err... wut? Not really a method. If you don't know parity, you technically can't solve sq1. I did the same thing at my first comp w/ 4x4, risked a 50/50 chance of it being unsolvable...

Parity on square1 is actually quite cool to solve, imo. There are some really nice intuitive fixes, so why skip them? :)
