Not sure Maxthon is big in U.S.A but, if you sure Maxthon good for you if not then i guess Maxthon is not for you. Other people like Safari,Internet explorer, Mozilla depends what is your taste.
i would like to know how to skin and install addons on windows 7, maxthon 3, it downloads to a folder and when i open it it cant find what program to use to install the addon or skin. maddening.
how do you stop the tabs????? every time i click on something ANOTHER tab opens up......meaning i can hit the home button 10x and i will have 10 different tabs open....is there a way to stop this??
Maxthon is the best browser I have ever experienced. Got all the functions I like.
The manual AD filter of Maxthon 3 works PERFECT!! Simply click the ad you want to get rid of, and then you will never see them again. So easy to use and it never fails.
As you point out, Maxthon 3's 'Magic Fill' is not a great way for storing passwords since it's a security problem as any user of your computer can unhide the passwords. Your better off downloading and using Keepass for storing passwords as you can then protect all your passwords with a master password - A tip here is to add Keypass to Maxthon's External tools menu, then you can just cut and paste passwords. Dropbox will let you sync passwords between machines too which is real handy.
I've got 30 different webbrowsers on this machine at the moment because I'm a web developer so I pretty much know about all of them, mouse gestures is on Opera and the first webbrowser to use them is Opera.
@Omegra which do you think is the best of all of them? I'm not speaking about just speed or power, I'm talking about overall usability, performance and features.
@Thatguywiththelaptop Opera has tons of features, easily usable, great performance (for my needs) but you might want to wait a few months if you plan on switching to Opera (for when they release the next version). FireFox and Maxthon are by far the worst browsers, can become sudden resource hogs and are very insecure (yes, even compared to IE), Chrome is horrible all round. But by recommendations are.. as a general web surfer Chrome. As a power user Opera.
@Omegra thanks, I'm planning on doing a huge review on just about every single browser on the internet worth reviewing. And I'm already using Opera :)
@aer8862357 You should extract them to the Skins folder under the folder where Maxthon 3 is loaded; 32bit- C:\Program Files\Maxthon3\Skins Or C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxthon3 for 64bit users.. Once you restart M3 they should be listed as a selectable option.
God, I love your voice. It's so soothing. :)

Though I am not sure, I do believe Maxthon invented the "tab" function. Maxthon users can browse with multi tabs and mouse gestures since 2003
