Katie is Kerry's daughter. I was at that concert. It was one of a few times Kerry came back to play with the band, because it was a Kansas City venue. He has a farm about an hour from KC. And Katie did a great job, even though I think she was nervous. But I'm sure she was also proud to be playing with KANSAS and her dad, on a classic song her dad wrote. And the crowd loved her!

The girl on the violin is so lucky. My life would be complete if Kansas would allow me to perform with them and play violin in Dust in the Wind. They are giving a concert near here next week, maybe I'll ask them ! ! !

I recall one day when I picked up grandmas newspaper and listening to dust in the wind..then ....there it was a photo of a buddist monk who had just set himself on fire.
I will forever remember the song because of that photo.the year was 77

I have so much to say about this song. One thing I will say is that it lead me on my path to Christ. Once I heard that Kansas members became Christians I had to know. They made songs that I liked. Let's rock Exodus from October to beyond!

Somehow in 2000, during Steve's billygoat-beard days, his voice was pretty dang good. This is cute that Kerry's daughter was on stage! And played very well I might add...she musta been SO nervous and this came out great. Thanks for posting this.

A lady I know that is/was one of his better friends hasn't been able to get him to even return an email or call. I know he was fed up, and the music means so much to him. If he was ever an arrogant a hole, it was never in my presence, you can see the kindness in his eyes, but more recently, I had also seen resignation in his eyes, probably from years of music biz fights and bullshite. Do u know?

@debbiechickie5 He is one of the gentlest souls you could encounter. Being from Lawrence as he, and in the band scene, I kinda fell into the Robby Ring. Im not his very closest friend, but we were friends. I can see his sensitivity making him want to hide away, but the world is a little dimmer without his smile. I really need to search all of my message areas and email to find my contact that was going to visit him if he kept ignoring calls. Maybe he needs the space, but too much isnt healthy,

This is Steve Walsh singing, he got real old, lol. I saw them on tour in the same year. He can still sing but not hit the high notes as good.

Great band. I met Steve W. briefly at the Atlanta NAMM show back in the 70's. They used to play the Electric Ballroom in Atlanta.
