@VerbotenDingleberry Thanks for uploading this, is it alright if I share it on spudfiles? Also, I have a question, think you could do a 1" to 1/2" coax tutorial? Thanks!
@VerbotenDingleberry Yeah the only place I've seen clear primer is online, and I haven't been able to find it in stores. I really would like some of it, although if you are careful with purple primer than you can make is very unnoticable.
OH and how long is the 2 inch pipe, and how long is the screw for the piston and the last one... how many "circles"did you put on the lower section of the piston?
@evanmcorleytv I never made (much less recorded) measurements. As explained in the video the 2" pipe came to about the middle of the Tee and the end (inside the Tee) had to be exactly square and very well polished so it would seal well against the rubber face of the piston. Again, study how it works and the details will be obvious.
@evanmcorleytv I believe It was a 4.25" but after cutting them I bolted them together, put the bolt in a drill and used that to sand them, as a unit, to the exact size I wanted. Each design will be slightly different. Just study how the valve works and the measurements will work themselves out.
I mostly shoot for power but I have put a water filled tennis ball out to about 400 meters. Golf balls just sort of disappear into low earth orbit with my 10' golf ball barrel...
@evanmcorleytv I used 3/4" plywood but 1/2" would work just as well (just more pieces to cut). You can also use other materials. I've seen someone cut up an old nylon cutting board (light and very tough). Just use your imagination, that's what makes this stuff fun.
Thanks for checking out my cannon. You did a very nice job putting all of your videos together. Our guns are very similar in design, but you put alot more design and time into yours. Good job again!
Well, performance is what really counts and from what I can see in the video your cannon kicks like a mule. Any chance of getting a peek inside the valve? And is this cannon up on the SpudFiles site? (It should be.)
Well, thank you. I knew how confusing this stuff was for me when I was just starting. Glad it was helpful. If I missed anything just let me know. I'll be making more vids soon...
lol (actually it was an expired health insurance card.)
Hope the video helped. There's so much to learn about this stuff I just wanted to give other beginners a place to start. You wouldn't believe how many hours I spent on SpudFiles trying to figure out some of this stuff...
Great set of videos. Do you have a parts list for the gun you build in this series?

You're not priming the pipe, cleaner is different then primer isn't it?
techwizzy 1 year ago
@techwizzy Yes it is. I hate the purple stuff and haven't found a clear primer. This seems to work but using primer would have been better for sure.

what sized hole saw did you use to cut out the piston, and did you put pipe in the middle of the tee so that it would be even? or not?

@VerbotenDingleberry thanks :D p.s. I decide to make my own piston, and did you use 1/2 inch ply wood for the piston?

This is THE BEST tutorial for these cannons on youtube. You did a great and detailed job, thank you very much for the knowledge.

I'm usually KlugeBoy on most sites (except YT). I still haven't posted the latest gun yet though...

Kluge!
Good to see you still fooling around with cannons.
I have several suggestions for your builds. Get back to me via PM, email, etc.
Good luck on whatever else you're building!
