So let me get this straight, Ron Paul supports term limits, but he thinks term limits won't work if people elect others Ron Paul disagrees with? And Ron Paul calls certain arguments 'academic' while waging ideological war with academic arguments? How do you spell w-h-ac-k-a-d-o-o-d-l-e?

@TOOMUCHTlME The reason why Ron Paul supporters think everybody is "dumb" that doesn't join the Ron Paul cult, is because he says things in ways that's simple enough for them to understand. As soon as you actually present co-dependent variables and show them the issues aren't one dimensional concepts, they attack you. The strategy is simple- dumb down the content and call complex rebuttals propaganda. I can see why this guy wants to legalize drugs, that's only way he gets votes.

I'm not a huge Ron Paul supporter (although I do like him more than most politicians, and would probably vote for him) but Lawrence was trying to discredit him, rather than have a debate about issues here. Rand Paul and Ron Paul are obviously going to differ on issues, it's called being a independent thinker. For a Libertarian, thinking for yourself and making your own choices is the entire foundation of what the philosophy is built upon.
As this guy opens about dismantling the federal government, (like its a bad thing). i cant help but picture in the backround a 40 story octopus/mouth monster looming over Washington DC.
O'Donnel is realy a vile and swarmy individual. Such a partisan hack. Disgusting with ZERO credibility. TOOL and Clown. I hope Ron Paul never gives this shmuck another minute of his town. Do you spit or swallow Lawrence when your handlers give you your talking points? This vile piece of garbage treated Peter Schiff even more despicably "Accidental Head"? "Tear Down the government"? This guy is shmuck. Paul's supporters are Patriots.
@LeighMet Regulations hurt ALL businesses for the sake of stopping a few from doing bad things. In free countries, you punish people AFTER they do something wrong. Otherwise, why don't we all have breathalyzers on EVERY car? The drunk driving rate would drop to zero- but no one would agree to that, because they would realize that it's unfair to punish EVERYONE for the sake of stopping a few from doing bad. Here's a better idea- stop bailing out the big businesses after they fail!
@johnsurs22 Note the sacrasm Yes Yes why is it that lead in no longer allowed in lencils or buildings along with abestos? Why dear why are all cars built since 1988 have to have airbags. So people don't die. Why do in offices do we have enough room to move in an emegrency and exit signs that are clear to see? WHy on every cruise ship are there enough life boats for every passenger and crew member. One word Regulations. Whatever you can disout I can serve back to you
@LeighMet If pencils were still made of lead, smart people wouldn't buy them. The government only restricted them after the science came out, the science which all people have access to. Similarly, if you care about your safety, then you would buy a car with seatbelts and airbags, but if you decide not to do that, why should anyone stop you? You have a right to your life. Your arguments don't make sense because smart businesses would keep emergency accodomations for their own benefit
@johnsurs22 You do know that not everyone in this country has access like you and me to a college education and not everyone can afford to live anywhere they want. Also some bussiness men will due whatever they can to simply make one more dollar then yesterday.
Now what about apirport security are you saying you don't want everybody to be searched because that is how bombers traditionally got the bombs on the plane
@LeighMet Kids used to work 16 hours a day because that was a better alternative than what they had. Now that kids are given an education, they don't have to work 16 hours a day. BTW, who provides the education? The states do, just like the states are better for providing any sort of regulation that you might like if you choose to do it. The consequence of your work limit law was that some poor families could not make enough money working less than 16 hours and so they died.
@johnsurs22 NO kids used to work 16 hours a day becuase that is all they had. THey were poor and had to support there families becuase dad was dead hurt or no longer in the picture.
@LeighMet Oh wait but you are for the minimum wage too. That should solve the problem right? WRONG. Then anyone who was not worth the minimum wage didn't get hired at all, and those people starved even faster. Way to go Mr. Regulator; you just caused poverty, massive unemployment, and 9/11 because of your well-intended regulations. Notice that the TSA did not even stop the shoe bomber; it was the stewardess in the airplane after the flight had already taken off. TSA=Ineffective
@johnsurs22 How with regulations did I cause mass poverty when without minimum wage we had mass poverty in the first place. How did I cause massive unemployment because I want workers not to work in dangerous places where they cold be killed. And exactly how in the world did I cause 9/11. TSA didn't stop the show bomber because no one thought someone would be so stupid to hide a bomb in there shoes. And the ineffectivness or effectness of the TSA is another matter
