@themightychickens No, if the government fails then it should be changed, in fact, that's one of the more prominent clauses in the Constitution. But that was not the point I was making in the first place. I was stating that you shouldn't expecct for it to be an efficient system, because frankly it was never intended to be so. If you want efficiency of policy making, then go for a monarchy, where one person can just pass anything they please.

An fetus in it's early stages does not have a functional brain, it doesn't sense pain. It also doesn't have a soul, in case you're a religous nutjob using that argument.
With that said, an embryo/ early fetus is not a child, it's not aware of anything, it has no knowledge of it's existence.
