Hey, awesome video. Myself and three others are hoping to complete a tour from Scotland to the dessert at M'hamid sometime during the summer to raise money for charity. It's obviously a massive undertaking and any advice on cycling to M'hamid would be much appreciated. Also, what camera is it you have used for this footage? Many thanks.
This is great - this sets the bar for recording a bike tour by video - captures what a good tour is all about. Really inspiring. The variety of shots and the editing (plus the music) all make it highly watchable!
BTW - how did you get the shot that is from the rear left of the bicycle - can't see how you can have shot it without someone doing it for you or it was attached to some kind of bar extending from the bike - nice shot
@deuanllewelyngerman I was carrying a fairly large photographic tripod. To get the rear shots I fully exended the tripod (with the legs together) and tied it down across the rear panier bags. I positioned it so that it stuck out about a meter on the left side.
Nice video. You've really captured what cycle touring feels like. I'm in Morocco myself at the moment doing a solo touring trip through the High Atlas and Middle Atlas. It's a great country for cyling.
Hi, i plan a similar trip. Can any point me in the wright direction with general advise and routes etc on planning a solo cycling trip through Morocco, I.e books, blogs, websites and so on?
Any help would be really appreciated. Cheers. Dan.
Nice video. We had similar weather in the mountains (the road was closed twice) but we managed luckily to reach Tizi-n-Tischka. During the descent the rescue team in a pick-up offered us ...an obligatory lift :)
Nice vid, some good shots. I went to Morocco last year and fell for the place. Thinking about taking the bike back in the near future. This has only encouraged me.
Is that a riverside 5 bike?

@moonboots222
I used a Panasonic Lumix LX3 with a Pansonic DMW-LW46 wide angle & a Nikon FC-E9 fisheye.
I also carried a Manfrotto 714B tripod.

Man- your trip and bike look awesome! Well done and tremendous effort in compiling all those video shorts.
I am going to morocco this year from 8th Sept till 8th Oct to do a similar thing with my bicycle.
Did you camp at all? or was it generally too cold ? Did most people you come across speak french?
(I was going to go solo, but If anyone reading this wants to come along - give me a message or something)
Wish me luck peeps!
(Inshallah i'll make it back to the UK in one piece!)

I camped in the desert, but it was too cold in the mountains (I had no tent).
Almost everyone understands French.
Will send you more detailed info directly.

Did you plan and sort it yourself?

I did. I had a basic route planned before I started, but heavy snow in the mountains forced me to change it once I got there.
The roads are generally very good. Just make sure you don't try to do it in the middle of summer!
