  • Coconut oil is an amazing product to use in the hair, especially in natural hair. Make sure though that you are using real coconut oil. I really like Emerald Laboratories Coconut Oil, because it is 100% pure coconut oil that has not been processed. It costs around $14 for 16oz. Another good one to use is LuAnn's Coconut Oil. It costs about $4 for 32 oz. It works just as well as non processed coconut oil. The only thing it lacks is the natural coconut aroma. Some may like that about it though :-)

  • @SweetAsThe1stKiss weree can you buy th louAnn's coconut oil ? iWant the pressed one.

  • @claudia97765 Sorry, I'm just seeing this. You've probably found out by now where to get it, but incase you haven't, it's available at Walmart on the same isle as the vegetable oil.

  • @SweetAsThe1stKiss where can i buy the luanns coconut oil?thanks

  • @missindependent610 Sorry, I didn't see this reply earlier. In case you haven't already found out, it's available at Walmart on the same isle as the vegetable oil.

  • As many of you have already mentioned, the product she used in her client's hair was NOT coconut oil. The product Eboline Coconut Oil is essentially petrolatum with a few added ingredients. Here is the ingredient list that I found for the product: petrolatum, coconut oil, parrafin, lanolin, olive oil, fragrance, fatty acids, vegetable oil, vitamin E.

  • It looks like most of it ends up on her hands, not in the hair. Also, I don't think that's real coconut oil - more like a conditioner with coconut oil extract.

  • Coconut oil is a solid, if its a liquid, its to warm, derp -.-

  • This lady has no clue what coconut oil is.

  • I am a new subby and a convert to coconut oil, thanks.

  • Did she say "Liquidly" at 0:21??? ( o_o )

  • I do agree that coconut oil may be good for the hair however you must know that what this woman is/was using is NOT real coconut oil. Most likely is just coconut scented petroleum oil or something of the like. Real 100% pure organic coconut oil can be purchased on Amazon from reputable Natural product brands like Nutiva, Barlean's and Nature's way. I would recommend the solid version. You can get it for as little as 15$ for 2 15 ounce tubs. Free ship Great for cooking as well.

  • You can get it at any GNC coconut oil and yes it is the extra virgin oil. 16 oz for 12.99 that's not bad at all.

  • coconut oil is amazing on all hair types. use sparingly on dry hair for moisture or saturate the hair and leave on for 30 min - overnight and then wash out for an oil treatment. it is best to use organic virgin coconut oil! you can find it at health food stores like whole foods or vitaminshoppe!

  • Is this how salons save on money when buying products for their shops by saving and using as little as possible but overcharging for certain services? most of the coconut oil ended up her hands! what a ripoff.

well, atleast their hands are well moisterized.

  • @lovesickangel7788 she doesnt wnt to way her hair dwn thts yy

  • is it ok to use on 'white hair' or will it make it too oily??

  • @bejofanatic1 i use it on my hair as a deep conditioning before i shower. then wash it out. then after i straighten it, i use a very TINY amount to moisturize

  • Very informative..You can also go to iherb.com put in code ED0541 to get $5.00 off your first order. This sight has amazing prices on all essential oils and hair products for chemically treated and natural hair **happy window shopping**

  • @AmethystosNovusOrdo Thanks Soo Much ! (:

  • @coolioatreyi Whete do they sell it? I live in California , do you know if they sell it over here?

  • @XLILSTARBABYX Also, if you eat 4 to 6 tablespoons of it a day, your health will increase dramatically. Go ahead and do the research yourself with google :)

  • and what's the best coconut oil called??

  • Where do you get coconut oil??!?! I've been lookin for it and never know where to buy it. does anyone know any drugstore I can get coconut oil?

  • @XLILSTARBABYX there is a brand called parachute it sells the best coconut oil (i tried it my hair which is already black became silky and the color became richer ) but i dont know if they sell it where you live

  • @XLILSTARBABYX you can just go to a health food store or a vitamin shop for coconut oil.

  • poor customer, she is geting tortured

  • shiittttt ..yyyyukkhhhhh

  • i thought she was going to snap that lady neck

  • She is way too rough with that woman's edges

  • @amaximc Finger combing is more delicate than using an actual comb. She is not being to rough in short.

