I have been looking at RAW capture before buying (?) an XS-1, maybe. Now, I have found out that RAW files have selective encryption of data and / or compression. Why? Well, apparently there are hundreds of RAW formats (I know, they are RAW and so should just be a copy of the sensor data capture. BUT NO, the file is processed so you have to use camera- or company-specific RAW de-coder. Adobe has plug-ins but mistakes can be made. Nikon codes are reputedly tricky. The only standard file - isn't !
