  • that's awesome man!

  • Nice + Pro Stuff

  • That's weird.. i came up with this same exact pattern just playing by myself.. I AM THE CREATOR OF THIS!!! just kidding lol

  • Those drums are fucking beautiful.

  • No I'm from Essex, UK. I happened to be studying Mozambique when I came across your post. To be honest your version sounds fine but doesn't sound like any of the examples I had to study. i guess it doesn't matter..it's all good.

  • Добре граєш!

  • Nice play and nice sound. Thumb up

  • BOOM much?

  • thanks for the lesson, it was good

  • I would feel so bad hitting those rims...

  • The drums sound uncontrolled and boomy which some people may like I suppose.

Don't think that's the authentic way to play Mozambique. Still, thanks for posting.

  • @anidroc thats largely due to the cheap microphone on the camera. It's probably not the authentic way...but it's a way! Make it your own!

  • @pae04b your drums sound cool man, how the hell do they sound boomy acoording to that guy? I don't know, good lesson

  • @anidroc are you from Mozambique? sounds great, really didn't you like that much?

  • What drum heads do you use? G2 over G1?

  • @metalliclark Yes. At the time of this video I used all Evans. I now prefer remo Emps and Ambs. But most definitely an Emad on the kick!

  • @pae04b oh yah REMO!!!!

  • You got a really nice sound out of that set

  • haha i thought you were going to say made famous by pello el afrokan from cuba.

  • Slow at 1:08

  • 1:27 'nuff said

  • :O those toms sound amazing!!! what kinda heads u usin? batter and reso?

  • You need to emphasize the 2 more you dumbass.

  • Wow, no my friend Mozambique was made famous by Pello 'El Afrokan", Steve Gadd learned it and decided to play it. Don't get it twisted..

  • @eleche08 my bad!

  • holy shit those drums sound amazing

  • the pattern he plays is

    R/l rlrrlrlrrlrrlr

  • Rl RLRRLR RRLRRLL

    (Note the breaks)

(Note also that the lower case 'l' is a flam to the right hand so at the beginning it is similar to a flam tap!)

  • Also i just realised that the bass and hihat pattern doesn't have to be four on the floor, it could be:

    BB BB BB BB BB BB BB H H H H H H H

  • nice sound

  • wow!!! that was simple... but awesome!!! tnks!!!!!! I know basic mozambique...!!!

  • nice..but explain just a little more...but great!

  • dam nice set

  • try playing it with the feet doing a samba-type pattern that sounds really cool, quite tricky

  • Yes, I was thinking as I watched the video, that would sound cool with the samba feet pattern.

  • man ur vids are extremely helpful

  • How does the sticking go?

  • i think (but im not sure) its

    R R RR R RR RR R

    L L L L L L

whilst alternating the left on the high toms

  • Actual watching a little bit, people improv the right hand patterns and move around with the left hand keeping a triplet rhythm. Quarter note kicks.

  • sorry omomuki . when i wrote out the description below the spacing of the letters shifted once i posted it so here it is again

right and left at the same time to begin with

then a 1 (16th) note gap then its

    rlrrlrlrrlrrlr

moving the left hand round the snare then high tom and then floor tom (although this guy just keeps the left alternating between the two toms). hope that helps

  • please ignore this and see above.

  • that's pretty dope, but at least slow it down and show/tell us what ur doing (i.e. bass drum and how to alternate)other than that your awesome! =]

  • i learned this easily from you, thanks brother, you teach and play well

  • your drum kit looks like chitty chitty bang bang

  • there is not cowbell, it is the rim of the floor tom. Nice beat this is fairly easy to do and sounds friggin awesome

  • nice beats. How do you tuned your drums I always have problems doing that. I have the same heads you have.

  • It sounds really nice if you play the last tom note on the and a of 4. it makes it flow really nice

    sticking would be r rlrrlrlrrlrrll

  • nice kit!

  • nice cymbals

  • thanks for the lessons

    peace from belgium

  • where the fuck is the cowbell?

  • can write it out pls????

  • That waas a GREAT beat and very easy to learn..thanx

  • very very nice, man i have been practicing drums for a while now, but still am having trouble following directions, i can play something that i come up with my self, but can not expand my skills beyond that, i have hit a major wall and want to be come better. any suggestions