  • this is not how you do it.i have coconut oil but i do not put on my coconut oil when my hair is dry. Because that will juss make it greasy.THE PROPER WAY IS: Wash your hair really good. Comb your hair. Then grab your coconut oil and rub into your hands and put it all over your hair and scalp and ends. Put your hair up in a bun for an hour. (do not wrap in towel Then after that, wash your hair out.you dont have to use conditioner and all that because you still want the coconut oil to be in their.

  • the lady's hair is gorgeous

  • @terrinyc29 Yes I was so busy looking at how to put coconut oil on the hair and not at the head if hair. This lady hair is so silky smooth and beautiful. Great on her hair!

  • @MsPeoplesgirl lol, I know what you mean. I had to watch this vid three times, I didn't notice she was not using 100% CO until I read the comments or how to put CO in the hair. I was distracted by the lady's hair

  • I actually let my coconut oil sit in warm water for a minute so that it liquifies. I use Dabur Vatika Oil (it's got ayurvedic herbs) - if they don't sell it locally yo can get it at Lakshmi's Cupboard (an online store).

  • She gone pull that lady's edges out!

  • I am referring to the ones insulting one another. I am not talking about folks telling some about what pure coconut oil is and what is not pure.

  • Go to Vitamin Shoppe and get Nutiva Coconut Hair Oil. You want it to be pure...that one she is using is not pure...I used it when I was a kid...thinking I was doing something great but I wasn't...go to Vitamin Shoppe Nutiva Coconut Hair Oil is great! :) Softness without the greasy feeling that that particular label she was using does!

  • Coconut Oil can be used to control hair dandruff??

  • this lady is dumb!

  • You can get most natural hair products (essential/carrier oils, aloe juice, leave-ins, shampoos, etc) on iherb.com. Just got aloe juice from there. It's a really good website. This time of the year they also have great discount and they have a flat shipping rate of $4 but depending on the weight of your order, you might as little as $2 for shipping. Here is a coupon for you ladies and gents to use for $5 off: ARU392 (this is for first time orders). Many people can use it.

    Happy New Year 2011!!

  • @mohaghanyfarrjones LOL@PILE it on my hair like gel. I have beautiful hair, sweetie. I'm raw/vegan and KNOW the benefits of coconut oil and use it DAILY. I just clicked on your name and you have a ton of insulting comments laced with more foul language, insulting people. You are pathetic and this doesn't surprise me. You tiresome old cow, don't you have anythng better to do than argue with people that you don't know? You need a friend. LMAO I can't believe all those angry posts. I feel sorry 4 U

  • @mohaghanyfarrjones It's too heavy to wear in your hair and after it breaks down it stinks. So I can only imagine what you walk around looking and smelling like. LOL And a face full of pimples to boot!

  • @mohaghanyfarrjones And who am I talking down to? You have an inferiority complex. Probably WISH you were a stylist yourself huh? Otherwise I don't get your attitude. I saw you post on another vlog, whinning about someone else that didn't agree with you.

You sound like some angry dysfunctional ghetto chick that's mad at anyone that has an opinion that's different than yours.

  • @mohaghanyfarrjones Wow your command of the English language is astonishing! LMAO I doubt anyone would read a book that you wrote unless they are of the same foul mouth caliber as you. But write one, make videos yourself. Show me your hair. I'll post a picture of my hair that I take care of. I have a great knowledge myself and my clients have HEALTHY HAIR. Not all stylist burn hair out or have a bunch of relaxer clients running around. But it's obvious you don't have a clue about that.

  • @mohaghanyfarrjones I haven't conntributed to your damaged hair in any fashion. My clients DON'T have damaged hair. That's why they're my clients. You have control issues and can't even control your language. You have no idea what you're talking about. The fact that you walk around with heavy oil in your hair daily tells me that. Your hair probably doesn't even produce natural oils anymore because you clog your scalp with artificial substances.

  • To treat hair one uses pure extra virgin food grade coconut oil. Not hair grease. And should be used BEFORE the shampoo and then shampooed out. Doesn't matter if the hair is wet or dry. But real coconut oil spreads like crazy and must be shampooed out. But it's the best treatment you can do for your hair and scalp.

  • @Bychance37 Maybe for WHITE/EUROPEAN hair...but for everybody else, coconut oil can & SHOULD be left in.......Besides if it's washed out, that defeats the purpose for putting it in you hair in the first place. A little goes a long way, it strengthens & thickens hair tremendously.