@LeighMet Now only people that are worth a minimum wage get hired. You haven't helped anyone that was being exploited. The reason why workers were treated bad before was because government used to restrict access to labor unions and gave special privileges to corporations. So once again, it's government that caused the problems. Now, the government gives special privileges to both. Here's an idea- have the government get out of the way! 9/11 happened because government stopped pilots from having
@LeighMet guns. They had no chance! And how do you think those kids would have made more money if the government stopped them from being able to work 16 hours? Who said anything about "that is all they had"? I said they needed the money. And with government regulations, they weren't able to get the money. Then you impose a minimum wage, and the kids didn't even get hired because they weren't worth the minimum wage
@johnsurs22 Im sorry I didn't realze i was dealing with a guy who thought that it was good for an 8 year old to spend 16 hours in a coal mine or sweatshop instead of being oh well in SCHOOL.. IF pilots we aloud to have guns on a plane no passenger would be safe. What if the pilot had a very bad day and has a very short fuse. I don't want to be on that plane. Gee how is a 40 wk week with time and a 1/2 for overtime that they negotatied forexploiting them
@LeighMet You didn't give the kid an education did you... you didn't give him that option. You just lowered his hours, which ultimately hurts him. Your point about the pilot is baseless- are you afraid that cops carry guns? I know about the shirt factory- I never argued against having local building codes. How does the police know if someone is drunk? He sees them already driving recklessly and breaking the rules. If landlords violate a contract and lie, then they should be locked up.
Respond to this video... Then again I am probably talking to someone who knows nothing about how this country business werre run in the late 19th and early 20th century. 3/251911 look what happened becuase of no regulations at a shirtwaist factory in Greenwich Village becuase of it
@LeighMet You don't get it do you? If someone does not produce enough to justify a minimum wage, he will not be hired at all or will be laid off. What does it matter that you think everyone deserves a minimum wage? Why would the business keep him if he costs them money instead of makes them money? What do you think happened to gas station servicemen? These are the types of smaller jobs that help people but have been phased out because of minimum wage. Just ask every economist, even the Keynesian
@LeighMet Bubble mongers that Ron Paul hates. Minimum wages were deliberately imposed by white labor unions in South Africa to keep the blacks jobless and create apartheid. Labor unions here did the same for the purpose of keeping their jobs safe and convinced misguided people like you that it was good. Why don't you just raise minimum wage to 500 dollars per hour. Then everyone will be rich right?
@johnsurs22 WELL if you raise minimum wage to 500 dollars and hour 2 thinkgs happen. One thats not minimum wage. Two inflation skyrockets and I thought you were against that. And where does Apartied come into this and what is a bubble mongerts
@LeighMet One I was being sarcastic; I don't actually want the minimum wage rate to be 500 dollars per hour. But what are you basing the minimum wage on? An arbitrary number that you feel is the bare minimum? Actually inflation would not go up. Quite simply, unemployment would be close to 80%, because companies will not hire employees at 500/hour if they only produce 10 dollars worth of product per hour. If we are slaves to businesses, why do so many people make well above minimum wage?
@LeighMet The wage rate is a balance of the supply and demand of labor. You will never earn any more money because of minimum wage. There are many employees that make 25 dollars an hour, 30 dollars an hour, 35, etc. By your logic, the corporations would only pay them the bare minimum wage of 8 dollars an hour. But that's not how it works- there is a balance between how valuable you are to your company and how much the company can afford. In the same way, an $8 min wage will destroy $7 jobs
@LeighMet The reason why wages were and are low for laborers is because the supply of laborers was and is extremely high. That is why gardeners make less than engineers. Anyone can quickly learn the basics of gardening but not everyone can quickly and easily become an engineer. The way to correct that problem is to train more people in focused skills through education. Why do you think Adam Smith believed in education? He understood this concept. But a minimum wage literally accomplishes nothing
@LeighMet To answer your question about apartheid, it plays into this because white labor unions in South Africa demanded a minimum wage law. They knew (and correctly so) that a minimum wage would prevent poorer blacks from entering the labor market at entry level jobs and acquiring the skills to earn a higher wage. Consequently, you ended up with a system of apartheid in which whites had all the jobs. The answer to the bubble monger question is more extended. It deals with Keynesian Economics
