This was great animation in its day. I grew up watching this series in Australia in the 60' and early 70's.Thor, iron Man etc and they have all changed to suit a modern audience (not a bad thing!)
REGARDING THE ANIMATION: This is actually the comic book The Avengers #4 (the exact same pages from 1963) made what is known as a motion comic, done cheaply, because well, Marvel wasn't a big corporation back in the 60s, it was more of a studio with a handful of artists and a couple of secretaries.
@kc86er Nope, the animation was done at Grantray-Lawrence's studio in Hollywood. comicgeek007 posted the end credits. Most of the same people who worked on the first season of the '67 Spidey cartoon.

@spikevalentine13: While the animation (and I use the term loosely) was derived from the comic book art. This wasn't an Marvel in house production. A Canadian animation studio Gantry-Lawrence produced the series. I vaguely remember seeing some of the show as a small child in the late 60's but it wasn't until the show reappeared in syndication in the late 70's early 80's that I actually watched it. "Motion Comics" is a fairly recent term. This was just bad animation back in the day.

Ok, the animation is crap by today's standards. We know this, but the story is all there.

So let me get this straight, to prove he's Captain America and introduce themselves as the Avengers:
1. Thor has Mjolnir generate lightning
2. Iron Man fires off repulsor rays
3. Giant Man grows
while underwater in a pressurized sub....Awesome.

Anime is a million times better than this. No wonder the Western cartoons had to change
