Tried doing the setup you said. The rom ended up being > 4.3 gb though after unzipping (larger than FAT32 can store on an sd card). Anyone know if there's a smaller rom of bt5 available or if there's a workaround?

Do "ls" when you get in the terminal emulator, and see if you see anything that resembles an sd card. Try rebooting before trying. Is it a Motorola?

Hey man I've just started playing around with BT5 on my PC, and I also own an Android phone. I'm just wondering, what's the point of getting it to run if you can't do packet injection? I guess maybe I haven't explored enough of BT5 yet. I'm not really sure what it's entirely capable of.

Hey, well it's just an awesome proof of concept to be able to run a Lunux hacking OS on your phone. Also, the G1 is able to do packet injection, and I think they're working in injection drivers for other phones too. Someone mentioned here the SGS2 supports injection. But it has some cool stuff like wireshark and other programs that are still very useful without having to carry your laptop.

hey man ive got an ideos x5 and its rooted and everything. when i get to the emulator i type in the 'su' and then the message comes up saying ive given this program superuser permissions then i type in "cd sdcard" then enter and there is nothing there, i continue to type "cd bt5" and it still just goes down the line and does nothing. i then type in "sh bt" and then it comes up with alot of errors saying file not found and files dont exist and so on. any idea on how to fix this?

Does your phone support SD cards? Type "ls" and it will list all the folders, look for anything that resembles a memory card.

Well if I were you, I would put Cyanogen mod on it. Then put BT5. Cyanogen mod is so awesome, I have it on my HD2. Takes off all the bloatware.

It's just different compression. 1:03 the download is 700mb, the same as the backtrack site one. But once you uncompressed (extract) either one, they come out to ~3.5gb.

It will not be compatible with the internal WIFI card. If you want that, go for the Nokia N900.

I did what you told me about the ports 5901 or 5900 and i did get to backtrack 5 arm gui but i got an error: "There is a problem with the configuration server. (/usr/lib/libgconf2-4/gconf-sa­nity-check-2 exited with status 256" so all I get is a white screen with this error.

Thank you for this tutorial it is very helpful, however it did not work for me all the way I just get to the konsole/terminal and I can actually access nmap, metasploit and other tools but can't get to the "GUI".

THEORETICALLY you could run your entire phone to operate on Backtrack - all you need to do is download the applications again, but you cannot get away with all of your little 50 cent games - and you would have to manually configure the data route into individual folders.

They should make BackTrack with an Android Phone in mind, then nowhere would be safe.

Correct. You're very smart for pointing that out. I have the VNC server to display the phone on my monitor on the default port 5900. And the backtrack GUI VNC port on 5901. =D
