Prince Nuada is not an Evil Character! He is a good character in a situation that has forced him to extremes but who can blame him?? Who would really want to see the giant TREE ELEMENTAL (The last of it's kind) perish, knowing there would never be anything else like it? Prince Nuada is the Consummate Anti-Hero of all time. He represents the Elves of The Lord of the Rings without a Valinor to sail off to and must instead co-exist with mankind which is definitely not an easy thing to do.

He is the prototypical representative for Camelot and the Lord of the Ring etcetera.....

Put him in the position of a human trying to save the world from evil Elves or Aliens and suddenly he's not a "Bad" guy anymore. In my perception this is all of the nobility and honor in the Elves of the Lord of the Rings wound up into one Character. Put this Character into The Lord of the Rings and he would have been helping the Hobbits and shredding the orcs. He may be an Anti-Hero but still good

I dont see Nuada as a tragic character or feel bad for him. He lived his truth fully without holding back. He didnt fail because all anyone can do is live there truth failure is based on desire not truth. In the end he was right all Hellboy did was stall the end of the world where Hellboy himself will help bring. Failure is based on not accepting yourself and not living that truth.

Thanks... yes, the opening & closing are from the semi-animated comic Mignola did for the movie, kinda like the online HB comics. I think it was a promo/storyboard/prototype for the puppet scene. The whole clip is on YT, search for Hellboy Prologue. I personally like it better than puppets =]

En mi opinion, Nuada no tenía porqué morir. Simplemente, si Nuala hubiera avisado a Hellboy que le estaban atacando por detrás... Seguramente, Nuada podría haber vivido con su hermana, no se como, pero... T_T

es triste estar solo, pero nuada es un personaje incompatible con cualquier otro. sus aspiraciones le exigen estar solo. y sí, estoy completamente de acuerdo con chezzita, no es el malo malísimo que quiere el poder para dominar el mundo, simplemente quiere buscar un lugar en él para los suyos, y sí, yo haría lo mismo en su lugar. por eso creo que hellboy no tiene final feliz. porque las cosas seguirán como estaban y se seguirá cometiendo injusticia contra los diferentes.

no es por nada, pero si no yega a ser xke la tontaina de nuala se suicida, nuada abria maxacado a hellboy,en fuerza estan igualados pero el principe es muxo mas agil. En combate la fuerza bruta no lo es todo.

A mi personalmente me da pena el final de nuada, es el "malo" de la peli si, pero realmente el no kiere el poder, solo defiende su mundo, a su pueblo, y quiere recuperar lo que era suyo y los humanos estamos destruyendo, a caso no ariamos nosotros lo mismo x nuestros semejantes??

Thanks! I felt the deaths of all Nuada cared for, were central to shaping the story & his character. To me, it was the most striking message of the movie, but I felt it got upstaged by all the action...