  • @mohaghanyfarrjones Wrong. I'm black and a hair stylist, I use this treatment on my clients as well as my hair. Not sure if you even know what I'm talking about, but it is impossible to leave the type of coconut oil that I'm refering to in anyone's hair and be able to style it. It must be shampooed out, it's heavy, oily and spreads. In fact even when people use it on their skin they wash it off because it spreads and runs from the body heat and does the same on the scalp.

  • @Bychance37

PART 2 of 7: A little goes a long way, a quarter sized amount rubbed on your hands then through the hair is ENOUGH.

Nothing can thicken hair? That statement tells me right there that you don’t know WTH you’re talking about & your knowledge of hair is limited to “Bonita’s Bumper Curl Beauty Salon”. There are MANY common herbs (and ayurvedic herbs) & botanical oils that can not only thicken hair but speed-up & stimulate hair growth AND darken/prevent gray hairs from ever returning.

  • @mohaghanyfarrjones Umm Hello? I didn't say that NOTHING would thicken hair. I SAID OIL WOULDN'T THICKEN HAIR!!! Nothing you put on your hair topically after it's grown out will change it's thickness because it is DEAD. You can only mantain it. You need to READ instead of trying to be right. You can't tell me anything. LOL

  • @Bychance37 PART 4 of 7:

Oh & Stylists “dress & accessorize” people, you’re a “beautician”. I’m annoyed at ghetto beauticians trying to adopt the term “stylist”. HAHA@ trying to go all “Hollywood” on us. You are a beautician & the things that I know (and many other people on Youtube), are not taught in “Canella Beauty School” I know this for fact….

  • @mohaghanyfarrjones Isn't it funny that the term GHETTO keeps coming out on your end? Maybe because you are ghetto yourself. Go Hollywood? I live in Los Angeles so what does going Hollywood mean? Only people that have never been to Hollywood use that tired term. LOL WOW! I am a stylist sweetie. Jealous? I don't do even ghetto clients as you put it. Funny that your only view of a salon is a ghetto salon. Maybe that;'s all you're use to. In fact you vocabulary tells me that. LOL@UTRYINGTOINSULTME!

  • @Bychance37 PART 6 of 7:

I have received several messages asking me about coconut oils & other things in response to my first comment. If there is anyone ELSE who needs hair advice, don’t let my barking @ this idiot intimidate you *lol* I am more than HAPPY to share for FREE when I have time. Alopecia, stress-alopecia, eczema, psoriasis, female/male pattern baldness, & gray hair can be CURED with simple topical herbal remedies.

  • @mohaghanyfarrjones HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA @ the oily head, oily face- dirty hair/scalp and face. Probably doesn't have any hair AT ALL. Broke off, dead or dying ghetto foul language spewing and totally unaware of it!!! Wow you are a clown. Idiot even coming off the tip of your fingers is a joke!

  • @mohaghanyfarrjones LOL@BARKING, yeah like the junk yard dog.

  • @Bychance37 PART 7 of 7:

Knowing this, comments like “Nothing can thicken hair” pisses me off. Because someone with hair issues can read that comment & it could kill their hopes of ever finding treatment. Trust me, ”skankchance37’” doesn’t know WTH she’s talking about.

  • @mohaghanyfarrjones Unintelligent......

  • @mohaghanyfarrjones Unintelligent......and possibly 14

  • @Bychance37

TWO: Due to it’s properties,it is better suited for application to hair strands rather than the scalp. Again, you’re defeating the purpose by “shampooing” EVCO out. Oh and “heavy oils” (like JBCO) need to be mixed with carrier oils like Jojoba Oil. Which is a good moisturizing “dry oil”, meaning it fully absorbs without a greasy/oily residue….Now ponder that

  • @mohaghanyfarrjones I know about carrier oils. Do you think only you know this? LOL. Like I said an absolute clown. Now you ponder that. SMH

  • @Bychance37 ..that doesn't apply to every one, I'm in a coconut oil challenge on hairlista and we are to seal our hair only with coconut oil..I have been doing it and its not heavy unless u put in a lot.. I lightly seal with it and it doesn't weigh etc to my hair...and we also deep condition.. i have retain length shine and strength..I stop going to salons I am learning to take care of my own hair and i have learn a lot and retain a lot ..thanks to hairlista...

