So universal music playback was advertised in this firmware update in video, in person by a PlayStation guy but it's STILL not on the PS3. Sony couldn't even respect and care about us enough to tell us this feature was not coming in 2.40. Where is cross chat, universal game invites, universal music playback, improved in game xmb? if you won't do it on the current ps3s than release a new ps3 with more ram just like you did with the PSP.

newest is 3.1 but thats optional. You do need 3.0 tho. 3.1 just fixes sumthing in uncharted i think.

Ps3 firmware 3.0 was going to have the cross game chat but they didn't because of EA games wouldn't work with the feature but sony is still working on it maybe in the next firmware update they will have cross game chat.

well heres the deal..... sony made a preview of firmware 3.00 they DID NOT mention it in the video and on the blog, BUT a very very reliable souce who guessed firmware 2.80 and the features of the slim b4 they were out. he was 100% correct on both. now he said tht cross game chat is in 3.00. sony was going to surprise us. get those headsets ready!!!

No it's nothing to do with microsoft copyrighting it...if that was the case then there would be NO games with in-game music..it's all about the devs implementing the feature just like trophies. Every 360 game comes with achievements and ingame music because Microsoft demanded it however Sony didn't..it was optional for devs to implement the feature.

Microsoft did copyright it Microsoft uses universal software that was implanted into the 360 which allows this feature however playstation found a different way to this and thats up to the devs theres more than one way around this problem and sony found the other way.

Go to system settings and resume PS3 system. This will empty all your data on hardrive and put PS3's default settings back. After that you need to get all updates again. You're lucky that it didn't die completely.

very very few systems were damaged. It seems most of the problem comes from too many people downloading at one time and the downloads get screwed up. Data is easily corrupted.
