  • i personally use android booster by NetQin. it has a filtering option to close foreground apps

it also has a application manager, power manager and file manager.

another feature is that it has a monthly data usage limit so it warns when u have surpassed the limmit set by the user.

the widget is also very handy. it has a optimize button.

another features has i really like is auto system optimization. it automatically optimises the phone when the screen is locked

  • Can i get all these from Android Market?

  • @Izak80 no

  • ;P This video goes back to 2010..

So folks don't rant on his 33mb free memory.

  • I tried to look for TaskPanel on the Android Market, but it doesn't appear to be showing up. Has this application been discontinued or modified in any way? How can I download to my EVO? Thank you again.

  • TaskPanel is the best. Wanna know why? Because it's for free and AD FREE!

  • Advanced task killer now has a widget and an autokill function.... U should retry

  • ouch...don't download advanced task manager...it's like the top grossing app in the history of android...

  • loool wtf? 33mb free... whaddya have like 64mb total ram? how the hell does ur phone even work.. when i have 150mb free ram then my phone is gettin preeeetty slow already..

  • Task Manager. The best! Free on the Market, has auto-kill list, ignore list, status bar icon. Has all you need, and a funny android-like icon at the status bar that looks pretty nice.

  • OMG.. You need 3rd Party App to close Apps??? Android is lousy, is this '80s phone?? LOL ... How to compared it to iPhone?

  • @Sugiharaluna on android apps get killed by the os when there is a demand for memory. No need to kill them by hand in most cases. That is how it compares to iPhone

  • ooooh use SETCPU and use a fast reboot widget ;)

  • Yeah but withut one my phone gets slow/im very careful with it.

  • I'm confused. What's wrong with the task manager that comes with android? And android DOES multitask. ie. I can be on facebook while listening to music while a web page is loading in the browser while I download a new app from the market.

  • I cant download causeworld on my android, there is no app for it?

  • The apps are not "running in the background" unless they are doing something specific (synch, download, playing music). Most apps are stored in the memory for fast retrieval later (involving less battery consumption). The old idea of "free RAM = a good thing" is NOT applicable to android 2.1 or 2.2.

Task Killers actively slow android down AND use up battery life faster.

  • @wideheadofknowledge Really? i didnt download any task killer cause i was doubtful, what are your sources?

  • @Mat397 Hit some Android forums or google "should I use a task killer". The info is out there.

  • @wideheadofknowledge ok, the thing is when i quit an app on my nexus one i can see in the manage app that its always still running, it does that on many of my apps, and i dont know how to make them close automaticly. I think it takes alot of my battery, i cant spend a half a day without recharging it... pretty lame yea. And i dont want to get the Extended battery cause its fucking ugly and akward.

  • @Mat397 But, unless the app is actively doing something (like synching online, downloading or playing music) it's not running and draining your battery. It is stored in memory. This actually saves your battery. This is counter-intuitive if you're comparing it to a PC or similar but it's the way Android was designed to work. Something else is draining your battery. Also it's difficult to comment on your battery-time without knowing your usage. The 1GHz processor and huge display ensure fast drain

  • @wideheadofknowledge well i dont use it like alot, and my display is pretty low, still i got my phone 1 month ago, so idk if it needs to calibrate or something.

  • task killers are good for killing misbehaving apps, like when the app freezes and the option to force kill it doesnt come out.

and once your done killing all the other apps, you could then just kill the task killer app itself to get back more memory.

  • NEVER use taskkillers on Android...it is the best way to kill your battery life and slowing down program launching...Android uses not real Multitasking, it has background tasks...

  • @bluefisch200 Not true, at least on my Android 2.1. Killing some(!) tasks increases battery life noticeably. I use ATK and love it.

  • @bluefisch200 what is the best to save the battery then? buying a new phone?

  • @bluefisch200 I use task killer when I want to play a very ram demanding game on my phone. The os does not handle memory management too good in that case and the gameplay is choppy.

  • System Panel is best!

  • Why you have missed the best task killer ever ? BAZOOKA TASK KILLER on Android?

  • who needs the widget ,,

  • Advanced Task Manager is better than all 3 of these

  • how much money do you get from the commercials?

  • Task killers are bad for your Droid. This is a Linux OS and it doesn't need it.

  • What does that mean, "kill"? He said, "It could be dangerous". What does "kill" do, delete the app? Or does it just exit the app.

  • THIS DUDES SucKS DICK!!! download the free version of advanced task killer.

  • ummm the reg iphone has 60 mb of memory and the iphone 3gs has 140 mb... and they say u can make the droid run better? LMAO B.S.

  • I installed Advanced Task Killer on my Droid Incredible just moments after I got my phone. Switched to Taskiller a few days later. I could never get through a full day without recharging my phone. After it killed out my alarm and we almost overslept, I saw people people on the Web saying these just suck up battery life and memory. I uninstalled all task killers and can now last a full day on one charge with about 30 percent to spare and have noticed no loss of performance.

  • Task killers arent good for the phone anyway, alot of people with the HTC hero noticed it actually slows the phone down and uses more memory to manage the apps then to just let the phone do the app killing by default..

Dont belive me then look at how much memory you have free with a task manager and then uninstall the task manager and look at your memory again... Itll be much higher

  • @1ownjoo2

no duh, any app you download will take up memory, the guy is talking about memory usage, which can slow down your phone or drain battery life faster if you have alot of apps running at the same time. The point is you kill them with a task manager

  • If you have alarm clock on, and it's in your task killer list, and you "kill" it, does it cancel any alarm you had set, or what happens there?

  • i tryed all 3 and i like task panel the best but i actually have task panel lite its still made by the same person

  • Check out Automatic Task killer. Thanks for the video.

  • Oh, and also, what are some / all of the risks associated with "killing all" apps?

  • Great video guys. I just got my Nexus One yesterday and i've been playing with everything. Had almost all programs running, thanks. Went with "TaskPanel" Love it.

  • informative. thx!
