@SayNoToEThug This part of the game isn't that far into it.... As I recall the reason given when one of the girls suggests it is that it's the only place big enough to fit everyone.
@Midna1995 Yeah, they did edit it in the US version. The US one is synced up with the English version of the song, as well as a little more flair than the Japanese version.
Koda Kumi's voice definitely doesn't suit Yuna, but this video still makes me cry lmao... Sadly my game is scratched and it won't go any further than this part.
i know this may sound totally late since its so obvs but i just realized now that the reason why yuna's voice sounds a lot older and off from her image is because lenne is actually the one singing. i dont really like koda kumi; i think utada hikaru would've been a better choice. her voice would've fit both lenne AND yuna :] mehh maybe im just being biased haha <3
Split opinion I think: I love the english video because you see a lot more of the story, it like emphasizes how Lenne is a part of Yuna. However, the graphics on the jap version are absolutely stunning
Well the US and International/Last Mission versions are like that because the developers wanted both Yuna and Lenne together and to go deeper into the story. So that's how US got it.
I love both versions English and Japanese, but I think English version has more... erm... how to say it... "graphical stuff". I mean, the part when yuna and Leanne are singing at Canon surprised me the first time. I was like O.o OMG Yuna's ancestor is singing with her!! lol
Haven't heard the English version and I don't want to. Just because I don't speak Japanese doesn't stop me from feeling the passion. Wish it was the real Kumi Koda in the video though rather than graphics.
The original is always better guys, Like the English one better? Ur not a real fan them...losers And if you like the English one better, why watch this version?
This is better, because in the english, jade sounds like she's just singing just because. But Kumi koda did such a great job on this song. You can feel real emotion in this version.
This one is better. Because you can feel the emotion Yuna and Lenne feel in this scene. Ku chan did amazing on this song. Everytime I listen, I want to cry. It's beautiful.
actually its Lenne's voice not Yuna's u must remember that the songstress dresshphere has Lenne's spirit that includes her voice too XD and her seiyuu is Koda Kumi so it really fits , Yuna is not really singing here
as much as i love the japanese voice, the thing is, it just doesnt fit Yuna, she needs the high squeekyish voice XD i like both versions though, dont get me wrong. but NOW if the english singer sings the japanese version (hopefuly with a good accent) then i'd probably have my fave version of the song XD
i think both give great performances with lots of emotion, but my only problem is as i've mentioned is the pitch of the voice. Koda-san's voice is excelent but it's not too yuna like for me
I like the japanese song a bit better, but I did really like the dou singing and the animation was a bit more flashy, can't really decide which is "better" but I like both.
Both English and Japanese versions are excellent good. The only reason some say the English was horrible is because they are the people who think they are Japanese =s
The girl with long hair name Lenne. She is Yuna's ancestor. She was a summoner and a singer just like Yuna, but she died thousand years ago with her love, Shuyin. ^^ She's one one my favorite character. She's so beautiful! =)
I can't resist this version, Koda's voice is so beautiful and relaxing. Her voice really shows in the Orchestra version too, god it's beautiful. As is this video, as well. The English one was horrible.
Each language has it's own points of perfection. I don't think this is one of the better Japanese songs, but hey, to each their own. Have you ever taken Japanese? I find that the "magic" you speak of is actually mistaken mystery.
I love this version so much better as a video. The English version was too focused on Yuna when the song was created by Lenne and actually sung by Lenne.
@celes42017 from my observation at 2:23 Yuna's back and at 3:03 Yuna stole the stage (light fading from her body) while in the English version Lenne stayed to the end of the refrain/chorus. so no the Engilish version isnt so focused on Yuna. In the English version i like the concept of Lenne Materializing next to Yuna to do a duet instead of Lenne taking over Yuna. They both sing for the men they love.
i totally agree. i remember reading a comment from this girl who didnt like the idea that the eng version of this made it seem like the song belonged to yuna and lenne was just in the background when the two of them were singing together
Wow it some parts the Japanese one is completelty different, I can't believe some of those scenes aren't in the English one. Well either way I like the English and Japanese versions on equal basis =3.
No matter what people say, japanese version is way better. As AznJiggah said, emotions are lost in traslation. English version is good but koda kumi is just way too better, so much emotion, sadness, power and feelings on japanese version. (Sorry for my bad english)
Consider this.. the song was written with the intention of it being sung in Japanese. It was written with japanese words with ideas that have the potential of being lost in translation.
The lyrics were adapted to the English language, some times phrases are changed to go with the melody of the song.
Though I'm partial to the japanese version, the english version is equally as enjoyable. It's my opinion that you shouldn't really compare the two to eachother too harshly. That's just my $1.42 =]
It is very much so. Only point that I was trying to drive across is to the people who prefer the English version and the English version only. I do not understand them really.
It's like I prefer "Every Breath You Take" from The Police rather than Puffy's "I'll Be Missing You". I don't like it when other singers do "Covers" or "Sampling" other artists songs, especially when from one language to another. Emotions, feelings, totally lost in translation.
I guess I did sound like I was crying about it. Yeah well, whatever... it's not a nerd cry really. Just extremely pissed off sometimes on how poorly dubbed voices destroys anime/games/songs. They should make all games with an option, Dialog: English/Japanese. Subtitles: English/Japanese. Guess what? I'm always gonna be Dial: Japanese Sub: English
Hmm. I don't know about that. It's just a matter of easier communication with less hassle (subtitles might take away from the focus of the video). If I saw a video of the English's language's greatest works (a classic movie, for example) dubbed over in Japanese for a Japanese audience, I wouldn't mind. It lets them enjoy the beauty of our culture as much as we do.
I like your comments. i'm with you. Animes sucks when dubbed into english, it's way better with japanese voices and (Any language) subs. Japanese voices are like full of feelings and style... i don't know
It wasn't meant for Yuna it was meant for Lenne. Yuna would of course have the bubbly pop sound of the English Version, but Lenne's voice is powerful and emotion filled, which is what Koda Kumi brought for Lenne not Yuna.
