  • Windows 8 boots faster.

  • Xp.. LOL

  • Dude it not supposed to use an ssd with XP, it aint got TRIM support...whatever, ur loss....

  • I never knew SSD's make Vacumm noises..

  • @firewaia trying reading a bit more before saying shit dumbass.

  • w7 need 10 sec :)

  • My windows is faster sin this ssd for gays mac´s y pc, windows xp forever 1 minute completed startup all system

  • Comment removed

  • @HumzaAhmed155 you can see windows loading at normal speed, dumbass.

  • jesus

  • @joerush25 mooi toch sneller dan windows 7 ^^

  • OMG, Windows without antivirus

  • Next time try with tons of games and other programs installed then I'll be impressed :P

  • and that's on xp too... try it on 7 it'll turn on as soon as you press the button.

    maybe not.

  • wtf was that ?

  • Ssd and win xp are NOT really meant to be together. win 7 is designed to make sure ssd's run at their best and NOT degrade as much in performance, let alone longevity, over time. Just fork out the bucks and get win 7 or win 7 pro x64 and save your self alot of tweaking headache..and also NOT have to worry if all those Xp tweaks will allow your ssd to function longer than one to two measly years.

  • @chronofusion

windows xp make for sdd lozer

  • Nie sory ja byłem u kolegi coś patrzyliśmy i tak walnął więc to do niego się przypierdalaj ;d

  • XD Windows xp with SSD !!

  • co ty kurwa chciałeś pokazać chuju?

  • @salinuwa Ty serio piszesz czy jesteś umysłowo niepełnosprytny?

  • Wow, regular Mac does it in 8-10 sec.

  • @Gluston WOW, NOBODY GIVES A FUCK.

  • @xMinimariox 40K+ views says otherwise tard

  • OMG

  • My Mac is equally fast/faster.

  • @spikemp I'm just gonna say this once: Shut The Fuck Up About Your Mac.... Actually, I think I'll have a T-shirt made with that printed on the front.

  • intel ssd is much better!

  • Holy $hit now thats what i call a fast boot >:D

  • dude.... that is a bad SSD drive...

my 7200rpm should be slower , but its twice as fast !!!

    you need some lessons...

  • Ubuntu 10.04 starts up that fast with a crappy 250gb HDD :)

  • i don't see why everyone is in such a rush to have an uber expensive hd setup just to affect load times, most of which are miniscule anyway besides booting up, has no significant affect whatsoever on game performance. oh yeah and people who think having 2 hard drives somehow makes them fucking invincible when they surf the net. surfs up retards, surfs up.

  • @OmnipotentSquid calm down pussy cat

  • Stop false capitalisions please. There is no SamSung, WinDows, MicroSoft, NinTendo or PanaSonic.

  • There is no difference in speed if you install a fresh copy of windows either in SSD or IDE or SATA. It only make a differences if you install a program like Photoshop, Adobe Primere and other Heavy programs.

  • I heard once you go ssd, you never go back.

  • ssd are too expensive

  • What is that turbine-like noise in the background? Is someone vacuuming or is it your pc?

  • either static or pc. very good fans if pc

  • @grinsimitation

    I think its a huricane.

  • Windows 3.1 on 90MHz Intel: 12sec.

  • MS-DOS 3.30 on 4.77 MHz Intel 8088: 12 sec. too^^

  • @TheLotharable

I'll send you a set of config.sys and autoexec.bat to improve that.

  • @RFDlic

The autoexec.bat is clean (only DATE and TIME) and config.sys is loading HIMEM...

    I don't think there's much to improve...

  • But why is your system so f****** slow?

  • @RFDlic I don't, maybe I's because I have to load the DOS-System from 5.25' Floppy Disks... :D

  • haha, thats such a good point!!

  • my jaws seriously dropped in amazement O.O

  • its a long boot... sorry... i don't have a ssd and my windows xp without programms boot in <12 second...

  • dream on

  • @turb0trk Yeah, no its not.

  • my hdd starts up that fast after it has fresh win with nothing on it : )

  • couldn't you tell this was a clean install.

  • it is said in the description "Right after install the Window XP SP3. "

  • @lolopit: that's my point; fresh install = low boot times. One can't make a real comparision between HDDs and SSDs until it gets closer to the "real world" scenario.

And that means lots of applications installed, not a fresh install.

However, SSDs ARE WAY faster than HDDs, for "real world" usage. Mostly, anyways. From my experience, it varies from 5x to 34x in speed (faster than HDDs).

  • And the windows is fresh installed :(

  • sansung is slow if compair to a corsair SSD

  • please take a look at the date too -_- 28. Juni 2008

read also about benchmarks of the different ssds's

  • If are then diferent, the slower DDS could be cheaper than the faster.

  • sorry I don't understand any word :D

  • yes of course the cheap ass sansung is slow, but this is SAMSUNG

  • good job !

  • Wait, wait...no anti-virus? OK, SP3, but no real applications? I mean, DB+web+file server, or, if that person does not work with that, it's OK to assume they work with some kind of Office (which I can't see in the video as well), or listen to some music, chat in MSN, not to mention web browsing, perhaps a Photoshop, all of which I didn't see initializing in the video, so I don't consider that a valid demonstration. But yes, SSDs are, perhaps, the next wonder in computing. Very fast!

