  • This talk is monumental and brought tears to my eyes.

  • the life of Ajahan Thero reflects his buddhist teachings. calm peacefull and filled with eternal happiness. may Dhamma (Teachings of Bhuddha) bless him

  • I'm guessing there was a technical glitch with the video?

    :-(

If it's available, I'd love to hear the end of the talk!

    Thank you!

  • what happened at the end? was cut off :(

  • nobody is free while being ruled at gunpoint by government

  • i love this mans talks, ive been listening to them on and off since i was 16, and it truely calming to watch and listen to this gentle mans teachings :)

  • 4 people think that it's so enjoyable to be sad.

  • you must be very fortunate if you can understand & appreciate this great mans talks. Much merrit to you for posting this viedo

  • why is the video truncated?

  • i like your channel a lot

  • I think there is a lot of wisdom in this talk. I am skeptical about some of the metaphysical doctrines of Buddhism that Ajahn Brahm teaches, but otherwise think he is insightful and compassionate and the world would be a better place if more people adopted his attitudes

  • Ajahn brahm is the closest thing to a spiritual leader I have. I watch his videos with some skepticism, but I am able to integrate a lot of what he says in to my life. Btw, meditation is wonderful, and you don't ave to be Buddhist for it to work. Though it will likely make Buddhism make more sense to you.

  • @Dansje why alot of skepticism? this guy is pretty much the real deal

  • I think Ajahn Brahm is brilliant, I love his talks and they have helped me through some of the most difficult and painful times in my life. I'm always telling people to listen to him speak as I believe everyone can learn something from him, I aspire to be as good a human being as he is! What a wonderful man, and Buddhism a wonderful faith.

  • I haven't seen the whole video yet, but I am just wondering about his comments on crying! I cry a lot, and it's usually the best I feel all day. I cried watching one of these videos last night and after wards felt more at peace than I have in a week. For me, crying happens when I let go, when I realize wonderful truths, when I meditate, and it feels wonderful. And if you catch me crying at a sappy movie it's out of compassion, which also feels wonderful. What's wrong with that?

  • The buddhists have the answer? Not necessarily, they have a left-leaning philosophy of life, thats all. To many people stuck in a right grind, the left seems like nirvana, and aware of this, leftist groups like the Catholics milk it for all its worth. The scientists tell us were all left or right-brained people -- well what about whole-brained? Our need is to be neither left nor right but whole, one. Unity is warmth and fullness, but broken unity is like a bed too short and a blanket too narrow.

  • I always believed that there should be courses in school of meditation and peace, for the child to how to act and how to control the mind and find the self. We would be creating valueble members of a community. Everything is connected, if the individual isn't happy the family isn't happy if the family isn't happy the society isn't happy and thus the world becomes in balanced out of indiviual unhappyness. We must learn this practice of peace and happyness.

  • Your videos help me so much! I love you all!

  • Good work Ajahn Brahm, he is the real inspiration for me.

  • You only make comments on what you think or what you think you have seen. It's nothing more than a reflection of your own image.

  • Thank you very much for uploading these videos.

  • Thanks Ajahn. :)

  • This is one the sixth video of Ajahn Brahm I am watching in last 2 days. They are so profound. Thanks for uploading them.

  • Watch what this virtuous and happy monk is doing. Thank you for keeping yourself so busy and making us happy!

  • the book he refers to by samuel butler is EREWHON, OR OVER THE RANGE

  • May he live long to inspire people with his wise sweet words and good humour!!

  • His tone is so smooth and calming.

  • If anyone who says that Ajahn Brahm lacks compassion and understanding should go personally for his talk and speak to him personally and you'll find how compassionate he is.But chances are you might not even have a chance to talk to him as he is always so busy giving talks all over the world. He gives talks after talks so tirelessly over the world so to make us happy and eventually realized the truth. How compassionate he is!. Thank You Ajahn Brahm.

  • This is one of the most beautiful talks I've ever heard. He's amazing. Wonderful!

  • What is the title of the book he mentioned 16.20 . I can't understand. Thanks for translation.

    Bhavatu sabba mangalam

  • If you let go a little, you will have a little peace. If you let gon a lot , you will have a lot of peace. If you let go completely, you will have complete peace. lol.

  • If we raise children to be gentle, compassionate and loving, they'll grow into gentle, compassionate and loving adults.

  • LOGGED INTO MEMORY: "They get to a certain place of happiness and peace and can't go any further; the main complain "I dont think I deserve to be so happy, at peace, enlightened." This is valuable, Thanks to you and those involved.

  • Thanks for great video:)

  • Does he say a curse word at 45:45? It sort of sounds like he is saying "ship" but I'm not sure... (It's irrelevant)Anyways, this was such a liberating message for me. Just wonderful.

  • He says shit. If you watch a different talk he gave, or it might be one of the audio only ones at w w w . b s w a . o r g, he tells the story about the farmer collecting shit instead of collecting the eggs. I suppose sometimes there is a need to swear to get a point across, emphasising the unpleasant nature of pooh instead of using a funny word, which would mask the point of the story.

  • Nanmo Amitabha!

  • I was in a fighting mood before i watched this, again and again the thought of smashing skulls into the ground came back to me and I relished it. Now I have let go of that rage entirely, and feel lighter, freer, happier.

  • Thanks for great video:)

  • Cheers, mate.
