2. Transgender sibling update. Surgery!

One thing that occurs to me is that if your brother is a real trans-gender (I am not doubting his sincerity) it may not be easy to have a sister who is as beautiful as you. I hope that you can be as supportive as possible to him but make certain to respect your own needs and limits. Show him that you love him..maybe turning into her but do not compromise your development and life. Best wishes to you both...and be aware that leopards cannot change their spots:)

I think it's pretty great that you care about your brother so much. And I would be thrilled to have a sister or brother who cares about me, like you do for him. As a trans guy who is still unable to afford top surgery, I understand his pain. I'm still living with having to bind every day. I'm sure your sibling will be much happier and maybe more open to having a closer relationship with you some day. If you can't see him in person, just ring him up and let him know he's in your thoughts.

I also want to say that I understand that it is a loss for you too. You once had a sister, even though you mentioned he was like a brother when you were younger anyway, to you he was your sister. And I hope you can find some support for that, because too often we expect our families and friends to just "get it" and "get over it" and I actually don't think that is fair. Yes, you are gaining a brother, but for you, you have also lost a sister, and that is a fair thing for you to grieve.

It's not politically correct for me to say so, but I don't think we acknowledge that loss. We expect support, when people haven't experienced us, as we have seen ourselves, so I think we should be more patient with our friends/family who may make the occasional mistakes w/ the gender pronouns. I hope your brother's surgery went well, & I hope you two can become closer siblings. Take it from someone who has no family. I'd do anything to have family & I think your brother is lucky to have you.

is you brother going to... get the downstairs operation? I sore a picture of what they can do these days. it's not very convincing. You can tell the skin came from somewhere else.

This may sound nieve but I often think it better to have a proper set of the genitals you don’t what then a pain imitation of the kind you do want.

I think he agrees with you though and last time we talked about it he said it involved taking a lot of skin from your legs or arms etc to make it and it leaves you scared, also I don't think he is too into penis' but i think if i was wanting to be a bloke i would want one!

I watched this video and read some of the comments and I just wanted to apologize for some of the ignorant people who are insensitive about your brother or clearly misunderstanding about what you are talking about, i.e. thinking that you are transgendered. I really think it is wonderful how supportive and obviously loving you are of him even if you don't have a super-close relationship with him. I think I would have a sense of discord towards a sibling for that, if you are understanding of his situation then he should be of yours, the world is constantly changing and it's not so radical that someone of Jewish belief would date someone who isn't...I'm sorry if saying so offends any narrow minded people, but it's just my opinion...you should just keep being supportive and maybe (hopefully) your brother will see sense and support you and your partner in return

Thinking on how i myself have it, then i must say that i am pretty insecure about myself, about who i am, witch spils over to making me a bit introvert, not wanting to talk to people as much, because i am insecure, ashamed and such about my self.

i see that you are a bit upset.. im in the situation that your brother is in but in the opposite sex it is super frustrated to go through any changes. and by that i mean if you are frustrated that hes having the operation is 100x harder for us to even start thinking of doing the things we do, surgeries, hormone treatment you know the whole deal is really really hard.. put ur feelings aside and go give hima hug tell him he looks strong and all it will make his day i promise.
