well men, i dont think this is a world record, i do that stage in that time to, some times 1 sec later its really easy, and i think you know it. but good job any ways
Something wrong here. You're actually running faster than what the run speed is, and Mario's speed is determined by a value that goes up and down and up and down again. The fastest possible speed should be jumping every single frame that Mario lands on the ground, once he reaches the top speed on the alternating value. You're just going forward, and you're moving like 30% faster than Mario can possible run by just running forward. I call either TASing or cheating, based on good information.
@TheRoomy You're probably from an NTSC region. Please look for my video titled NTSC vs PAL. Mario's not running faster, and if that were the case I would probably be moving slower than the NTSC version's Mario due to the framerate difference.
Please re-source your information. This recording is not tampered with, nor are any cheats employed. This play is purely from experience, as are all of my others.
"Unfortunately due to constraints beyond my control, I am unable to do anymore of these due to input latency" sounds like TAS troubles, and "The PC I was using to record this on is very much outdated. I was getting terrible framerates and lag..." means you were not able to get the framerate working properly after speeding the clip back up.

@snakeater21 It was emulated, yes. That doesn't mean I can't do it on the actual console. Emulation just allows me to record it, particularly at a higher resolution.
@LuzTeTT Then record it at a crappy resolution on the actual game. Problem solved. The game is a SNES game im not looking for HD. Doing this on emulator gives you a bunch of comments stating that you used a cheat or something. In which i believe you did for its impossible on one of your videos for mario to accelerate that fast and jump that high. Yoshi Island 3 FYI...so yet again sorry bro.
There is no problem. And I much prefer to record my emulator. If I had a capture card I'd consider recording it but since I don't, an emulator is just as good. I don't need to be told something is impossible, either - try it yourself and come back.
There's nothing really to prove, this is an extremely easy stage to speed run with enough practice, and it's not he did anything that's not humanly possible in this video.
nope but acoustic guitars (nylon) and a tuba acoustic bass and steel drums just like in the original recoding note : was written by koji kondo (original maker)
You're forgetting Koji Kondo is a video game musician. Yes, it's convenient to write for instruments, but in the end Koji knows it's going to be synthesized.
His recent work is all orchestrated, though. And given the fact the 8-bit era does not have nearly as many channels to play with as this, (this is the original recording you're referring to), Koji would have started on nothing but a piano - or it would have been redundant.
yes i know, well theres not much point in argueing with someone who remembers the old games like i do (mario, zelda a link to the past, contra, duke nukem.ect)your obviously father up in the musicians undertsanding that i am but it does soud hell of a lot like it so i will have to record it and show it you exept imah hypercam dont rec. sound so im screwed
On the actual game, you hold the Y or X button, which is the left and top buttons on the SNES controller. On an emulator, you'll have to map Y and X accordingly. I normally map Y to Shift when I'm using a keyboard, but I'd recommend purchasing a controller - it's much easier to play.
@batursi is tool assisted. the player can play the game very slowly choosing what he will do, and if he make a mistake he can go back little seconds before and do it right. So you do all perfect.
lol that was tight, must have taken alot of time, but its no different then the time you could have been wasting to do something else ya know? lol so good job =P

I'm on the border of fakeand real here. Everything seems legit, but mario seems to have a higher acceleration speed than usual. Hmmm.

Could be you experiencing frame skip or something... watch some of my other videos, and find the PAL verses NTSC one.

Yeah, mario goes WAY faster than normal. Did you make a hex edit or something?
