  • What a shame. It was a good game. What a rotten way to die.

  • I bought The Missing link on sale.

For other DLCs I can say only one thing - they break balance especially the one with 'one shot hacking' gadget.

  • Human Revolution was a good game. It was far better than all the other crap released last year. But yeah, the whole DLC thing is stupid, especially when you buy the Explosive Mission Pack off Steam, and notice that nothing has been downloaded at all.

    Hmmm....

  • Gotta hand it to HR though, the music is excellent.

  • Interesting. His stubble is augmented.

  • Hahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahhahaha

  • Yeah although I love both Deus Ex 1 and Human Revolution I still laughted my ass off. DLCs are always and will be bullshit.

  • @BossPanzer The missing link too?

  • @dizitei It's still bullsihit that it was cut from the game just to make a DLC out of it. As much as I like The Missing Link chopping the already finished game just to profit more is still annoying and unfair.

  • "Icarus!"

See? I said something that was in the video, so where are my thumbs up?

  • The best part of this video is that it's tainted yellow.

  • JC!

  • My vision is augmented

  • Funny, but Human Revolution was still excellent.

  • i love how the beard pops up

  • That was an awesome and funny vid :)

  • autoheal, the worst evolution in the video game ever

  • @6046175 Not entirely feeling that. Means they can build encounters around you having max health at any time. Also means you aere less likely to screw yourself over if a encounter goes poorly.

Autohealth as compared to DLC? DLC is more obnoxious.

  • Szerintem ez a játék jó paródia, csak rövid.

  • I'll take the AR googles. Never know if i'll face boredom.

  • ICARUS!

  • Fucking DLC.

  • Viewer number 333333... do i go to hell or heaven now?

  • The Lethal Takedowns are prefect!

  • What's the name of the music at the beginning of this? (before "Icarus" starts)

  • I'm 29 and I've been playing games since I was about 7. The state of the gaming industry is... terrifying. I really don't have much hope for something that's just another way to make piles of money. Consoles taking over, DRM, DLC, slowly switching to online distribution, EA and other huge companies buying smaller ones, making games more linear and retard-friendly by the year etc. ALSO SEQUELS SEQUELS SEQUELS SEQUELS.

  • @Voidhead I don't mind sequels provided they're loyal to the series, and make improvements. As far as I'm concerned, DX HR did just that. Consoles are very popular for their ease of use, I reckon cross-platform engines such as cryengine 3 are a blessing since it makes it easier for developers to make scaleable games. DRM is bad, as is DLC. I'll agree with you there. I love this video, but in my opinion DX HR is a far more user-friendly, streamlined and balanced game than its predecessors.

  • @3kliksphilip I'm not talking about DX HR (haven't finished it yet), just games in general. I really wish PC had a lot more exclusives because playing games made with consoles in mind isn't fun in most cases.

  • @3kliksphilip DX HR takes place before the events of the first two games, therefore it's basically a prequel.

  • That mod was hilarious! But I want this shit in the real game too!

  • I hope this is really meant to be a satirical parody and not some butthurt statement.

  • @JohntheNonCultist Do you really think someone would have gone through the trouble to make a whole Deus Ex mod just for a butthurt statement.

  • @jamesfish05 yes

Also, some people get whiny about DLC for the wrong reasons.

  • @JohntheNonCultist What wrong reasons. DLC is by far the gaming industry's shabbiest way to scrape money out of a game. And some of them go way too far in which they actually fix game bugs and problems through DLC.

  • Best assassination ever.

  • i wouldnt count on valve, the ep 3 is late for about 3 years. and yet they keep making tf2 trailers

  • time to reinstall my deus ex.

  • I don't know why everybody got butthurt. I finished the first DX just because I liked the trailers of HR, and Now I'm playing Invisible War.

And guess what All 3 are fucking great games. (Yes, Even IW)

  • I am just buggered that there isn't a working trainer for the latest version of the game

  • This is funny but HR really was a fantastic game

  • Heads up, JC, Your medical condition is a-lethal.

  • 0:48 "Pro tip: This is a dead body."

  • ...or, you know, you could just play Deus Ex again.

Christ DX fans are the whiniest bunch of cocks.

  • @MartianBuddy88 I finish Deus Ex 7 times, 8 if my hard drive didn't die. Not surprisingly I finish Deus Ex: Human Revolution 0 times.

  • @warlockskz You're missing out, I loved the first game, and I think this is a great game. Advice for playing the game: Look around, explore the levels. Stealth is still an option most of the time (the only exception being bosses, which make up roughly 2% of the game.)

  • @warlockskz come on you have to finish it at least 1 time. it wasnt THAT bad

  • @MartianBuddy88 I'm not one of the people who hate HR (not by a long shot), but if a developer revives a dearly beloved franchise, promising "hey guys, we'll make this as faithful to the original as we can! Pinkie swear!", that's obviously going to invite allot of (understandable) criticism.

