  • lol "...Sabbath duties."

  • does anybody know what's the name of the village? It looks very beautiful and peaceful.

I wish I could live there.

This telefilm was broadcasted also in Italy in the Eighties

  • @GG2873 cutting and pasting : o the Manor Born was filmed on location in Cricket St Thomas, Somerset, and in a studio

I wonder if they have tours of various places they filmed these old English programs. I would love to take one.

  • Miss you Mrs. Poo and Brabinger! They should have gotten married, too. :) Or maybe Mrs. Poo had a fling with Old Ned. . .

  • Its a shame that this series is unavailable on streaming services, but thank you for presenting it here!

    Great TV!

  • Actually , Audrey ______(maiden name?)'s "roots"and heritage are undisclosed so far.

She 'arranged' to marry the departed Martin fforbes-Hamilton, wanting the Manor she has said.

  • @ProNorden In later episodes she talks about her childhood at the Manor and if I'm not correct in the plot summary it says that she was a fforbes-Hamilton who also married another fforbes-Hamilton. I assumed they were cousins (not sure how distant) who got married to keep the Manor in the family. I don't think Audrey ever mentioned if she loved Marton or not....

  • Audrey's maiden name is fforbes-Hamilton, her mother's maiden name is Hartley

  • I do like how his mom tells him off.

  • Thank you sooooooooo much for uploading this!!!!!! :D

  • I love how she walks with her nose in the air.

One of my favorites is the finding of the old fireplace mantel. I hope it has been posted. If anyone knows....

  • this was always fun to watch i do like the conflab between the different characters

  • Some of the first series was actually shown during the final weeks of the ITV dispute of 1979, which is why the ratings went up.

  • i do enjoy this series very much but please what was the itv dispute of 1979 id realy like to know as i was to young at the time

  • The ITV network of companies had gone on strike from 6 August 1979 until 24 October 1979 due to a row about the amount of pay which technicians were awarded for producing programmes and also for using some new technology, but the technicians refused to work and so the edition of News At Ten shown on 6th August was stopped at 2207 hours and then consequntly the strike spread to the rest of the ITV network except Channel Television.
