• Ah ps2... Great nostalgia song.

  • i never finished the game, but why the thunder plane of all places? seem unconventional

  • @SayNoToEThug This part of the game isn't that far into it.... As I recall the reason given when one of the girls suggests it is that it's the only place big enough to fit everyone.

  • @SayNoToEThug after this song its called the sunshine plane...

  • ill never forget this

  • Would you say that the guitar solos are Spanish guitar?

  • japan version >>>>>>>>>>english version

  • Koda Kumi's voice suits Lenne better than Yuna

  • 2:12 What is lenne doing with her hand?

  • i LOVE this song and this game but i think that they should have brought back tidus

  • @Ashiyuma If you achieve the perfect ending, Tidus DOES come back.

  • That's my favorite scene.

  • @darkwithering112 Then why did you click on it?

  • Is it just me or did they actually edit the video in the english version? *blinks*

  • @Midna1995 they did.

  • @slashedkaze Ah, okay^^

  • @Midna1995 Yeah, they did edit it in the US version. The US one is synced up with the English version of the song, as well as a little more flair than the Japanese version.

  • the ppl at the start looked like zombies

  • I think Koda Kumi's voice doesn't match Yuna's character.. Still a nice song

  • Koda Kumi's voice definitely doesn't suit Yuna, but this video still makes me cry lmao... Sadly my game is scratched and it won't go any further than this part.

  • @AdamKaoru don't they have kits or something that will fix scratched discs?

  • koda kumi's voice is too deep for yuna.. it just feels weird cause it doesnt really fit imo

  • i know this may sound totally late since its so obvs but i just realized now that the reason why yuna's voice sounds a lot older and off from her image is because lenne is actually the one singing. i dont really like koda kumi; i think utada hikaru would've been a better choice. her voice would've fit both lenne AND yuna :] mehh maybe im just being biased haha <3

  • @duj0urproductions01 i'm with you.

  • why are there 2 people who dislike this?

  • Comment removed

  • Split opinion I think: I love the english video because you see a lot more of the story, it like emphasizes how Lenne is a part of Yuna. However, the graphics on the jap version are absolutely stunning

  • Well the US and International/Last Mission versions are like that because the developers wanted both Yuna and Lenne together and to go deeper into the story. So that's how US got it.

  • I love both versions English and Japanese, but I think English version has more... erm... how to say it... "graphical stuff". I mean, the part when yuna and Leanne are singing at Canon surprised me the first time. I was like O.o OMG Yuna's ancestor is singing with her!! lol

  • nearly always when i see the protagonist of FF8 and the other games he or she looks atleast a bit like cloud

  • not much videos has such a good quality like yours :)

  • the japanese version is much smoother

  • Haven't heard the English version and I don't want to. Just because I don't speak Japanese doesn't stop me from feeling the passion. Wish it was the real Kumi Koda in the video though rather than graphics.

  • I love both the English and Japanese versions of this song... They're both beautiful in their own way.

  • The original is always better guys, Like the English one better? Ur not a real fan them...losers And if you like the English one better, why watch this version?

    @FinalFantasyGuides Thanx For the upload

  • AGHHH this got me so emotional the story is so sad D; dont call me a fag or any type of sexual references please.

  • Play the game on japanese insted...

The translated version is crap..... I rly like the "Original" voices alot more then the American embarrassing voice actors...

  • This is better, because in the english, jade sounds like she's just singing just because. But Kumi koda did such a great job on this song. You can feel real emotion in this version.

  • This one is better. Because you can feel the emotion Yuna and Lenne feel in this scene. Ku chan did amazing on this song. Everytime I listen, I want to cry. It's beautiful.

  • I want to cry. After hearing this song.

  • Did the english version cut some frames out?

And replaced them with others? oO

    C-A

  • yeah the english one would definitely fit yuna, since she's so young and innocent. while lenne has the more matured voice.

  • actually its Lenne's voice not Yuna's u must remember that the songstress dresshphere has Lenne's spirit that includes her voice too XD and her seiyuu is Koda Kumi so it really fits , Yuna is not really singing here

  • i really like this one but i think the english sounds more like how Yuna would. But both versions are good :)

  • Does the FFX-2 International + Last Mission have this japanese version ??? please reply, thanks guys :)

  • as much as i love the japanese voice, the thing is, it just doesnt fit Yuna, she needs the high squeekyish voice XD i like both versions though, dont get me wrong. but NOW if the english singer sings the japanese version (hopefuly with a good accent) then i'd probably have my fave version of the song XD

  • Kuu-Chan(Koda Kumi) sings the Japanese but her english versions were rejected by Square Enix and they picked Jade to do the english.

I think Koda Kumi's version is better than jades as she (As I think) puts more emtion into singing the song than jade does

  • i think both give great performances with lots of emotion, but my only problem is as i've mentioned is the pitch of the voice. Koda-san's voice is excelent but it's not too yuna like for me

  • no christina aguilera has a squeekiyish(o_O?) voice too, when she is speaking, but when she sings, her voice is totally different.

yes I like both versions too, but the japanese is better because of the lalala at the end.

the english voice sounds like viola from eternal sonata, because jade villalon sung it

  • I like the japanese song a bit better, but I did really like the dou singing and the animation was a bit more flashy, can't really decide which is "better" but I like both.

