  • when i do the "stretch your arms and palms out rotating exercise" both my shoulders pop..with ever single turn. is that common?

  • most of peoples neck is already being stretched to their limits and you still want them to bend forward? so their disk can get smashed in the front causing the slip and slide effect. western view is weird, why not do the opposite since what has been done causes pain.

  • @kanayumikumo: You are supposed to do it in a way that would not cause additional pain.

    And there is a reason for that additional stretching - if your muscles are stiff because of inactivity, then only taking care of the pain and not doing any stretching exercises will make them even weaker, and thus more prone to get stiff. That's why people who exercise on a regular basis don't experience this kind of pain as often as the rest does.

  • @kanayumikumo: You are supposed to do it a bit at a time - if you can't do it quickly, do it slowly; if you can't do as many repetitions, do less of them; if you can't move to that extend, stop when it starts hurting.

    And your limits can be raised, for as long as you actually do give a damn about them instead of giving up "because there could be an injury, maybe".

  • I am a 72 year old female who has had many many surgerys from broken bones, plus heart attacks and a broken back. have injured my shoulders many times and my ortho. Dr. sugested a shoulder replacement on at least one shoulder. Well he realizes my reluctance toward another surgery that is not life threatening and left it up to me. Since doing your techniques here my pain has greatly reduced and is now bearable. Thanks so much

  • Thank you for your video. My question is this: can I use this even if I have had whiplash? I was in a very bad car accident over 15 years ago and now I am suffering tingling and numbness in my arms and hands.

  • I go to a chiro and I'll ask her about these, but they DID help! I got the crunching, cracking too,but if you keep doing it, it subsides.

  • Hope your not a chiro - The stretch for the back of the neck was totally wrong - why stretch muscles and ligaments that are already too long- DUMB!

  • Thanks, i really appreciate you putting this video. I've been having terrible shoulder pains. I have been taking pain killers, applying all sorts of balms and muscle relief creams i could get my hands on, after trying these exercises twice, the pain seems to have been eased. I will definately carry on doing these!!

  • I work hours at a time at a computer and sometimes at night I fall asleep in an awkward position on the sofa. The resulting tightness and pain in my neck can be almost intolerable. I have been doing these exercises, and they have done the trick for me! Thank you for positing this helpful video.
