@JennifersTravels I see your point, but phasers are actually beam guns, eg, two people shoot one jedi from two directions: Jedi cannot block, instant crisper.

And the vid was meant for fun, not really good fuel a semi-subtle "lightsaber beats phaser" comment. (they don't, btw, phasers can do everything a lightsaber can, except block blasters, and the also come with VERY adjustable beam settings: intensity, width, stun, disintegrate, etc.)

@Cmdrscott1701 Light Sabers block most things, be it the massless blaster bolts to a Sith's Force Lightning, and there is no reason to think that they could not block a phase beam. And the fact that lasers lacks strength in Star Trek is because they never bothered to improve it any further, or so it appears. But blasters, lasers and turbolasers in Star Wars don't lack strength. That's why even point defense cannons can vapourize large asteroids in less than a second.

@Cmdrscott1701 atually Lightsabers are not made to block anything specific. It is a tool for a jedi to use to defend him/herself (Unless your a sith and use it to kick ass) A lightsaber is made out of a rare cyrstal that emitts high energy. The Crystal can cut through mostly anything once this energy is focosed through a lightsaber, and deflect/block anything in it's path. That means blasters, Force Lightning, your Trek Phazers, and mostly any type of projectile weapon.
