  • @Harkz0r >plays on an NES

    >not 8-bit

well herp mai derp it seems u no moar about dis than i do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • @Harkz0r

    Define 8-bit then...

I'm sure Famitracker is an 8-bit music maker.

  • @Harkz0r Either your brain is malfunctioning or you be trollin.

  • @Harkz0r fuck yah gxscc is more 8 bit than the simulation of famicom and nes sound chips

  • @nintendude8VG

    Do you know MDR?

    I believe you're a friend of his.

  • @x3Roenie yeah i do

  • @Harkz0r Someone never heard of MSX...

  • @Harkz0r Even the original MegaDrive music was 8-bit considering it ran off an 8-bit Zilog Z80, which acted as the MegaDrive's coprocessor.

  • @Pirochiro

Yeah, it seems it used the 16-bit processor for the 16 bit games, and the 8-bit coprocessor for the master system converter. And I swear I sometimes hear 8 bit music in a 16 bit game. :|

  • @aidanrayner999 That's because 16-bit processors can also use 8-bit sounds, if I'm not incorrect.

  • @KaosuKaiari

    A quote from Wikipedia:

"Texas Instruments SN76489 - It contains three square wave tone generators and one white noise generator."

    I think that's the definition of 8-bit.

Also, the master system uses this chip (note that it uses the SN76489A, it's just a newer version).

    TL;DR: Yes. You are right.

  • @aidanrayner999 The Genesis contains both an "8-bit" PSG (same as Master System and Game Gear) and a "16-bit" synthesizer chip. It often used both in the same game. The Game Boy Advance also has the old Game Boy sound chip along with the newer one. And yeah, like KaosuKaiari said, a more advanced synthesizer can make primitive sounds, though that's not usually the case.

Oh, and if you hear a system like the SNES or PlayStation doing 8-bit, it's really just playing a recording of 8-bit sounds.

  • @3dmarth

I suppose that the reason why the 8-bit Game Boy sound chip is inside the GBA and GBASP is because it uses that chip for the older games. e.g. GB and GBC.

  • @Harkz0r It's running in Famitracker. Your argument is invalid.

  • @Harkz0r it is 8-bit. It was made in Famitracker which simulates 8-bit.

  • good job, nice remix :D

  • @6Dark6Age6 Great skill, btw. :D

  • @6Dark6Age6 Is this a joke?

  • @hustlax what should be a joke?!

  • @6Dark6Age6 The comment about it being from Mega Man X. I think you might have been referring to how this remix has many qualities to the music in that game. On second thought, your question is valid.

  • @hustlax this is a remix of Sonic & Knuckles Music (i dont remember which level however). for the SEga genesis made by Sega in 1995

  • @SuperDave341 I know that. I don't even remember what that comment was about in the first place.