  • @dimomdcake Well that's good for you. I hope that you acheive all that you want to. I am not against people doing their own hair. I do my own hair and I know how to take care of other people's hair as well. I can't nor do I want to do everyone's hair, I really don't care what people do with their hair.

I am talking about coconut oil treatments, not wearing oil in the hair. Which I don't need to do because of the way I take care of my hair. And my hair produces it's own oils. Good luck.

  • @mohaghanyfarrjones So I'm not sure what type of oil you're talking about, but obviously it's not the same thing I'm referring to.

Besides oil doesn't thicken hair, either your hair is thick or it isn't and that is determined inside the hair follicle. After hair grows out of your scalp it is basically dead. Everything you do in that respect is maintenance. Not sure why you put oil in your hair, but when I do it, it serves the purpose. Since I know exactly what I'm doing. Have a nice day.

  • i thought ur hair is supposed to be wet?

  • i get white dandruff lookin stuff when i use coconut oil

  • @solarlolax Then that isn't real coconut oil

  • @mohaghanyfarrjones no, its real...pure and organice and all....my sister doesnt get it but i do..its just my hair..not everything works the same way for everyone's hair

  • thank you for posting.. I had read about putting it in your hair, and never would try it because mine tends to get oily quick. Dry ends and oily scalp, ha.. bad combo. :-)

  • Yeah umm coconut oil does come in a solid and liquid form depending on the room temp and umm yes if you can't eat that it is not pure coconut oil :))

  • How does this work on 4a hair?

  • @ChannelOfShaneDawson It is brilliant in 4a/4b hair. Check or sites like Hairlista or sunshyne on here. Works wonders in my relaxed and my kid's natural hair.

  • does this work for white people?

  • @Beckyzzzblog anyone can use it? :)

I have so much coconut and I Love it!

I use it for both skin and hair.

  • Shes gonna rip her head off lol

  • Coconut oil works put not the kind this hairstylist is using. Use organic pure coconut oil. If the bottle has more than one ingredient, it isnt the real deal. Use coconut oil at night, rub softly into scalp and in hair, then wrap your hair. In the morning VIOLA..moisture gorgeous hair.

  • This woman is such a JOKE....who would go to her to get their hair done??? There is only one type of real coconut "OIL" and it is solid but melts when in room temperature o if you hold it in your hand....what she's using is mostly petroleum jelly.

  • that coconut oil has petroleum in it, its the first ingredient on the jar

  • I think that she used very little because it looks like the clients hair was already done. I think that she was just demostrating. I was looking at the coconut jar as well and was wondering if it was the right one. Well I am still learning and hoping that these demo's of hair products will work for my hair without breaking my bank.

  • I just bought some coconut oil yesterday and thought I had the wrong stuff because it look solid, but the second I touched it, it melted. That stuff she used didn't seem to melt.

  • agreed.

  • that isn't pure virgin coconut oil, that's some good old fashion "grease". it's best to get virgin coconut oil the kind you cook with is excellent. I can't live without my coconut oil, it simply melts into the hair.

  • @sheba82377 --Hi- what brand of coconut oil do you use in your hair? If you are so satisfied with it, then you should share that with the rest of us. And if you're too afraid to share what you use, then please don't criticize what others use. You're not playing fair.

  • @FashionedUp Virgin Coconut Jarrow Formula. You can cook with it, also Parachute Coconut Oil, there are so many..........I am playing fair, that's hair grease! petroleum and maybe about 2% coconut oil google that brand and you will see

  • @FashionedUp I think people commenting on the fact that the woman is using hair grease as opposed to actual coconut oil is coming from a good place. I think we all just want to make it clear that one shouldn't go buy the product she's using if you want to reap the benefits & results of using coconut oil on your hair. Using product in the vid is like using Vaseline, something we've all known for quite a while now is damaging. I think ppl are just trying to inform tho it sounds critical from some

  • @sheba82377 Why do you say its not coconut oil ? Could you please explain. I bought a bottle of coconut oil, but it's not solid. Does this mean it's not realy pure?

  • @KookiMonsters the particular product she is using in this video is hair grease. The main ingredient petroleum jelly (vaseline) or mineral oil. The best coconut oil to get the best results is pure virgin coconut oil, found in heatlh food stores and or the grocery store, indian markets etc........real coconut oil can be solid when stored under a certain temp, or in a liquid form as well, it has a low melting point and melts almost immediately on contact. it can also be eaten when pure

  • Comment removed

  • I think this is the same lady that sprayed hairspray in her client's face, hmm.

