@drummerbeast101 Its not very loud...there is a little bit of a Drone when cruising 2000-3000rpms...but this can Easily be removed by putting in a 6 inch pipe in the tip of each muffler...this will completely cancel out the sound inside the car..but yet have an aggressive mellow tone when accelerating hard.
I couldnt tell you, but if yours an N/A it will be much louder without resonator. Whether it'll be raspy, probably not, if yours a Twin Turbo, then no resonators will sound best, as resonated cat-backs for Turbos are much quieter.
On the TT putting downpipes will make it louder but not as much as on an N/A. A Turbo car will always be quieter compared to an N/A exhaust wise (assuming you have same exhausts to compare with), however putting downpipes and test pipes COMBO will def. make it louder on a Turbo. (Test pipe and headers on N/A will make it extremely loud) also the mid section makes a huge difference in loudness, whether its resonated or not and if its X pipe or H pipe.
i have a stillen exhaust myself i have down pipes (test pipes) and catback i think it sounds rather strange high pitch.. i was wondering does anyone think it will change for the better when i put the headers on this winter?
you have a Clean Z man...SILVER FTW!....my Z use to look exactly the same as yours, mine actually looks different now....Your exhaust actually has a slightly deeper tone..sounds MEAN...Labree (specialty z)was my first choice but i found a Fantastic deal on my stillen that i couldnt refuse. I love the way the way the Labree/Specialty Z looks, the Quad tips!
also .... I am probibly never going to sell it. Im only a college student so for now im going to keep it as an NA..after i graduate and get a good job im going to Turbo the living hell out of it (TT Engine swap of course), buy another car and this car is going to be a summer-weekend-show, historic car in my future garage until the day i am gone =)
thats great most people i hear about are always talking about selling there na for a tt, but i try to tell them about the vh swap and they seem like they don't like it but to each his own, but i'm glad to hear your keeping yours i plain on keeping mine forever i really don't want any other car well maby a r34 gtr and a nsx type R ,but latter id like to get another z and keep it stock and true to its history.
also i wanted to ask u what do u think is the best color for a z i was thinking of a midnight purple like the new gtr spec v has, but i know thats not gonna be cheap i'm trying to go for a dark sinister look i plain on calling my z devil z lol ,but what do u think a good color would be for the z.
To be honest....thats is all up to you....someones opinion is really useless on what you beleive is the best of something. Personally i Love my silver Z..not many ppl have them in my area...Red and Black are very commen so i went with Silver. Not many ppl have purple...i dont like it for a Z though (as most ppl would say too)..its not a sporty color..but again if you like purple thats cool..i have nothing against it. its all up to you. (Silver, Black, Pearl White, and Dark Green are my favorite)
ya i see what u mean cause ya i wanted black too but everybody has it, and red thats too much u know like o0o0o look at me lol and i'm kinda trying to keep a low profile while having the sinister look, i wanted to have the fairlady emblems also in like a chrome or gunmetal on the side as well as the back, have u seen the new advan wheels they are called RS-D if u have a chance to see em they are hella nice.
jusp picked me up a 94 300zx z32 na..... plan on keeping it na as well. personally i'd just go ou and buy the tt if thats what you want... alot of time and money go into getting a na to tt status... but if you love turning wrenches go for it. would make for a fun build no doubt... any ideas for clean mods on an na?
In order i'd do this -- JWT Pop Charger, Cat-Back Exhaust, Performance Clutch, Headers and CHIP(for the money i'd stop there the rest of the things im bout to mention gives very min. HP gain for the money and to some not worth it) 1Peice Aluminim Driver Shaft, Light Weight Pullys, Electric Fan, Lightweight flywheel (you loose tourqe however). LOOSE BODY WEIGHT!!!
I have a one-pieice aluminum drive shaft, JWT Pop Charger, Stillen Catback, and Stage 2 clutch. Those are performance. My car now ha a 90-93 twin turbo spoiler and JDM Tail Lights.
Handles very well....Performance Suspension should be the next thing done on any Z (na or tt) after your basic bolt on performance to improve handling...even though stock suspension is still good for your basic driving. but if your going on the track...def. suspension upgrade
I have driven both Twin Turbo and N/A stock. You feel more of a pull on the TT, but i went with the N/A because its cheaper and it has more than power to satisfy me. I will buy a TT later on. Peroformance mods can be expensive most of the time. If you want a ZX to make it fast and powerful go with the TT because its so much easier to upgrade. On the N/A its really hard and very expensive to make it even at 300HP. Both cars look identicle except for the bottom lip. Good Luck
ur right, without nitrous i too think its impossible to make even 250 but go to google type in 300zx stage chart and its the click the first link .. also stillen has a stage chart as well but icant find it, its in their cataloge.
is it even worth moding a na z cause i'm getting one soon but i want a vh45de swap so theres a guy on the nico forum that said he would do the whole thing for 5k,but until i get the swap done would u say its worth modding it until i get the swap,i know that u cant really get good power out of them without some kind of forced induction witch i wouldn't mind using nos but is it worth it?
it depends on what you want....i would at least put a cat-back exhaust on it to make it souns good. your gonna still use the same cat-back even when you do the swap. one way or another your go gonna want to get an exhaust. i personally do not care for speed..i like the Z32 because of its looks, its history, and if it looks and sounds good...then thas good for me.
N/A models put out around 200bhp and the Turbo puts out 300bhp.
Mods for the N/A version are extremely expensive, it can take 10k usd just to gain 100hp, while the turbo version you can spend less than 5k and be putting out 400bhp.
I have a N/A atm and I am quite happy with it, but I will be doing a VG30DETT swap later on for about 4k.
They make jwt pop chargers for na Z32's?

what did it sound like without resonators?
was it raspy? i just bought a stillen exhaust, "double y pipe" with quad tips

i thought headers(down pipe) doesn't effect your sound much, test ipipe does.
PPKLU 2 years ago
On an N/A 300zx,...It def. makes a sound difference with headers...allows exhaust to move much faster....i've heard one first hand.
elninoloco7 2 years ago
and on a tt it doesn'? o.0

Headers will make it MUCH LOUDER..i only have the cat back..no test pipes
elninoloco7 2 years ago
I figured that but u say much louder are we talking like 10 db or more? I also don't have cats I took them out
yanahmean 2 years ago
couldnt tell you..but enough to notice a different.

sounds good. almost the same sound as mine with labree exhaust. listen to it...

direct me to a link showing a 300hp na vg...? highest ive seen was around the 240 whp mark. i dont beleive 300 is achievable w/o nitrous.

300 on the crank
