switzerland's wealth it's an incredibly dull place to live and extremely repressive social conformity. This would explain the fact that Switzerland has such high rates of suicide.

Besides which, Switzerland is only wealthy because it used stolen Jewish gold to finance itself as a banking nation. Personally, I'd rather be poor than have dirty money. But maybe the Swiss have no conscience.

  • This is hearsay, there is no proof to back up your, frankly ridiculious, unsubstantiated accusation. Where did the Jews get the gold to begin with, if it is indeed Jewish gold as you saay? Taken from the mines of poor old Africa by a step up from slave labour. Hang on, ever heard of the British East India company? Didn't they use similiar methods to steal wealth from poor nations? I think you'll find they did. And just where did the lime "royal" family get such wealth? Chinese Opium dealing

  • See there you go again, denying the historical embarressment of your own country whilst emphasising that of Britain. As I openly admit, Britain did act badly during the colonial era. But it treated colonies a lot better than the Spanish, Germans or French did. Given the cultural context and how distant that history it, it's not something to be too ashamed of, not like capitulating to Hitler so recently.

  • THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO DISCUSS POLITICS

This is the place where we look at Pellew and marvel at how hawt he is.

  • Great Britain DID provide Opium to China at a time when there was only one import allowed in the country. Given that was the only market allowed, is it surprising to anyone that a mercantile nation decided to provide it?

  • The limey sold opium in China against the laws of China. Don't embarrass yourself by attempting to deny it. The opium wars were because of this. Then all the deaths in India due to the theft of their food by nasty lime. How can you people show your face? You probably think mass murder is cool or something.

  • Boy, I think you might be retarded. India AND China both committed horrific atrocities at various times in their history. There is nothing special about British horror stories, except for perhaps success.

Like I said earlier, and perhaps I need to stress further. Why did Britain provide opium? It certainly wasn't out of evil nature, it was just a market that hadn't been tapped yet, in fact, the ONLY market that China allowed the British to trade in. It was simple, bloodless capitalism.

  • So that's why the Opium Wars occured, because the lime were allowed to deal opium. Interesting....interesting like a plane crash! You live in a world of denial and self delusion. I suggest therapy old boy.

  • Any country that wont join the EU over pride is an embarrassment to themselves.

  • Yes the EU is a very good thing. Again it was the USA that was behind that too. The USA influenced Europes politicians behind the scenes to join together. A United States of Europe. The USA puts people first.

  • If the US put the people first, how come that the election aren't proportional? A president can be elected even when a majority of the people voted for someone else! THAT IS NOT FREEDOM NOR IS IT DEMOCRATIC YOU BONEHEADED TWIT!

If you really are from Switzerland, you should know how a democracy is suppose to work. Your "version" is the most democratic system there is. As oppose to the amercian version where some people are forbidden to vote! (please don't drag up the swiss women vote)

  • USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I hardly think the Electoral College means the United States is a dictatorship. You are the only bone-headed twit on this post, my friend.

  • The US is not a democracy. The United States is a Fedral Constitutional Republic. Which means we have a strong central government bound to a constitutional document headed by elected officials who are supposed to represent the people in said government. Most people in our country are ignorant to this or just lazy (fedral constitutional republic is a mouthful)so they just say democracy. People in th UK do the same thing. They're technically a Parlimentary Constitutional Monarchy (mouthful).

  • You lot are really getting good milage out of that Bush mistake aren't you? By the by, talking of mistakes, has that illegal arms dealer Mark Thatcher been locked up for his war crimes yet? He sold arms to Iraq after the embargo was placed and only a week before the first US invasion. What a nasty piece of work he is. Something tells me he walks the streets on London a free and even respected (by some)man.

  • The USA wasnt behind it, it were the europeans themselves that started it. USA politicians influence Europe to join their hateful wars on thw world yes. The unipolar USA-world is coming to an end. The EU is good so we can stand against the USA.

  • are u swiss need i say anymore

  • in world war 1 we did perfectly well enough to hold back a massive well trained army with just a tiny brittish army and a untrained russian army

lets not forget u sold things to the germans and only joined in for a bit of glory in your otherwise empty war trophy room
