Yes, Dane Whitehouse was a decent player, and it was unfortunate that he never played again after that tackle, but having seen the incident at first hand (it happened right in front of me) in no way did he act maliciously. The tackle was legitimate attempt to get the ball, sadly these things happen. It certainly didn't warrant Dane's dad getting aboard the Vale bus and trying to start a fight with him after the return game.
