I could see what he was doing now. As what the top comment said, Royal Guard absorbs and reflects the damage upon the opponent. This is quite useful, and since I have Royal Guard on Level 3 already, I'll try this myself.

I'm not sure If a lot of damage will be done If on higher difficulty levels.

@MrWizard230 Actually he did use devil trigger explosion, but just before that he did a counter. Because the counter starts just before the DT explosion, only animation plays but both events occur. As a result not only does the DT explosion do damage but the counter gains a damage multiplier from devil trigger. Took a while for me to figure it out.

Virgil is one of the weakest bosses ever in a DMC game. He's not a big monster like the other games, he's just like Dante, he has a sword and fights. The easiest way to defeat him is to use Royal Gaurd and block all his attacks and immediate reverse attack.

1.) I agree to some that the difficulty is on 'Easy Mode'

2.) That instant damage? Its a 'Release' attack from the ROYAL GUARD tech. If you watch carefully his been blocking and absorbing all of Virgil's attack from the very start. Finds an opening then pressed R1+Forward+O

3.) To people who still didn't get that. Stop spamming the sword master or gunslinger style.

He Charged his Devil Trigger at Max and released it as he Royal Releases to do extra damage the same time.

very nice one but his 3 Royal Gauge Orbs were only 2.5/3 glowing so he could have finished him if the 3 orbs were maxed and also notice that he didn't stinger with rebellion,notice at 0:13 0:16 the 2.5 glowing orbs gets consumed by Royal Release which makes it obvious its not a stinger.

You're wrong. He released all his DT build up on him while performing a charge with rebellion. This is obviously Easy Mode, otherwise Vergil would have much more hp to handle it as a scratch.