  • @JMG9519 Square Enix forced a lot of poor decisions on the Montreal guys, like mandating boss fights (then outsourcing them to a no-name polish company) The king of nurturing environment that allows for total creativity in the face of deadlines, shareholder demands and corporate pandering only exists in 1 place now; Valve. They are our only hope.

  • @mmx25 But... isn't Valve a private company?

  • @Tigregalis Yes, they are, and that's a major part of why they are so successful. I think you misread :)

  • @mmx25 Well it seemed like you were saying that Valve runs like these other companies (deadlines, shareholders, corporate pandering) yet allows for a creativity-nurturing environment in spite of that. But it occurs to me that what you meant was that: of the big software development/publishing companies, Valve is the only one that has a nurturing environment without deadlines, shareholders and corporate pandering; but it really doesn't read like that.

Honestly I wish I could buy shares in Valve.

  • @Tigregalis On 2nd glance, you're right. But you got the point. Valve doesn't need your money because they are awash in capital. If they had shareholders, the gaming public might see how much of a money machine Steam really is. I can see the efforts of the Montreal guys all over this game. It's brilliant at times, but then the heavy hand of Square Enix comes. I know this game languished in development but DX has never been about graphics. They need time to make something great! Valve Time :P

  • @MartianBuddy88 This mod wasn't made to try and port Human Revolution to Deus Ex's engine. It was just made as a parody of Human Revolution.

    Purely for Humor.

  • 0:29 Suddenly, JC grows a beard after applying a pair of specs.

  • Funniest shit i´ve seen in awhile. Kudos man!

  • @kh44k What's more? You can download the mod for Deus Ex! LAWL

  • As much as I love this video and the mod, at some points it does cross from "poking fun" into "butthurt" territory.

  • @Gilboron no it does not

you're the one getting butthurt at this video

  • If you want to make enemies... try to change something.

The year, is 2011. It is a time of digital distribution... and technological stagnation. It's also a time of chaos... and DLC.

These publishers are like ghosts, Adam... Always in the shadows. Always hiding behind marketing and community managers...

I never had a choice but to buy the DLC...

Corporations have more power than the government.

    I never asked for this.

  • PROTIP: Lethal take downs are lethal.

  • PROTIP: Ladders allow to you to go up and down

  • I lost it at "this is a dead body"

  • In all honesty, this doesn't look too bad :P

I agree with the DLC point, but the highlights on objects you can actually pick up are useful in a world as cluttered as HR. The shooting looks more fun in this version than the original Deus Ex too. I always considered the takedowns to be a bit more rewarding than a simple swinging baton in Deus Ex. I've had too many bad experiences in the original where I go out of my way to melee take-down somebody, only for them not to go down. Not nice.

  • @3kliksphilip Totally agree.

  • @3kliksphilip How come you can't pick up just about everything like you could in Deus Ex?

  • @Lazyguy22 90% of which is completely useless?

Being able to kill people with Refrigerators or Gas them with Fire Extinguishers is good enough for me.

  • @3kliksphilip

The Melee skill was upgradeable for a reason.

  • This video has so many truths in it and I love it. However, there are two jokes that imply the wrong thing: regenerating health and first person shooting mechanics do not equate a dumbed down fighting style in DX: HR as even on the easiest difficulty, treating Jensen as Master Chief while result in Jensen getting killed almost immediately, especially at close quarters. Stealth and third person cover is needed to survive.

  • @bandofbrothersmovie Third person cover is needed to survive? LOL

  • @kareeji yeah my bad. hope you didn't miss the point of my comment though. should be: Stealth and use of the third person cover system is needed to survive.

  • Oh thank God, I thought I was the only one who got a feeling that today's games are made for idiots!

  • @Voy0 You definitely are not alone

  • The Pro-tip's are funny as hell xDD

  • Needs more yellow.

  • It would have been funny if an achievement popped up after getting the AR goggles called "I never asked for this".

  • Great parody. In HR its annoying that theres lots of stuff everywhere but all you can move is damn boxes or refrigerators.

  • I absolutely love Human Revolution, but this video is still VERY well done. I laughed out loud.

  • AHAAHAA, you're master )))

  • PROTIP: This is a dead body.

    xD Fucking hilarious.

  • Why did that have to slap the name deus ex on this travesty?

Just make it a new IP instead of abandoning the fanbase...

  • @hellomoto75 because fallout3 sold well

  • ICARUS! Х)

  • You've done it again. I always randomly encounter your videos and they're always very well made and with a very dry sense of humour. Love them. You deserve fame and fortune on youtube!

  • A Bomb!

  • 98 People disagree with the video and found out, that you can turn augmentet vision off...

