see if you can get verizon fios in your area, its well worth it, i had some trouble getting installed in my area cause it "wasnt ready" but I had called every now and than and after about a month and a half I got it. I got the fastest connection they have and i have to say its damn fast (and i do a lot of downloads, mainly torrents and p2p)
I happily dumped comcast 2 years ago,for a local ISP. The local Isp is cheaper $30.00/mo and are easily accessable if you develop a problem. Also I dumped my comcast cable television.I was tired for paying $50.00/MO for what they think qualifies for entertainment,or anything with any substantive value.
I don't believe in putting caps on net usage, you're paying for it at the end of the day and Comcast need to be reminded that there are other Internet providers out there that will simply take their business. Logically we see an internet download speed means how fast you can download offline, but Comcast is saying they can't sustain that speed if all users do it! So that can only mean it's not really a realistic speed for the node! They are trying to trick you into thinking it is, they cut you off after using it for awhile.
The REAL BS about this plan is simple.... they should simply limit the download speed of the node so there is no chance of any issue arising! Instead they want to advertise full unlimited download SPEED but not mention the monthly capacity. So is the download speed so important if you can't use it 24/7??????
The problem is inherently with Comcasts side. Do you understand exactly what they're complaining about? They think limiting your downloads each month will help keep their advertised download speeds possible. So instead of screwing up the node that all the users are using you will simply be unable to access it.

NO you quit your whining. Listen, I appreciate the service of an ISP. I pay an ISP my hard earned money to show appreciation. If the customer wants even more service (more than 250gb/month) it's only rational customers should have an opportunity to pay for more service -- which from a business standpoint means more opportunity for the ISP to profit.

While I empathise with your principles, I don't exactly agree with you. 250 GB is a hell of a lot of usage. I think that anyone who exceeds that limit is engaged in illegal file sharing anyway, so can not have any sympathy with them.

see if you can get verizon fios in your area, its well worth it, i had some trouble getting installed in my area cause it "wasnt ready" but I had called every now and than and after about a month and a half I got it. I got the fastest connection they have and i have to say its damn fast (and i do a lot of downloads, mainly torrents and p2p)

I happily dumped comcast 2 years ago,for a local ISP. The local Isp is cheaper $30.00/mo and are easily accessable if you develop a problem. Also I dumped my comcast cable television.I was tired for paying $50.00/MO for what they think qualifies for entertainment,or anything with any substantive value.

I don't believe in putting caps on net usage, you're paying for it at the end of the day and Comcast need to be reminded that there are other Internet providers out there that will simply take their business. We have had this sort of thing in the UK aswell but it came to nothing, the companies if they are smart will know this is not a wise option.

Logically we see an internet download speed means how fast you can download offline, but Comcast is saying they can't sustain that speed if all users do it! So that can only mean it's not really a realistic speed for the node! They are trying to trick you into thinking it is, they cut you off after using it for awhile.

The REAL BS about this plan is simple.... they should simply limit the download speed of the node so there is no chance of any issue arising! Instead they want to advertise full unlimited download SPEED but not mention the monthly capacity. So is the download speed so important if you can't use it 24/7??????

The problem is inherently with Comcasts side. Do you understand exactly what they're complaining about? They think limiting your downloads each month will help keep their advertised download speeds possible. So instead of screwing up the node that all the users are using you will simply be unable to access it.

yeah it does take a lot for a normal user to use 250 gigs but sooner or later Comcast is going to start lowering the limit more and more. Until finally it WILL affect the normal user and by then it will be too late, because all major ISPs will have limits too. So I agree , we should try to do something before its too late.

Perhaps a handful of ultra-extreme abusers have prompted the policy? If so, the few are probably fair game for intervention (perhaps a scale of additional fees based on ultra-extreme usage). Really? I disagree! Do you know how many videos that I watch online in a months time? Probably, on average 6000+. Some of those videos are 2 minutes and some are 10 minutes, plus all the other stuff, Shit just in emails, I get about 2300 a day. It is pathetic!

The only reason why they're doing this is to incrementally discourage the flow of information for the scumbags who capitalize on copyrighted material. Otherwise they would charge more when you go over 250 gigs instead of completely banishing you for an entire year.
