  • How cool about your dad writing the lyrics! Very nifty indeed. I hadn't heard this since very many years ago. I remember it well.

  • This is the best.

  • I've looked this for about 40 years and now was able to play it for my grown kids. Still so great! Hahahaa

  • best belch......ever!

  • Definately Homer and Jethro.....but you got the words wrong......"All at ONCE there's a fat guy in a clown suit..." I heard this in the early 50's, and have listened to this classic piece many times....Give credit to the artists, and do not forget Sir Friedrick Gass, the "burp artiste"......

  • Love the video...but there were a couple typos. And how come Homer and Jethro are not credited here?

  • The Homer & Jethro version! I like it better than the version with Minnie Pearl!

  • Still funny after all these years. Great job on the visuals...

  • My dad, Eddie Maxwell Cherkose, wrote the lyrics for this wacky classic. Spike wrote the music. I'd love to see his name at the end of the video!

  • @caseyplace I would like to see your Father credited also, he must have been a genius...I loved this as a kid in the long ago 1950's....Made it hard to listen to the Opera after this version!!!

"La Comedia e finite!" No shit? when does the tragedy start???

  • @caseyplace hi aunt casey! tis be kylie!

  • @caseyplace -- Your dad also wrote "Alto, Baritone, and Bass" for Spike Jones. He gets lebel credit for the vocal, as well (as Eddie Maxwell). Does he really sing on this, or is that a typo?

  • LOL, Khatchaturian

  • Love this song, knew you were going to put a picture of itchy and scratchy in it. :D

  • The vocal refrain on this song is done by the famous country duo Homer and Jethro, who went on to have a successful career with country parodies.

  • Oh god I think I am going to wet myself laughing. I have wanted this song for ages.... Oooops I have Ha ha ha

  • Love The Jones. Was raised on Cocktails for Two and My Old Flame (with Peter Lorre imitation: "I saw this eye. . . so I removed the other eye. . ." Outstanding.

  • I had this on an old Spike Jones album but it was sung by a woman.

  • @rainbowcan -- Yes, she was Betsy Gay. The re-make appears on the LP, "Dinner Music for People Who Aren't Very Hungry." Check the YouTube video "Spike Jones - the Hi-fi Shop" to see Betsy sing this on a TV broadcast!

  • I love this! Thanks.

  • Wow great song. It's one of the rarest Homer and Jethro songs. They hardly get any credit for it. I would love to see the Spike Jones show where they actully song the song