  • Dude read the description ffs..."right after the install of XP SP3". No shit there's no other programs to load. Read before making pointless comments...

  • OK. I got SSDs (Intel, not Samsung) booting my PC, here. It's not much different from what I saw in this video. I got (SP3, plus) DVD drive emulation software, anti-virus, anti-spyware, web server, DB server, MSN, mail client, no-break software, etc, etc, etc...

5 seconds to boot, compared to these +/- 3s (windows loading screen only, POST not considered)

    Yeah..they're FAST.

  • Yeah that is pretty awesome. SSD's are definitely the way to go these days but I'll be sticking with my 1TB WD Black's until the price goes down and capacity goes up significantly on the SSD's.

Also, why don't you post a video of your setup booting if you want to show a demonstration of real SSD power since this vid is seemingly not up to par?

  • You gave me an idea...I'll install a Windows XP, Vista or 7 in a virtual box and record it (it's easier than using my old cam); perhaps it'll be a better aproach, if I also install every "garbage" I have here, lol.

  • Hmm, no...I'd have to use my old cam anyways...VM images can be anywhere...

  • I wish my computer were that fast! xD

  • SSD is awesome! :D

  • Wow, that's fast,lol.

  • XD SSD's are the future

for once we can make Windows startup as fast as it should, simply having alot of RAM and a fast processor is not enough, hard disk drives have been the major performance bottleneck for years.

  • the white bar, i believe is, xp finishing the install of sp3, so cut another second off of this time

  • Nice. You should get two of them and out them on Raid 0.

    Epicness ensues.

  • my pc dont work so fast even with fresh os

  • my computer is faster, lol!

  • yeh, sure

  • Sorry... but i think for me is a bit slow this boot...

    It's tanking to much time...

  • I don't know if you are being sarcastic or not. But boot times also depends on what kind of system you have. Depending on what kind of motherboard you use, your start up time may vary.

  • lol

  • its a fresh install of course its gonna be fast

    but still ssd are fast

  • this is bs..... you did a clean reformat... i did a clean reformat and it boots up just as fast on a 7200 rpm hdd...

  • not as fast. trust me... this vid author should post one with programs in it to see how fast it still works. (note, the author mentions that he/she recorded this right after fresh installment....)

  • Mine takes 30-40 seconds to boot up XP,and about 1 min to boot up Windows 7.But it really doesnt compare to the 3 min that took my Pentium 1 133mhz to boot up windows 98!

  • so whats that?

i did this much faster with an bloody old notebook with 1,7 Ghz, 512 MB DDR-RAM and a 5400 rpm HDD by using Linux Gentoo...

fastest run-> 23 seconds from POST to KDE

    windows just lame

  • And now run Photoshop and Premiere. Oh yeah. Sorry, you can't have that in Linux :)

Linux is a toy for coders with no real software support. Which is sad.

  • i talked about BOOTING a system. which is also the topic of this video...

not running overpriced software by adobe.

btw: which support does windows have?

"If problems remain, contact your systemadministrator."

and why do i need softwareSupport when i know, how it is coded?

  • What I meant was there isn't much of a software catalogue available on any Linux distro. I've used both Ubuntu and Xubuntu, but they're only capable of IRC and web browsing. Linux is probably ok for netbooks and programmers, but for anything else... no.

  • google earth, office software, torrents, multimedia, downloading, VOIP. The only things that it cant do are games, and viruses wine is getting better all the time

  • Don't be stupid. Most Linux distributions offer automated installation of over 20.000 programs via their own package manager. The rest of the uncountable number of programs available for Linux you can install by hand.

If you need image manipulation you can use GIMP natively or Photoshop via Wine or Crossover, some of the other win API emulators or in a virtual windows installation.

  • 20 000 amateurish, usually unusable programs. Most of them are for engineers and coders, not for creative people. Which brings up the subject of GIMP, which is just hilariously bad.

And why run Photoshop through an emulator, when you can run it on native Windows or OS X?

  • he he u mnie w hacie też takn chodzi, porąbani ludzie którzy podziwiają taki start

  • It's booting from hibernation

  • No it isn't, you don't know what you are talking about

  • when booting from hibernation WindowsXP doesnt shows that loading screen.

  • I want one

  • SSD too expensive =(

  • Ohhhh no, ofc it will go that fast if you have a new comp and a fresh copy of windows XD

Try stacking up on crap on it and see how fast it goes. After like 2 months of using the comp, and it loads that fast, then it would be impressiv.

    (sorry for bad spelling XD)

  • well shit mine went that fast when I fresh installed it too lol... Ubuntu boots up twice as fast as that every single time lol!

  • omg , my pc took like 10mins to do that!

  • WTF :|

  • amazing...

  • That + MicroXP would be amazing

  • wow... on the XP loading screening, it barely did one swipe on the loading bar, usually a fresh install on the PC is 3 (3 and a half?) swipes...

  • it's a fresh installed windows, no antivirus no firewall and so on, usually fresh installed windows boots fast... but with an ssd it boots even faster.

  • omfg you dont have time to press the del button :D

  • lol... Wel what was that..

  • fuck me tahts fast, and ive just ordered one...

  • amazing

  • I want a ssd NOW! :)

  • Wow, it's really fast!