  • Just finished this mod. Was awesome in every aspect I can think of and some which I probably can't think of.

  • When will you release DLC for this DLC?

Can I preorder the DLC? I want to pay 5 dollars for it NOW.

  • "Paul...I...I...I thought you were a GEP gun"

  • Alex Jacobson

    -----------------------

If you want to make a covert approach, crouch behind cover. Or, if you have to get you hands dirty, crouch behind cover. Or, if you feeling lucky, crouch behind cover._

  • Dammit, this is so well done and hilarious!

"PROTIP: Use this to turn off the sparkly hurt light." had me laughing out loud.

However, HR is one game where imo pre-order bonusses didn't really hurt the quality of the retail product for the rest of the audience who didn't have them. Tracer Tong appears in the regular game and the double-barrelled shotgun and grenade launcher are fun but useless as you never find ammo for the latter and the regular shotty is the best.

  • I shot Jonathan in the face after he told me useless information. Did I do the right thing?

  • JC is the man

  • This video just became my 1234th favourite. I feel it was worthy.

  • Tong is DESPERATE! Your turn.

  • @TriplayMedia Desperate

  • @TriplayMedia DESPERATE!

  • @Scawking OLD MEN RUNNING THE WORLD! A NEW AGE!

  • @TriplayMedia Oh yes.

  • @ReconUnit415 No, withing six months.

  • This is so much win.

  • You are my hero, someone had to do this, and you did.

  • Of course DX1 is far better than HR but think about it, how well would a game with complexity and depth of DX1 sell these days ? They had to dumb it down, add AR vision, advertise the shit out of it and all that crap so not only the hardcore DX fans would buy it...

  • Needs more loading screens with helpful hints.

Such as "did you know grenades explode".

    Shit's obscure.

  • @Rovlad1984 you know i played the first deus ex not too long ago, and the training explained to me that lams can be disarmed and taken if snuck up to slowly. i kept dying in HR because i didn't realize i could do the same to the mines on the wall till the game told me. Whether they tell you in the loading screen or in the initial training, it still helps. i really do feel stupid that i didn't apply any of the original deus ex logic to HR though.

  • What exactly is DLC?

  • @ONNIHOLTTA

    Downloadable Content.

  • @Kainenz0r thanks

  • LOL @ the Malkavian Mod reference.

  • awesome mod what is the music ?

  • @skaarj658

I think you don't follow Deus Ex right now =). It's the music of one of the Deus Ex: Human Revolution trailer.

  • @skaarj658 "Icarus" from the Deus Ex : HR trailer.

  • @Ganthir @skaarj658 it's a mix of Icarus and other themes.

  • @Ganthir

Without spoiling the plot much I can tell this much, Icarus was a name of a character from the first Dues Ex.

  • @jcdenton22

Icarus is a Greek myth you numbnuts

  • @RazorsharpLT

I know but a character of the same name also appears in deus ex the first.

  • Paul..I...I...I thought you were a GEP gun.

  • This should be added as a DLC in Deus Ex 1.

  • That was absolutely brilliant, I haven't laughed like that in a while, good job guys

  • ICARUS!!!

  • Nice Malkavian Mod reference in there :)

  • @MrWaeseL Specifically where was he referencing the Malkavian Mod? Or do you just mean the whole video with rearranging all the words from the voices?

  • @evsystem Pigeon Page at 1:08

  • @MrWaeseL Oh yeah, I forgot about that. It's been a year since I watched the Malkavian Mod

  • I like the music in this video. Whats the track called?

  • Go ahead agent, the retinal scanner will read right through your sunglasses.

  • A great update to a classic game.

  • Thumbs up if you found the JC Tenton secret in the actual level.

  • OMFG

  • As an old school PC gamer and worshiper of Deus Ex, I approve of this message...

  • now you've gotta add advertisements and loading screens to this video to make it more like the human revolution experience.

  • This trailer really illustrates how good the music in Deus Ex Human Revolution really is.

  • This mod is definitely like a sauce

  • Oh god I lol'd so hard. And then downloaded the mod.

  • "DLC. Looks good on paper, but a dozen additions are a little out of line."

  • Is there a way to actually unlock the line "People are finally starting to wake up to the fact that DLC is a messed up business" in the mod, or was it added into the video later, or is it a DLC package?

  • @Plausiblesarge Talk to Paul after the initial conversation for a few more bits of dialog.

  • @lljkceski this was posted in an article on PCgamer.com :D

  • I tried using the goggles in vanilla DX. They dont work at all, they just do nothing and automatically deactivate upon selecting another item. Version for Standard DX please

  • what is the name of the sound track in this video? I thought it was Icarus but its different

  • LOL Regen health/Power, DLC, simplified controls. Orange outlines!

