It's a great song, love the guitar work. It think it's a combination of Kansas, LSD, Pink Floyd, and of course Uli Roth (who's the best) and the Scorps. Thanks for the upload, one of the best songs ever.
Beyond epic --sadly most people do NOT know the Scorps early years.....Truly epic band --sadly they get lumped in with cheesy hair bands from the80's -- does NOT do them justice --Tru insult to this incredible band and their long jevity....and early years --so far ahead of their time --easily one of the greatest bands of all time -any genre --maybe even #1....
@loudenvier Iron Maiden transformed and evolved their sound away from this, but clearly, yes, they are influenced big time by Scorpions. But their sound is still different, and is "trademark" to them, I mean, no-one's legato is quite as good as Dave Murrays ;)
The guitar in Scorpions songs and Thin Lizzy songs were way ahead of their time. Lyrically early scorpions songs were not very good. I'll give them a break since theyre German. But, the musicianship was excellent.
@Azurian Urlich Roth always seemed to have heavy Hendrix influence.
He doesn't get the credit but he could have probably mopped the floor with most of the 70's guitar legends that are hailed today. Check out "Sails of Charon" or "Catch Your Train"
@KarimAustin316 LSD has nothing to do with the meaning. Maybe they had taken some before? But this is just another long line of strange, brilliant songs by The Scorpions.
Amazing band. Uli was a bit a fan of Hendrix though. Haha. I get that. If you've ever heard Tokyo Tapes you would know how baddass they were. Laters
the introduction on classical guitars could have sounded a lot better in a more classical aproach..nevertheless it is superior.. this instrument was a great choice indeed
@soniramsonitnatsnok Well this was more experimental as this was the foundation of Neo Classical lol but if it was more modern it probably would have been.
@LordGandor3 i 100% agree with you man i recently herd this song in my dads car and i said damn this is a kick ass song and is way better then anything u will hear on the radio now a days : )
What a magic song! Ulrich was amaizing back then with the Strat!! I wish he would do a tour with the Strat for the old stuff just once before he fades away
This song means something special to me. Thank you G . S. To listen to the words carefully he is missing her and all is bleak but, her smiling face is what he remembers.he does love her.
Jimi influenced is only on his phrasing and rhythm playing, when its solo its Uli originals. This song credit with Michael and Uli played the Acoustic intro! Beautyiful player!
What a great song! You could take 99% of the garbage called music today and it wouldn't come close to this! I've seen him do it live twice. Ridiculous! He's in his own league.

Life is empty, can´t remember anytime before,
On a plain lit cold December, see it evermore,
Gliding through this life, and another is a child,
and we´re doing games, and losing things,
Always playing gigs.
Somewhere in the sky, where the moon the stars shine bright,
Where the sun is shining, in the night.
I am in disgrace, yet i see a smiling face,
and i hope you let me, share your place.
I don´t live today.