  • The japanese Version is the best!! Koda Kumi is has such a great Voice!!

I don't like the english version, although the 'soft' voice fits Yuna better.

  • I agree with you on both parts! XD Koda Kumi has an awesome voice, but it's just a little too rough for Yuna. Oh well, the song is still awesome!

  • the japanese version is way better.

whoever says the english is better obviously cannot differentiate great singing from mediocre singing

fyi koda kumi is a huge japanese artist, one of my favorite i might add

  • i prefer the english one

  • I personally like the animation for the english sound track better. It seems smoother.

  • Both English and Japanese versions are excellent good. The only reason some say the English was horrible is because they are the people who think they are Japanese =s

    6*!

  • Artistically the Japanese verision is better but I have to say that this is the closest translation I have seen yet that was widely publisized.

  • Wow I never realized the Japanese and English versions were different!

  • who is that girl who got long hair? better looking than yuna xD fuck u who dont got same opinion as me lol

  • The girl with long hair name Lenne. She is Yuna's ancestor. She was a summoner and a singer just like Yuna, but she died thousand years ago with her love, Shuyin. ^^ She's one one my favorite character. She's so beautiful! =)

  • GOD SO BEAUTIFUL SONG!

  • I can't resist this version, Koda's voice is so beautiful and relaxing. Her voice really shows in the Orchestra version too, god it's beautiful. As is this video, as well. The English one was horrible.

  • I think both are good. The English one wasn't horrible... In my opinion, it's just as good as the Japanese version.

  • Totally agree ^^

They pulled it off nicely in both versions

  • well , they were both nice , but Japanese have it's own magic that no other language can compare with =]..

    english version : 10/10

    japanese version : 20/10

    =]

  • Each language has it's own points of perfection. I don't think this is one of the better Japanese songs, but hey, to each their own. Have you ever taken Japanese? I find that the "magic" you speak of is actually mistaken mystery.

  • lol dont be so harsh, the english version was good too.

  • Why do you say the english was horrible?

  • I love this version so much better as a video. The English version was too focused on Yuna when the song was created by Lenne and actually sung by Lenne.

  • @celes42017 I agree. I wish the English producers of it could've used this video instead, and then change the lips to match Jade's. ;_;

  • @celes42017 from my observation at 2:23 Yuna's back and at 3:03 Yuna stole the stage (light fading from her body) while in the English version Lenne stayed to the end of the refrain/chorus. so no the Engilish version isnt so focused on Yuna. In the English version i like the concept of Lenne Materializing next to Yuna to do a duet instead of Lenne taking over Yuna. They both sing for the men they love.

  • They should've used both concepts. I agree that the English version should've focused on Lenne but some of the modifications were very nice to see.

  • i totally agree. i remember reading a comment from this girl who didnt like the idea that the eng version of this made it seem like the song belonged to yuna and lenne was just in the background when the two of them were singing together

  • OMG I LOVE IT

  • It has been six years since we first heard this song and it still sounds great!

    I miss this game...

  • Awesome vid. I really really love this song. The song is very catchy. This song really fits all the scenes that you used in this vid.

    I will give it 5 stars! *_*

  • i dont think this video is edited! this video is straight from the japanese game untouched

  • Beautiful song!

  • wow, it's so different from the English version.

    But it's beautiful.

I want to play the game again. :D

  • So COOL!I LOVE KUMI KODA!FFX-2 ROcks!

  • Wow it some parts the Japanese one is completelty different, I can't believe some of those scenes aren't in the English one. Well either way I like the English and Japanese versions on equal basis =3.

  • i like both, the japanese singing is better, but the american video version is better than this one because of the duet.

  • wait a sec, in this vid (jap. ver,)its like there was lenne singing inside yuna but in english ver. yuna and lenne sing in duets..

  • where can i download this song! it is awesome...

  • tried on google, and i found nothing :(

well, there are some, but it's not free Xp

  • limewire

  • the Japanese version is DEFINITELY better.

plus IMO Koda Kumi isn't supposed to sound like Yuna because she's representing Lenne.

  • No matter what people say, japanese version is way better. As AznJiggah said, emotions are lost in traslation. English version is good but koda kumi is just way too better, so much emotion, sadness, power and feelings on japanese version. (Sorry for my bad english)

  • i listened to both. i like both. but i feel so much more emotion and power in Koda's version. both did great, but GO KODA KUMI!!!

  • Consider this.. the song was written with the intention of it being sung in Japanese. It was written with japanese words with ideas that have the potential of being lost in translation.

The lyrics were adapted to the English language, some times phrases are changed to go with the melody of the song.

Though I'm partial to the japanese version, the english version is equally as enjoyable. It's my opinion that you shouldn't really compare the two to eachother too harshly. That's just my $1.42 =]

  • It is very much so. Only point that I was trying to drive across is to the people who prefer the English version and the English version only. I do not understand them really.

