She was a journalist. Her research took her to the mullah no zones. She was to be jailed for 8 years after figuring it out. She was let free as a nice gesture to Americans. I wouldn't be talking as an American if I were you because things like this in that government are never heard about. CNN and Fox News won't tell you about things like this the other way. Everyone is terrorists and anyone who figures out the truth is a conspiracy theorist.

CNN and FOX news are not news it's entertainment, ratings and money machines, all the news anchors on those networks including NBC, CBS, ABC don't know which way the wind is blowing, they just read what's on the screen.

Iran should not go after a journalist like that but you know they do ....!

I dont know what the mullah no zone is but the obvious thing here is that she was either finding things out in her research or something like that too deep into things and since they had someone follow her around I guess they were kind of keeping a tab. I think it was also the regime's way of scaring other journalists to do proper research.

Last year an Iranian citizen who spied for Israel was executed. So, of course even if she would have beens sentenced to 8 years it would have been a political sentence.

I think this was a show of rationality in Iran's government. They first showed sovereignty and made a conviction that was clearly against the Empire and racist American sentiment, who think they are being "free and tolerant". Second they showed that they are able to form a compromise between a total puppet of the Western Capitalists and total extermist Islamist terrorism against a state that they object politically. It all kicks American ass in ideas and diplomacy.
