  • How sweet and precious is this ! My husband had brought home some apples, I just didn't want to peel them , don't have one of those new fangled thingys haha I'm now peeling while watching again:) It made me tear up and miss my grammy and call my mama who's 80 to tell her I love her :) LOL This is the kind of realty show our kids nowadays need to be watching :) Peeler $29.95 Apples from the back yard $0. Family time together PRICELESS... Luv it !Hug Nanny for me I want to be adopted toooooo :)

  • nasszone,

Nanny says those used were golden delicious. They came out of the backyard. However, we have found Rome work well. Whatever you use make sure they are firm because they cook up.

  • jodyjo10,

Nanny says add a small amount of water but be careful or you will get them too soupy.

  • When you start cooking the apples down.. Do you add any moisture to the apples and heat??

  • I smiled all the way through this video such a sweet family it's like watching a loving version of the golden girls so cute! I love it. Best recipe for apple butter I've found thanks for sharing

  • I believe those were Golden Delicious. They came from a tree out in the back yard. You can use pretty much any kind. Another of our favorites is the "limbertwig" apple.

  • What kind of apple are thoes?

  • Thanks for the kind words, DanceHallDiva. Mom is pretty amazing. I wish I knew just half of what she does about life. We're hoping to do another video soon. Stay tuned.

  • This America is what family is all about...learn young folks while you have the opportunity.I can remember growing up as a child being in the kitchen with my grandma, mom, and aunts and soaking up all that wisdom an loving those times...God rest their precious souls.Thank you MontanaBarnWell for this priceless video and may God bless your family!

  • I wish I would have done this with my Grandmas! I try to make it like they used to and it just isn't the same.

  • I was making honey butter today and while browsing other things I came across this video. It definitely made me smile and I needed it because I needed to be reminded of what a family is supposed to be like. Mine is distant and shaming compared to yours but were all still alive so perhaps there's time to fix that. Thanks for sharing.

  • Nanny you're awesome!!!!

I was looking to see if anybody made a good video for apple butter - you're IT! The crew is wonderful - it looks like your family is very close = )

One Question... I want to make pumpkin butter also & wonder if it is possible to combine cranberry & pumpkin for a mixed butter, & if so - HOW? LOL

I figure since my grandma isn't here to ask, maybe you will adopt me & give me some advice.