  • @Papillonmuscogee hahaha

  • The "coconut oil" she's using is solid because it's not pure CO. It's more than likely a petroleum jelly-laden grease that is in the family of thousands of other products that the haircare industry pushes onto average consumers who don't read labels. Pure coconut oil is found online, in health food stores and grocery stores and it says on the label "Virgin Coconut oil" or "refined/unrefined" and the only ingredient is coconut oil. I looked up the one she's using & it is not pure CO.

  • Hmm, does it have to say "virgin coconut oil?" I bought one today and it says 100% coconut oil and that's the only name listed under "ingredients." It's solid, but i touched it a little and it melted in my hand. It has no smell and the bottle says it's ideal for hair and skin. But now reading your comment, i'm wondering if it's the right one..? Does it have to say virgin or unrefined, as long as it's 100% coconut oil, it's good to use...for the scalp n hair?

  • You need to do a real good massage after you put the coconut oil in the hair. The way you did it is not very good.

  • plus she barely used the fake coconut oil, that little bit wasn't enough, lol

  • @brinny776 that is true. She simply sucks at this.

  • thx for the video... but i feel sorry for the expert who doesnt even know that coconut oils freeze easily and become solid ... she thought the brand she was using is solid ..heheh

  • True, pure unrefined coconut oil is always a solid though it melts within seconds when held in the hands before massaging through the hair.

  • ALL coconut oils are solid below 75 degrees, and liquid above that temperature. It does not matter on the brand. Tropical Traditions has an Organic Virgin Coconut Oil specially for hair, with more protein.

  • @TropicalTraditions Actually, it does matter the brand, or should I say - the purity - when it comes to melting temperature of coconut oil. Generally speaking, the higher the temperature of solidification, the more impurities are in it and conversely, you can tell a really good pure virgin coconut oil by the temp it changes from clear to white... the lower the purer/better quality.

  • @gbrade57 "Generally speaking, the higher the temperature of solidification, the more impurities are in it and conversely..." Not true! What is true is that there can be slight, very slight, variations in melting point temperatures based on solids that might be in the oil. Our hair treatment Virgin Coconut Oil, for example, has more coconut solids in it than our regular Virgin Coconut Oil, which adds more protein. But coconut solids can hardly be called "impurities."

  • @TropicalTraditions I bought your Gold Label and I love it!!! It's awesome!! I use it on my face, hands and hair.

  • @TropicalTraditions I thought that you said you can cook with this oil and your family love it? So this is not just for hair its for cooking too right that is what your video stated.

  • @MsPeoplesgirl Not sure which video you are referring to on our channel, but many of our customers do use our Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil for cooking as well as other applications. We have also developed a Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil for Hair Treatment which contains a slightly higher protein content than the cooking oil. Visit our site for more information about these products and our new Organic Hair Oils!

  • @TropicalTraditions Thanks for you quick reply to my question but this Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil you show how the people they do this manually and not with machines. Just thought it was for both cooking and using on your hair.

  • @MsPeoplesgirl Yes, they are both Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil handmade and unrefined in small batches on small family farms. Not by machine. Per the FDA the one not labeled for hair is a food product, but as mentioned above our customers have told us they use it for both. Hope this helps!

  • @TropicalTraditions I have a health food store here in my area and they have the best in health food and organic food and etc. I hope to find your product there. Thanks.

  • @TropicalTraditions I also saw that one should look for extra or virgin coconut oil. Nature's Way has extra virgin unrefined... is this what one should be looking for.....for the hair to grow?

  • @MsPeoplesgirl There is no standard in coconut oil production (as in olive oil production) for "extra virgin." Our Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil is the only brand on the market that is traditionally made the "old" way via fermentation resulting in high antioxidants.

  • @TropicalTraditions My question was just 100% unrefined no other ingredients added but I know the answer thanks. Not making it an old way is not what I was asking but nevertheless thanks. I will purchased some coconut oil.

  • I just bought some unrefined coconut oil in a container and it is a solid type coconut oil and it doesen't have that much of a scent to it but I still don't know how to use it.

  • Cool,I have long hair and I do this and it makes it look really heathy!. :D
