@HitachiZaxis450LC Sometimes we drove from town, sometimes we stayed in our campers, This job was a high grade gravel road construction project for a large oil company....they plan on drilling many gas wells in the area
@CDNcatskinner Any advice on getting that license that you could let a newbie in on? It's the only profession I know of that you get to play in the dirt and get paid for it. Sorry for the double video comment.
is that a cattle drive going up the road at 0:35?!?!?
@Fireheart528 There are some operator training courses around, it may even get to the point that tickets will be required in the future...I got in the old way, I went to work for an uncle that trained me right after high school, didn't get on a seat right away, had to work as a labourer, putting in culverts and fueling machines...I think a good way to get started is just send a resume in and start at the bottom
Awesome Jeff!! Well at least you can video from the grader....you could be stuck in the scraper...LOL....and great to see the cattle drive....I've been on a couple myself.....short hauls... and glad to see you're keeping busy!
I think this drive was about 20k drive, going from private ranchland to a gov't lease....it would be hard to film in the buggy...i would end up eating the ditch or the cam
...and finding a song like "get-a-long little doggie" is impossible to find....ya its got the AC and thank god for that...its been over 30 for the past 2 weeks...thx klass!
hey...we used to have "the bear" here in ottawa to. it was the same logo and bear growl until they were bought out by virgin radio about 6 months ago. I miss the old bear. great video.
Real horses...and...cows? For real? I really am a city girl!!! To see that was really shockingly cool! I'm glad you filmed that. My fave part!!! are you enjoying yourself?
oh yeah!! cattle drives and shootouts happen daily!....jk! I am enjoying this, actually thinking about doing this for real and giving up the other gig, but who knows, I'm a whore for money right now and I may change my mind again...but the pay is really good doing this too and much less hassel
Yep still going and it sounds like a lot of work to go....and you are right, its not happy happy fun time when we get back to the shacks at night when its above 30 all day
Thanks...I am liking the equipment, just got another 2 new(er) G series scrapers so I am hoping they upgrade me to a 872D now that we have 5 scrapers going
You know what Jeff it's a damn good life. Beautiful country, cattle, horses, big trucks, HD equipment, rigging on the move....you nailed it. Built a nice road too!
I noticed that when you buy deere tractors now you just paying for the name
I've looked at several tractors from them all with plastic fenders and body attached to a metal frame..
