i think the shoegaze thing comes from bands who just stand on stage and stare at their feet. not saying that m83 does that. they just fall into that category of sound.

hey man i really think vampire weekend sounds more like a mix of the format and the shins, either way great music, I'll subscribe, and by the way, i cant get the chord structure right on the song Memory Lane by Elliott Smith, theres a tutorial on youtube but its really dark and i couldn't get it, if you could do a tutorial on that it would be awesome and you should definitely check out Band of Horses although you've probably already heard of them.

Great selection here, was incidentally listening to Windowstill by Arcade Fire before watching this.

Just to put this out there, anyone who enjoyed M83 and shoegazing in general should check out My Bloody Valentine or Asobi Seksu. Both are great introduction into the genre, and represent the best of its class.

He is going to release a new record, just him I think, not Bright Eyes as a Band, in August, and it will have those new songs. You need to listen to them , they are amazing, great lyrics as usual.

Saw vampire weekend a while ago on Jools Holland live and they were really impressive. Loved their New York sound. Haven't been listening to a great deal of new stuff lately so not too much new to recommend. But check out the new Portishead album. Still a top band.
