@Lazerjo2000 the fool is the one that looks for proof of a Creator... does he not have eyes and a mirror? Can he not see the proof all around him? If you saw a car in front of you... you would say... "who made that car?" Then someone walked up beside you and said.. "I don't think anyone made it... it's just there. I really don't know how all those pieces fit together perfectly... but still... I don't believe there is a maker. Oh... there's a manual in the glovebox u say? Oh that's just lies."
If even the smartest scientist in the world cannot tell me how the most basic, tiniest, simple cell was created or came to be. How could you ever convince me to believe in a "theory" such as the big bang or evolution? In other words... if you can't explain the smallest and simplest of all things... how does ANYONE put all their belief in a made up theory that is so complex? Man's mortal attempts to deny Creation is pretty sad. Psalm 14:1
@spiegeltn you know if I replaced the word "god" with "the cookie monster from sesame street" neither of our view points would change and I wouldnt find religon any less rediculous, this argument is older than either of us have been alive neither of us will covince anyone who doesn't already agree we are right, the difference is science is willing to accept proof and change over time as we learn more, and as much as you may dislike us we will be the reason you can live until your 90, not god.
@3ras3r123@psmitty840 VERBATIM FROM THE DESCRIPTION: "Dr. Michio Kaku once had to deliver a 90-second sound bite on Einstein's legacy. Asked to do the same for Big Think, he bends space and time and nails it in 50 flat."
@Avalon400 All scientists base their work on their predecessors, but Einstein is not a good example of this. He contributed to many different areas of physics and much of his work was radical.
I disagree that Monarchs and Emperors have not had an impact on History. It is naive to think that any event in History is not entirely dependent on every previous event in History, for example with Constantine who converted the Roman Empire to Christianity, Europe (and by extension America) would be a culturally different place and thousands of years of art would not exist today. Einstein achieved what he did because he stood on the shoulders of giants.
"The satellites, the cell phones, the atom smashers..."
I know this particular video is about Einstein but those things are also critically dependent on one of the most under appreciated men in history: Nikola Tesla. He invented the radio, and DC current. I'm not an expert on him or anything, but seriously, if you want to know about someone fascinating read about him.
@iugey What he meant is that his work (einstein's) is in everything you know, but is not just his work, it's not just Tesla's, it's Newton's, Edison's, every single scientist who has left a mark in human history is included on your daily products.
That was the worst summary IN THE ENTIRE FUCKING WORLD. Does anyone else actually realize he didn't even actually tell us what Einstein was important for. He basically just summed up: Einstein was important. There I summed up his gay ass summary in 3 words.
You see, Mr Kaku, what you`re doing now is a playing a game called show and tell. You see, you`re tellin` me everything, but you`re showin` me nothin`.
@thedisbatcher His theories has been reproducible and verified in practically all experiments trying to falsify it all over the world up to now.
The bending of star light by the sun's gravity as predicted by his theory of gravity in warping space-time has been observed and verified in every solar eclipse experiment.
The latest very expensive Gravity Probe B satellite launched by NASA also confirms his space-time warping theories using gyroscopes.
@thedisbatcher If you're going to make a valid argument, please spell plagiarized properly, not type in all caps, and provide evidence that proves your claim.
@JBroMCMXCI Read up on those two studies that proved how the neutrino moves faster than the speed of light. It's a great controversy, now...The beauty of the world of science = Something is always changing, and there are no absolutes!
@starbobpizza No it didn't. The fundamental issue with that discovery is that it used relativity (GPS) to disprove relativity. You can't do that. It's illogical to do so.
@JBroMCMXCI He's probably referring to the fact that Henri Poincare came up with the Lorentz transformations, which is part of special relativity. However, Poincare didn't really develop the physics of special relativity. And it's not like this is an uncommon occurrence. This is how all scientific discoveries happen. One theory builds on another.
@starbobpizza Actually, Neutrinos travel at the same speed as light. IF you are referring to the Geneva Experiment where they claimed that neutrinos and light both fired over a 480-something mile distance, and that neutrinos arrived 60 miles ahead of light, then you are wrong. Physicists already explained that there was a calculation error.
@establishedfeb89 Actually, the study was replicated after the Geneva Experiment, which again presented how the neutrino was shown to be faster than light! Google it, man.
@establishedfeb89 No they got there 60 feet ahead of light. 450 miles vs 60 feet. How do they know they travelled 450 (or so) miles? They used GPS. There's your weak link.
I understand this lol. The crumbs on his table is referring to the cosmological constant that astrophysicists discovered and won the nobel prize for :P
Man Einstein was so freaking genious that even what he said "My biggest mistake" is now considered to be one the greatest discoveries/enigmas of Phisics, The Dark Energy.