@johnsurs22 The problem with that is that with or without labor unions there would stioll have been APARTIED. Labor union had nothing to do with keep blacks as second class citizenns in johanseberg
@LeighMet Basically, it is not the government's job to protect people from themselves. And when it comes to protecting people from each other, the government is supposed to punish those that do harm other people. We don't handcuff everyone to prevent murder.
@LeighMet I would have the option of seat belts and unpoisoned anyway. If you look at the life expectancy of children born after the Pure Food Act, there is no unusual increase. Governments increased airport security after the attack, just as airlines would have increased security after the threat. Airlines have more incentive to prevent their planes from blowing up than the government does. In fact, it was government that prevented pilots from carrying guns to stop 9/11 from happening.
@girlcalledaish If you're a libertarian minded person like me, it is very easy to place socialists and fascists in the same category because both have the same objective: bigger government, a security/nanny-type state, more control over people's lives, etc. Sure they may disagree on some other things, but their overall objectives remain quite similar.
@girlcalledaish are you serious? that's like asking why do corporations want to make profits? Socialists control your life by taxing, at high levels, your income and redistributing it to other people. That's controlling. They also support massive government programs that are regulatory in nature, like socialized medicine, cap and trade, nanny-state type laws like food and consumer regulations, etc, etc. the list goes on and on. Come on dude, how do socialists want to control people's lives?
in the socialist world there would be no need to tax, there would be no need for welfare, a socialist society there would be a 100% employment witha basic minimum wage which ppl can live on .....please read up on leanon or trotsky before u blabber about socialism
socialied medicin is a good thing because every citizen should be provided free healthcare.....ppl shouldnt have to suffer coz they cant afford it
@girlcalledaish No sir, i dont think you have read about socialism. everything i just told you were part of the greater definition of socialism. ok. i am a college student who just took political theory last semester. you obviously dont understand that part of the "socialist revolution" is maximizing the power of the state in order to redistribute the wealth and provide welfare. If your a socialist, just admit it, but dont try and change the definition so what your advocating sounds nicer
@girlcalledaish It's Lenin*. Clearly you are just too blinded by your ideology to see what socialism is all about. Fascist say they're for the people too. Practically every representative of every ideology says that. Why don't you live in a socialist country for a while and actually experience it before making judgments about it
now...firstly....fascists are anti communist, anti socialist, anti Marxist and anti democratic
socialist are for marxism, and democracy
socialism is for the workers.....fascists dont support class struggle
fascists support imperialism and are against multiculturalism...they also oppose homosexuality and feminism.........socialists oppose imperialism but support the others
@girlcalledaish haha this whole statement totally proves you dont know much about socialism. the ex-Soviet Union, China, Cuba, North Korea, etc. are all socialist states!!!! Hello? What do you think USSR stood for? The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. At the core of all those governments is socialism; the idea that the govt should own the means of productions and use any means necessary to carry out their agenda
yup...i was right...u clearly havnt read any of marx or trotsky
firstly...just coz a political party calls themselves communists...doesnt mean they actually are!!
a simple example is in australia where the conservative group is called the liberal party and the capitalist group is the labour party......im pretty sure the democrats are not for democracy of the ppl
O'donnel is a sniping biased ass. He is doing on the left exactly what Hannity or limbaugh do on the right. I hope he gets a lot of publicity and people start to understand that this far right/far left rhetoric is interesting theater, but serves no constructive purpose.
I'm glad MSNBC acknowledges Ron Paul as the Tea Party founder. But to compare any of the other Tea Party candidates, even his son, to the master is foolish.
Haha MSNBC is such a joke. Look for these kinds of attacks in the next year. Lawernce throws out lame accusatory statements for reactionary purpose. Paul would eat this guy in a debate of substance regarding the dollar crises/free market economics, foreign policy, just liberty in general...

