this shitty error is caused by antivirus... uninstal your antivirus ... unninstal steam, reebot .. reinstal steam .. and then instal a software antivirus. :)

don't give up guys i have the same problem. i just bought a brand new high end pc and counterstrike source too.

css worked perfect for a few days but than when i tried to start css or steam this runtime error message appeared.

than my pc didn't do anything and i had to push the restart button to start it new.

but now the explorer.exe hangs up if i want do delete some of the last used programs in start or if i want to see the features of explorer.exe.

but pc still works fine exepted those2 tings.

turn ure res down to 800x600, then put it back to normal in game.

or... if u got vista find catalyst and do it from there, i have a tutorial on how to fix this too.
