This is a great song. There'll always people who don't like something great. Those people are the 18 dislikes. I just don't know why someone could not like this song but that's my opinion.
@WildBill6942 Oh,I had heard that one member of this band died a few years ago but I forgot what year and how he died. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
I love August Burns Red, The Devil Wears Prada, The Word Alive (metalcore bands)...but seriously, as a kid my dad would play this and I loved it...as a HUGE (i mean fucking HUGE metal fan) i can say i love this...Blackhawk rules.
She must be related to my ex. She sold one of the houses she stole from my in the divorce for less than half of what it was worth just to pi&& me off.
Saw these guys at Country USA in Oshkosh, WI...one of the best acts of the closing day, better than Lady Antebellum....it's sad to watch how many people flocked for that country-pop crossover crap and ignored such a great band...
@GNRAxlRose88 I couldn't agree more! It is sad people flock to see these "country" acts (like Lady Antebellum & loads of others) that are really just crappy pop. On the brighter side, I don't foresee many of those acts having much staying power.
@TheJer1963 THE LAME ASS JUSTIN BEIBER (WHO ONLY I HATE WORSE IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY THAN ANYONE ELSE) JOKES ARE NOT GOING TO CHANGE HOW I FEEL ABOUT THESE ASSHOLES. YOU OR YOUR SPOUSE GET SNUBBED FOR AN AUTOGRAPH DURING A AUTOGRAPH SESSION RUDELY AND KISS THEIR ASS JUST CAUSE THEY MAKE GOOD MUSIC.
Blackhawk had many great songs from the 90's through 2005. This one is one my personal favorites. Honorable mentions go to "I Sure Can Smell The Rain," "Down In Flames," "Big Guitar," "There You Have It," "That's Just About Right," "Like There Ain't No Yesterday," "Postmarked Birmingham," "Every Once In A While," & their tribute to Van Stephenson, "Ships Of Heaven." All these songs highlighted a career worthy of the HOF. RIP Van, and thanks Henry and Dave for keeping the music alive. Kudos!
there is no other country band that can harmonize like they did these day's, maybe other then Little Big Town. what happen to good solid country music like what we had back in the 70's, 80's, and 90's????
@nibornna The same can be said of all genres of music: it was better before 1999, not after...
Rock music: the best so far was in the 50s-90s.
Country music: 60s-90s (at least for me ^.^)
Pop music: 80s-90s
Rap: 80s-90s
Classical: 70s-90s (that's 1670s to 1890s =P)
If there was a genre of music that survived Y2K, I haven't heard it... I blame auto-tuning, the total lack of talent, and Britney Spears (can't actually link her to the tragedy, but she was popular when music started to go to shit).
@Truthiness231 I mostly agree, but everyone knows that rock and roll died in 1974. Country music went to shit in the late 90s, but Red Dirt country really took off about then and is going strong today. If you want true country music and country/rock music turn on the Cross Canadian Ragweed, The Great Divide, Jason Boland, Pat Green, Reckless Kelly, Bart Crow Band, Kevin Fowler, and many more
@miniredreward Classic rock died in the 70s. Rock itself didn't die until the 80s (Queen, Rush, Guns N' Roses, and while I myself am not a big fan of this particular direction of rock: AC/DC, Black Sabbath, and Def Leppard). And even then all of this is subjective; some people found the "rock" bands of the 90s up to today as "good" (granted, we clearly disagree with them... but at times I can't help but think we're just relics, the same as our [grand]parents complaining our music wasn't music).
My dad listened to Blackhawk a lot when I was little, and it was one of my favorites. I don't think I knew what it meant, but I called it "the lipstick song." And, what, fifteen years later, I still love Blackhawk... and now I actually know what the songs are about.
@stillwaterseven I apologize. It was the backup singer, not the lead. However, he died from skin cancer back in 2001, and ever since then the band has fallen out of eyesight. They even tried replacing a few members, but enjoy limited sucess. It is a darn shame. This band would have made it far.
great song but if this was my woman i woulda been hard pressed not to hit her and i was raised that that was the single worst thing a man could do ...
