Actually he put himself at a huge disadvantage backing up that far. You got a guy like michael coming at a full head of steam. The only thing he could have hoped to do in that scenario is guess which way he would go and try and draw a charge.

What about it? Kobe started at the 3 point line iirc (not ~37 feet out; pause it exactly at the one second mark and look where he is on the court -- that's waaaaay out), and it was nowhere near this fast. Great dunk, though.

That's the fastest you'll ever see someone get from 36-38 feet out to a dunk. He does it in under 2 seconds from basically a STANDSTILL, and he even had to change directions with his body and the dribble -- imagine if he didn't! Blinding speed.
