@TimothyScottHawkins the red sumo is an Aprilia 450 or 550. Vtwin engine, very fast, very unreliable. This video is 2 years old, so I'd bet money that the Aprilia in this video is currently in a shed somewhere with a blown up engine. Reading forums, guys actually boast about getting 5,000km out of the Aprilia "with no problems!!". On the other hand, I'd also gaurantee that the two WR250X's are still going strong.

So I am looking into a SM bike, and I was just curious; your bikes, are they heavily modded, in the suspension dept.? Or did you leave the fork and shock mostly stock? Also, that Yamaha, what CC is it? I was thinking of a DRZ400SM.

@em613 the suspension looks pretty stock to me. The Yamaha's are 250cc. The DRZ400SM is a few generations behind the WR250X. Yes, it is 150cc larger, but the WR has far better suspension, fuel injection, cruises better at freeway speeds than the DRZ (probably due to the 6 speed trans). They are both very reliable bikes, but the WR is probably even a step ahead there. The WR also has even lower maintenance intervals. I looked at both, chose to spend a little more and got the WR.

OK, I watched the rest of the video and he did it again at 3:08, and then later he was doing a mono with oncoming traffic and he wasn't in full control, ended up putting down on the wrong side of the road after the car had passed. The guy on the blue bike seriously needs to tone it down, he is heading for an accident.

Nice video, however I hope you realize that at 2:08 - 2:14, the lead rider on the blue 250 essentially made a fatal mistake. There were no cars coming the opposite way, he lucked out, but right there is a moment where he has to tell himself by rights he should be dead. Be careful out there people.

I had a 2002 DRZ400 and traded it in on a 2008 WR250R which is just like the WR250X but its the off road version (still street legal). I love it. Much lighter than the DRZ400 on the trail and a TON better on the streets. The fuel injection and 6 speed tranny make it a blast. The WR also comes from the factory with a forged piston and high lift cam with max power at 10,000 RPM.

Only complaint I have about my WR is the 2 gallon tank but the aftermarket 4 gallons are just about to hit the shops.

The only thing i'll mention, is that if your going to do a lot of highway driving (kind of rare in the motard world) you may want to up the power a bit. Good thing is, the DRZ400 is a popular machine, and LOTS of aftermarket goodies available for it :D