Yeah, I agree with Mr. BoBoTom.

  • some people are never satisfied

  • A BOMB's a bad choice for close range combat.

  • Does this mean you didn't like the game?

  • I played the first Deus Ex in year 2010. But I realized, this game was different. This game was perfect. Gameplay, screen, characters. First Deus Ex my most Free game ever played. I love it.

  • The reason why I don't like HR as much as first Deus ex (and i love that game) are pretty simple: it brings nothing new, augments are seen before and on many games, stealth is used all around, exp gain is pretty much a must (especially after those CoD and BF bs).

I did like hacking (tho it was too easy later in the game) and I did like Jensens voice. Other voice actors were meh and story began great, I loved it, and than it became just another cliché game with cliché story not worth mentioning.

  • @life4nina wait, you dont like it becuase its simuler to the origional?

  • @darklol261 How is it similar? I love original Deus ex. One of the first originals I bought. Similar to original how? Augments are similar, true, but what else? Weapons are different(more "realistic"), story as well(watered down conspiracy theme done million times, I hoped for more "Augments: yer or not" theme), atmosphere as well(WHY SO ORANGE and shiny?!), shooting (for the better this time) is better, and enemy AI is beyond bad, even original had better AI (ok, not rly, but u get my point).

  • @darklol261 Btw, it's not that I don't like the game, I actually think it's quite fun and I'm on my 2nd playthrough, it's just that I think it's overhyped and overrated whereas it's not as good as some people and 90% of the reviews make it to be. It could and should be better.

  • ICARUS!!!

  • Protip: Hellomoto75 is butt hurt

  • PROTIP: this is a dead body

  • JC and Adam find out that the DLC costs 15$

    JC:"What a shame"

    Adam:"I never asked for this"

  • @boriska808 Haha! Exactly what I was thinking! ROFL!!

  • Haha, that's Deus Ex 3 in a nutshell.

I'll buy that game and play it to death. <3

  • Fucking Awesome!

Looks like the best of both worlds and I liked the references to stupid DLC.

  • hell of a game

  • GAMING ELITISM

    IT IS EVERYWHERE

  • After having that annoying Stutterbug in Deus Ex HR i reinstalled Deus Ex 1 and threw the new one into the corner.

  • @GrimLP True, you can simply NOT FUCKING BUY IT and pirate it, the pirated version gives you all the dlcs!!

    :D

  • Great video.

    also lol gamer elitism

  • People are finally waking up to the fact that DLCs are a messed up business. But anywho, putting nearly every good line into a trailer isn't that great of a choice.

  • @Comguard1

And HR had health packs, not traditional "heal body part health packs", the only difference is you got a lot more breathing between life and death. You can still use consumables like painkillers and stims if you are sick of waiting.

  • Wow this reminds me of all the things that weren't in deus ex.

    Like object highlighting.

    Or regenerating health.

Or laser sights making weapons flawlessly accurate

    Never mind.

Those were all in deus ex 1.

  • @andros800

Well, guess you've never played Deus ex...

  • @hellomoto75

Regeneration is the name of the augmentation that lets you regenerate hp in deus ex. It's an aug, but you most certainly can regenerate your hp in deus ex.

Object highlighting most certainly was and IS in deus ex. You can't turn it off. It highlights objects you can interact with.

Laser sights DO make your weapons impact exactly where the dot goes for the pistol, the assault rifle, and the sniper rifle.

It is you who did not play deus ex. go reinstall and test the above.

  • @andros800

The aug is optional, there is no "object highlighting" unless you actually hover over the item (which isn't even highlighting) and laser mods have NOTHING to do with accuracy.

So no, you must have never played it.

  • @hellomoto75 The laser mod actually did make your bullet hit where the laser was, used it alot for pistol sniping. I remember a crapload of highlighted objects in my playthrough, mostly ladders, I never had an issue with needing to heal in the game as you regenerate pretty damn fast, aug or not, but then again I mostly did stealth. Considering Deus Ex 1 had none of these features I think he did a better job than you ever can in modding.

  • @hellomoto75

I assure you that laser mods in the original DID change the accuracy of weapons; a weapon with the laser mod in the original deus ex assured that the weapon would always hit the laser sight, compared to suffering from movement penalties and skill penalties without it. Feel free to test this yourself in the original.

The object highlighting in human revolution is also 100% optional that only highlights objects that can be interracted with (like in deus ex 1) and can be turned off.

  • @hellomoto75

The fact that the health regeneration augmentation was optional in deus ex 1 meant that its health regeneration strength was actually stronger than the health regeneration in deus ex 3. You had to use your upgrade and augmentation canisters on it. These are simple facts of the original game that I love and still love and part of why I love deus ex 3 as well.

  • @andros800

What's your point? It's optional, as well as upgrading it.
