@GameKingMartin Yea, maybe 2.5 years ago when this video was uploaded, at which point we had been playing the game for what, maybe a week or two? Even then, combo videos are not accurate indicators of "skill" since the only clips that go into them are ones where the unfeatured party is getting owned.

You only put all the best moments you could into the video, but you're still a VERY good G&W player. Difficult to stop many of those combos you were pulling. I'm working on G&W and still havin a little trouble with turtling properly. Any tips?

turtling as a form of approach definitely took some practice. You just have to get a feel for rushing forward and running the opposite direction just before you jump so that you turtle (instead of Fair-ing).

Otherwise, a lot of the turtle's use is in how little lag it has. This allows it to be randomly pulled out of nowhere, which adds a mindgame factor, and quick damage (or a shield-raping) if you catch your opponent in it.

i'd say that comes down to presentation - I was pretty stupid in leaving the opening song play the whole way through, because a lot of people seem to think its boring, and probably quit watching before the jazz police (second song) kicks in. Really, the only reason I leave this video up is to show some entry-level G&W combos, primarily in the air. I may consider making a sequel with some decent music, but until then, thanks for watching =)

I ever play nice with Mr. Game & Watch, but when i play with him with another friends, im nervious, and i never play like must be. But any way, i like so much Mr. Game & Watch, i have a mode for make 9 sometimes in the correct moment, the numbers change and repeat ever in a one form, you can discover it, i dont know, but for i ever, for instinct, found the 9 in that hammer, in the past, becuse, now i lose the rithm and dont know idea how to make it. Good luck for next challenges.

Agreed with video creator. Also, this video was from APRIL. This was just an introduction video for Game and Watch's future. Don't expect him to play the same way now as he did back then.

Anyway, I watched this video back in early May, and, although the metagame developed and this looks less impressive, it was amazing in those beginning days. Well done.

the down throw to the down smash works against weak smashers, any good one would tech out of the way and the downsmash would not hit them

you dont have to use the c-stick. i do. if you use c-stick u can get the smash attacks easier. a c-sticking game and watch vs a non c-sticking game and watch of the same skill levels=c-stick wins.

that is an extremely Wrong statement. first of all, Magzillas just said that he does. Second, the is a reason why it is there: to be used! Pro Ice Climbers need the C-stick to use many of the advanced techniques, C-Stick set to specials helps the Earthbound users, and Wavebouncing is easy with the "B-Stick." I personally only use the C-Stick for the above reasons especially for Olimar.

I personally don't use judgement because that leaves a lot to luck - but if you dig those beast 9's then I would recommend using it off a shorthop, especially as a ledge recovery.

As for a dash U-Smash, I wouldn't recommend using it for game & watch just because of how slow it is - turtle is usually a much better approach and block, F-Smash, or D-Smash are usually better finishers due to their speed.

Thanks for posting this. I'm trying to make a Mr. G&W video too and this has given me a few ideas. I also respect that you show you fighting multiple characters instead of the same one every time. I, unfortunately, are usually restricted to fighting Toon Link and Zelda.

Also, how do you, personally, use the turtle move twice in a row. I constantly find it a hassle to turn the control stick the opposite way just to repeat the attack. Thanks!

well, after the first turtle extends, i release the control stick back to neutral, so i land facing opposite my opponent. Then i can just backward shorthop into another turtle. Putting these all together makes a double turtle chain that's usually easy dmg for large or fast-falling characters
