Now that is too fuckin' awesome for words and i grew up with this movie since i was 4 when i saw it in it's 1985 US New World Pictures cut dub called Warriors of the Wind and has been my favorite animated movie since then
would u mind if i stole the scripts wth full perms i have a cool model of something ( i cant remember) but i wanna put the scripts in there cuz my freinds like my model :)
Exarian, the engine was fueled by a mysterious liquid that could generate fantastic amounts of power if used the right way. Somewhat similar to the substance in Steamboy, it's never explained fully, but it "burned" in the engine and a tiny drop could produce thousands of times the total gas output of a typical jet fuel with little or no heat. The liquid was a greenish aqua substance that had bubbles forming in it and was seen fueling the gunship, too.
ignore my nerdy ramblings, but I think how the glider's engine works...
The glider is a very energy efficient machine tat relies mostly on thermals and wind currents for flight, but the engine is used to enhance performance, and for take-offs and areas with low or no wind available (dense forests, etc)
The engine worked somewhat like an ionic breeze. The air is heavily ionized and expelled at high speeds, making thrust.
I could probably make one that would work for an experienced hang glider...
Laputa, kiki's delivery service and all the other Miyazaki anime's I've watched were truly inspiring. But the clicp in second life with the glider was great! Nausicaa's a great anime, and I'll probably watch again in the near future to keep my imagination young :D
and, thank you for this great video and the music selection you put with it. I would love to get a hugg from her too :D
Well done, I dont even know what the hell this 'Secondlife' thing is and i love it. The music was well used. Does anyone know where i can get the cd or soundtrack or whatever for the movie?
This is the most beautifull thing that i ´ve ever seen on SL. My respects, and my congrats to your talent and good taste. I´ve seen Nausicaa several years ago, and it´s one of my favorite movies. God blees your talent and skills. ^_^
Ive seen the movie and am currently reading the manga. I love them both, the manga has a better plot but i thought one of the strongest parts of the movie was the use of music, and we can't have that in aa manga (unfortunatley, as that would be awesome).
I can't say which is better so ill say this; the movie is my favourite movie and the manga is my favourite manga.
Rodmeister, really great stuff. ZBrush looks really interesting. You must give me the tour sometime.
I was looking at my Bandai 1:20 scale kit of the Möwe with Nausicaä and it seems to have sharper wingtips. I should scan the assembly instructions and send it over to you.
hey rodion, i am a fan of studio ghibli and i think nausicaa is their best film, i am also in the teen grid of sl, are you? if you are please get in touch coz i'd like to buy the glider you have made
I'm sorry but I'm not on the teen grid. I will try to find a way to look for a modeller who's in the teen grid to replicate the Mehve there, but no promises.
This is a tremendously popular vehicle. I'm always keeping an eye out for a new flier from Ghibli movies... I've got one of those beetle-winged skimmers from Laputa and a couple of versions of Mehve.
The first version of Mehve was made in SL by Chage McCoy about two years ago but it's not available any more. There's at least three other versions in-world, and one on SLExchange as "Moewe".
it's not a dumb question. There are some good videos (and bad ones too) here in youtube which will explain what secondlife is all about, just do a search. Also, use the keywords "second" and "life", "secondlife" and/or "Philip Rosedale"
You absolutely have to sell this on the SL Marketplace.

Very nice job on the vid. From a 22-year-old Miyazaki fan like myself, this is as good as the actual movie. And the movie itself is fantastic.

Awesome! great work!
I always loved the movie!
When I was old enough, I got me the manga, and it's even better than the film!
And damn, the ending almost broke my heart..
Pure art ! you should all read it.

Hey, my earlier comment was kind of jerk-ish, and I've since re-thought it.
Oddball stuff, but I'm impressed that you built the glider, it looks really cool.
And it seems we like the same movie, so why should I be a dick to you for some language barrier crap?
Anyways, have a good one man.

This is good!
who is singing in the end? It's not the original singer.
she's not japanese is she?
she doesn't sound it.
I like the digital form of nausicaa.
I agree, studio ghibli could have made another film. The manga is so much better than the film. I reccomend reading it.

hi the singer in the end of it is called uta doki. i think she is looking like a japanese in her videos ;-)
