Lilys acting is actually pretty good! She was pretty good in Abduction, and i couldnt pick anyone else to play Clary if i had to....but im really disapointed Alex Pettyfer isnt playing Jace....thats just plain disapointing...
I like her for the role as long as the dye her hair so she's a light redhead. As for the person they've landed for Jace, they better make him blonder.

A) Cassandra Clare probably chose Lily Collins herself as she is the author of the books + has the image of Clary in her head, B) You haven't seen the movie yet to judge, C) They will probably alter her looks slightly and people saying she's like 'girly' - well, actresses act, so - she would have to be like Clary. WHY DOES HOLLYWOOD THINK THAT THEY HAVE TO TURN EVERY GREAT BOOK SERIES INTO A MOVIE !?! Seriously? Can they not just be amazing as books? I love this series and hate to see it get ruined like Twilight did. (Not that the Twilight movies are bad, cause well, Taylor Lautner ain't so bad on the eyes, lol, but I can barely stand to read anything out of the books without think of Kristen Stewarts horrible acting) Idk... I just wish they wouldn't do this.....

@rachelford2068 Duude, the Twilight books are horrible by it's self, though yes, the movies make the books look even worse. But I like it that they're going ot make a City of Bones movie, 'cause the book isn't that horrible. So I bet the movie isn't going to be all that horrible (:

I think Ariana Grande should be Clary from City Off Bones because shes 19 and Clary is 16 other than some 21 year old playing a 16 year old. Oh well it all lies in the acting.

im very sorry to say and it kills me to but Alex will not be playing Jace T-T he decided to take on another novel movie D: that he said he "prefers" more than The Mortal Instruments ;'( to get out the news it would help to like the comment... thx for reading guys and i hope they find another hot Jace lookalike better than Alex (even though its really impossible Dx)

there is this guy in my french class that looks like he could be Jace- for serious. its insane. every time i see him i have a tiny heart attck and think "JACE"!! but alas, he probably has never even heard of TMI. oh well, still so nice to nook at... his name is Jacob. JACob, JACe, i dunno :P

@101Allyouneedislove I haven't read all the books of the mortal instruments, but it seems like the hunger games has a bigger fan base. No offense or anything. I think the mortal instruments might be more successful because of the latest casting news for the hunger games.

I absolutely ADORE both books, but TMI seems too be moving a little faster for the movie production of it. But, lately, more people are discovering this series and it is growing in popularity.

Can people shut the hell up about her being wrong for Clary? A) Cassandra Clare probably chose Lily Collins herself as she is the author of the books + has the image of Clary in her head, B) You haven't seen the movie yet to judge, C) They will probably alter her looks slightly and people saying she's like 'girly' - well, actresses act, so - she would have to be like Clary. Just saying, don't judge so easily.
She seems perfect for the role IMO. She's gorgeous and seems like a good actress. :)