It's like I prefer "Every Breath You Take" from The Police rather than Puffy's "I'll Be Missing You". I don't like it when other singers do "Covers" or "Sampling" other artists songs, especially when from one language to another. Emotions, feelings, totally lost in translation.

  • Wow her voice is like 10 times better then the engish version

  • So much better in the Jap (as usual). Do you know where I can download this? I'd like to have the clips for AMVs...

    Thanks

    Becca

  • It's nice to hear the Japanese version, because Koda Kumi is the voice of this song -- and she's the muse/what Lenne is modelled after...

So it's nice to see her voice coming outta Lenne. :)

Though I do enjoy the crisp cute voice of Yuna in the english version too

  • I guess I did sound like I was crying about it. Yeah well, whatever... it's not a nerd cry really. Just extremely pissed off sometimes on how poorly dubbed voices destroys anime/games/songs. Dubbing is ok only if it can be done at maintaining the original content. FFXI songs for example should not be dubbed into English. When you do it, lyrics, tone, emotions, everything is changed. I call that "Sampling" therefore no longer keeping the original content. Get my drift?

  • Yes, you're absolutely right. Dubbing killed the soul of Japanese, it feels really weird.

  • Uh... no thanks. I listened to English version of this song many time and still a big NO THANK YOU.

Stop dubbing Japanese Anime into English, stop dubbing Japanese songs into English for the love of god. Please respect the culture and the race of people that developed the game. If by default it is in Japanese then please keep it that way.

They should make all games with an option, Dialog: English/Japanese. Subtitles: English/Japanese. Guess what? I'm always gonna be Dial: Japanese Sub: English

  • I guess the only difference was that Final Fantasy X didn't change suteki da ne for a reason, but ... hm.

It wasn't a bad thing you know?

  • Hmm. I don't know about that. It's just a matter of easier communication with less hassle (subtitles might take away from the focus of the video). If I saw a video of the English's language's greatest works (a classic movie, for example) dubbed over in Japanese for a Japanese audience, I wouldn't mind. It lets them enjoy the beauty of our culture as much as we do.

  • I like your comments. i'm with you. Animes sucks when dubbed into english, it's way better with japanese voices and (Any language) subs. Japanese voices are like full of feelings and style... i don't know

  • amen to that

  • You gotta like the english ver. but you gotta love the Japanese ver. to this side of the FMV.

  • kumi koda voice does not fit yuna's

  • I don't think so.

Both are unique in their ways.

(based on their voice, comment by myself)

    Japanese Ver. = Tough Yuna

    English Ver. = Dedicative Yuna

    :)

  • It wasn't meant for Yuna it was meant for Lenne. Yuna would of course have the bubbly pop sound of the English Version, but Lenne's voice is powerful and emotion filled, which is what Koda Kumi brought for Lenne not Yuna.

  • both versions are good..it's just that kumi koda has a stronger voice than jade..

  • it's the same vid idiot

  • Haha, no. N00b.

  • Haha, no. N00b.

  • yeah..lenne and yuna had a duet on teh english version..

  • Exactly. (:

  • bestest version i've seen for this version.

    :D ♥

  • koda kumi does have a lovely voice but i think it's too mature for a Yuna whos only suppose to be 19

  • Word..

  • Yes I totally agree, but the fact is Koda Kumi was not singing for Yuna, she was singing for Lenne. Who obviously has a much more of a riveting and powerful voice then Yuna would have.

  • this woman has a lovely voice. to be honest i prefer both versions...but this one is nicer...

  • man i like this so much more than the english 1, the voice of koda kumi is just so much more pure and the lyrics are alot better than the english 1

  • To me, although Koda Kumi has a lovely voice, it just doesn't fit Yuna at all. Just something about her voice didn't sound like Yuna

  • Exactly! it wasn't Yuna it was Lenne. You see in the English version they wanted Yuna's voice to be shown, but in the Japanese version they wanted Lenne to be the star not Yuna. You see where I am going with this?

  • Comment removed

  • To be honest, while I love the American version of this song, I've always found this one so much more powerful. Not just in voice but in visual. Thanks for the upload.

  • I didn't mind Jade singing real emotion, sounded more american anyway. But for this, Koda Kumi ownsx100, so more passion, and a really strong voice. Too bad neither of them actually ressemble Yuna, still great netherless.

  • Good! I like 1000 words too. This game is amazing ^^

  • Koda Kumi's voice is better suited for singing Real Emotion because her voice is stronger. But Jade's softer voice matches 1000 Words better.

  • I like the English version better.

  • I like the sound of the english version but i love this video =)

  • The Japanese version of the Video rocks!!

  • can you please send me this video! i beg of you x3

  • You can go to filefront and type in Sen no kotoba and you should be able to find it pretty easily.

  • It´s really beautiful.. But I still think her voice doesn´t fit Yuna...

  • For some odd reason, I rarely listens to this in english... But I can't stop listening in japanese.... Nice job ^_^

  • The song is actually called "Sen no Kotoba" (Or "1000 no Kotoba" if you don't want to use the japanese for 1000 = sen)

I love the Japanese version of this song, it's even better than in English. ^.^
