NEED HELP! Hello there folks i got my starting drum kit, and brought myself a cable to connect to my laptop. Id loove to listen to music while i play my drums, but thats not yet possible for me. Do i just have to connect it and adjust some settings? or is the a program needed. Any help is appreciated. Kind regards
@anexrox lol. there's a lot of reasons. it could be that the guy isn't good, or that the guy is too loud on an acoustic set, and he lives in a neighborhood. I think it's pointless, though. spend thirty thousand compared to three thousand for a drum set with the only difference between an acoustic drum and itself being that the sound comes through headphones, not the actual drums.
@anexrox well for the most part the real drum kit is preferred, since it just plays better, gives better sound, ect.. however, the electric drum kit is moreso for people in my situation, living near people who just don't wanna hear it. If i played a real drum kit all the time, I'd be evicted very quickly
@oberhofedavi oooo ok. cuz i guess on this one u could adjust volume so that you don't bother the tenants or wtvr. that's cool i guess. thanks :) would you happen to know where i could get a cheap set for ? i really dont care for brand names or wtvr but i dont want it breaking on me either, its just that im tight on money and want a kit
so is a electric drum set even worth buying? because friends tell me if im going to invest in a set i should just get an acoustic one, but 1. to big for my room 2. to loud
@bryanjel i'm not the greatest reference because I'm just starting to drum. At the same time i love my basic set, great sound and great feel. If you google images "x sound eletric drum set" it's the first two images (red and black). 500$ plus tax is the standard retail price for that set, so as long as you can get to a "steve's music store" a "music express" or any place that carries instruments, they'd be probably more then willing to order one for you, mine took a week to come in.hopethishelps
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to take a regular snare drum and take the top off and put a electric snare drum top on it and hook it up to a electric drum set and use it like a regular electric snare drum???????
I have a question about the electric drums... Can you set how you want your drums to sound like if you prefer muted/unmuted or dead or more resonance? Or does it only give you a few limited ways to make it sound?
Great video by the way, you answered almost all my questions :)
That was everything else but not a way to explain the way electric drums work.. I was expecting something more thorough into the electronics.. that guy just showed us how the set sounds.. nothing more.. nothing less..
You need to rename to novicevillage, all of your videos are made by someone that has extremely little knowledge of the subject. And you're trying to instruct other people?...
Thank you! You gave more info in this than many other videos I have watched. I still am curious about what I'd need to pay for a verrry basic kit. I prefer acoustic ones but gotta go with e-drums due to living downtown in an apt. And have a husband :) I play terribly but it is great fun to me and I need some sort of exercise like that where I love doing it, and this would be it. Thanks for any info! Now to watch some of your other vids...
you can get a real nice electric drum set, but I still think acostic drums are way better. If you just play by yourself, not in a band, or you live in an apartment and don't want to piss you neighbors off then electric sets are probably good. I'd say electric sets over 700 or 800 are probably pretty nice.
in some cased yes but you aren't the judge of what drums are better for people, you might be influencing the decision to an beggining player, and if you like acoustics better why are you even watching, you probably dont have drum scince what your comment said is so baised it's really not that bealivable
can someone plz tell me cuz i wanted to buy new electric drums but idk if i need a special amp for electric drums or can i just use a woofer or sub woofer that i have or just anyother speaker
is it possible to connect two electric drum module?
i bought an electric drum(simmons sd5k) and i am planning on buying a new drum set(simmons sd9k). i'm just wondering if I could connect them to each other.
Did anyone else ever notice that these "EXPERT VILLAGE" videos are done by some retard that worked at McDonalds last week and now they think there some sort of expert on electronic drums? Just a thought.
yes you do need an amp. i have an electric drum set and i hook mine up to me sound system but you can hook it up to an amp. the quality of sound is just better when you have a whole system..actually thats not a dumb question.
Sorry for the questinon, im quite ignorant when it comes to drums, especialy ELECTRIC drums: Where does the sound come from? Do you need a amp or something like that, or what... Sorry again,

just out of curiosity, why would someone buy an electronic drum set over an acoustic, if the sound is pretty much the same?

You don't need to explain everything,.... BECAUSE THERE ARE DIFFERENT E.KITS!
1. That Roland is different from other E.kits.. eg. Yamaha, and other cheaper kits
2. Not all kits are as sensitive as it so, it's better if you just explain the kit's features..
3. You dont deserve that kit..

These are technically not pads. Their is a mesh head over a shell, and there is rebound produced by the head.