Consequently, you ended up with a system of apartheid in which whites had all the jobs. The answer to the bubble monger question is more extended. It deals with Keynesian Economics
johnsurs22 3 months ago
@johnsurs22 The problem with that is that with or without labor unions there would stioll have been APARTIED. Labor union had nothing to do with keep blacks as second class citizenns in johanseberg

Respond to this video... or cape town

@LeighMet Basically, it is not the government's job to protect people from themselves. And when it comes to protecting people from each other, the government is supposed to punish those that do harm other people. We don't handcuff everyone to prevent murder.
johnsurs22 4 months ago
@johnsurs22 But are we not a government of the PEOPLE. Don't you like it that we have seatbelts and unposined food to eat.
LeighMet 4 months ago
@LeighMet I would have the option of seat belts and unpoisoned anyway. If you look at the life expectancy of children born after the Pure Food Act, there is no unusual increase. Governments increased airport security after the attack, just as airlines would have increased security after the threat. Airlines have more incentive to prevent their planes from blowing up than the government does. In fact, it was government that prevented pilots from carrying guns to stop 9/11 from happening.
johnsurs22 4 months ago
@johnsurs22 no but we do arrest people who are driving drunk before they have an accident.

how the hell can u put facist and socialist in the same bracket
girlcalledaish 10 months ago
@girlcalledaish If you're a libertarian minded person like me, it is very easy to place socialists and fascists in the same category because both have the same objective: bigger government, a security/nanny-type state, more control over people's lives, etc. Sure they may disagree on some other things, but their overall objectives remain quite similar.
DandyAndy827 10 months ago
@DandyAndy827
how do socialists want to control peoples lives?
girlcalledaish 9 months ago
@girlcalledaish are you serious? that's like asking why do corporations want to make profits? Socialists control your life by taxing, at high levels, your income and redistributing it to other people. That's controlling. They also support massive government programs that are regulatory in nature, like socialized medicine, cap and trade, nanny-state type laws like food and consumer regulations, etc, etc. the list goes on and on. Come on dude, how do socialists want to control people's lives?
DandyAndy827 9 months ago
@DandyAndy827
u obviously havnt read about socialism
in the socialist world there would be no need to tax, there would be no need for welfare, a socialist society there would be a 100% employment witha basic minimum wage which ppl can live on .....please read up on leanon or trotsky before u blabber about socialism
socialied medicin is a good thing because every citizen should be provided free healthcare.....ppl shouldnt have to suffer coz they cant afford it
girlcalledaish 9 months ago
@girlcalledaish No sir, i dont think you have read about socialism. everything i just told you were part of the greater definition of socialism. ok. i am a college student who just took political theory last semester. you obviously dont understand that part of the "socialist revolution" is maximizing the power of the state in order to redistribute the wealth and provide welfare. If your a socialist, just admit it, but dont try and change the definition so what your advocating sounds nicer
DandyAndy827 9 months ago
@DandyAndy827
how much of marx, and trotsky have u read?
girlcalledaish 9 months ago
@girlcalledaish too much
DandyAndy827 9 months ago
@DandyAndy827
and u still think their like fascists?
girlcalledaish 9 months ago
@girlcalledaish They are in many ways, yes
DandyAndy827 9 months ago
@DandyAndy827
its obviouse u havnt read much on marx or lenon
to call someone a fascist is such n insult
socialism is for the ppl....i dont see how fascism wants the same
girlcalledaish 9 months ago
@girlcalledaish It's Lenin*. Clearly you are just too blinded by your ideology to see what socialism is all about. Fascist say they're for the people too. Practically every representative of every ideology says that. Why don't you live in a socialist country for a while and actually experience it before making judgments about it
DandyAndy827 9 months ago
@DandyAndy827
sorry about the spelling error
now...firstly....fascists are anti communist, anti socialist, anti Marxist and anti democratic
socialist are for marxism, and democracy
socialism is for the workers.....fascists dont support class struggle
fascists support imperialism and are against multiculturalism...they also oppose homosexuality and feminism.........socialists oppose imperialism but support the others
there are many more differences...
girlcalledaish 9 months ago
@DandyAndy827
btw what country is currently a socialist ?
please dont say china or cuba any other example that is clearly not a socialist
socialism supports democracy and im pretty sure these 2 countries dont
dont give me russia as an example...that was stalinism
i kind of looks like u dont know much about socialism
girlcalledaish 9 months ago
@girlcalledaish haha this whole statement totally proves you dont know much about socialism. the ex-Soviet Union, China, Cuba, North Korea, etc. are all socialist states!!!! Hello? What do you think USSR stood for? The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. At the core of all those governments is socialism; the idea that the govt should own the means of productions and use any means necessary to carry out their agenda
DandyAndy827 9 months ago
@DandyAndy827
yup...i was right...u clearly havnt read any of marx or trotsky
firstly...just coz a political party calls themselves communists...doesnt mean they actually are!!
a simple example is in australia where the conservative group is called the liberal party and the capitalist group is the labour party......im pretty sure the democrats are not for democracy of the ppl
girlcalledaish 9 months ago
@DandyAndy827
secondly, in socialism the workers have democratic control over the means of production and what is produced
ppl come before profit
human rights are very important under socialism and there is a class conciousness
the countries u listed dont have any of these
china is the sweat shop of the world and is pretty much a capitalist country
they have the 2nd biggest economy
socialism has an active trade union movement to protect the workers rights..these countries dont have that
girlcalledaish 9 months ago
@girlcalledaish Are you totally oblivious to human nature????

O'donnel is a sniping biased ass. He is doing on the left exactly what Hannity or limbaugh do on the right. I hope he gets a lot of publicity and people start to understand that this far right/far left rhetoric is interesting theater, but serves no constructive purpose.
