  • thumbs up for how camp this guy is!!!

  • the interviewer is a little too new-agy for me and besides, this clip is misleading because realization is not a doing. Listen to Adyashanti.

  • @claudelebel55 Yeah i know, he even sounds annoying in my opinion

  • this is absolute bullshit, he is just tossing around terms completely out of their context making up his retarded world view.

  • Or you could just use drugs...

  • I'll watch your video,Thanks, but the thing I wanted you to see was that science is not just dry facts and rejection of alternate ideas. It can give a person a larger feeling of being an integral part of our cosmos based on scientific discoveries of how we got here from the deep cosmological history of the universe. Many of us find that truly inspiring. We are (at least one way) the cosmos knows itself.

  • @coolgreyoneabby basically just spitting out straight from Richard dawkins. you dont even know anything about quantum physics, so where does your opinion fit in this anyway?

  • @pumitaproductions I studied physics in college and I could not avoid quantum if I wanted to. Chopra tries to sell the idea that metaphysics is spooky, counter intuitive and hard to understand. Quantum is spooky, counter intuitive and hard to understand therefore they must be related. They are not. Example: Chopra has tried to explain cosmic pseudo science through the Heisenberg principal, The H.P. only relates to measurements at the subatomic level, not in Newtonian physics.

  • @coolgreyoneabby that misses the point though, Deepak just uses quantum physics as a way of saying that there is now SCIENCE showing that consciousness plays some role in determining the perceived external - good, bad, whatever. his point was to emphasize the power of consciousness. arguing whether he used science correctly is just semantics - even if he was COMPLETELY wrong about science, it wouldn't invalidate his message. once you're enlightened, you will realize how irrelevant science is.

  • @pumitaproductions BS. He is completely wrong about science, so using scientific terms incorrectly is justified by you because science is irrelevant anyway? What? Of course consciousness plays a role in the PERCEIVED external. That is what conciseness is: Perception. That is about as insightful as "eyes play some role in seeing". Science is the greatest tool ever devised to understand the cosmos and it works. It is science, not new age Deepak Voodoo that cures polio, syphilis and rabies.

  • @coolgreyoneabby are you happy because of science? do you live every moment of your life overwhelmed with joy because of scientific advances that benefit your physical body? or are you trying to find a "reason" to be happy through knowledge and science? science creates problems at the same rate that it patches them up. that is a fact. science has done NOTHING to address the root cause of suffering in individuals.

  • @pumitaproductions Sorry, I don't buy it. Ignorance, death & starvation are root causes of suffering. Science has extended lifespans, learned to feed millions, cured diseases, sent man to the moon, wired the earth for instant communicate and developed modern medicine saving millions of lives. You live a life surrounded by science so much you do not even realize it. Like many religious belief systems, Deepak contributes nothing more than convoluted mythology for the gullible.

  • @coolgreyoneabby ignorance death and starvation are not the root causes of suffering, they are the symptoms of an unenlightened populace. if science somehow managed to make medication that makes you invincible, and never need to eat food, there would still be suffering so long as people are attached to their ego. "reason" and "science" barely solves anything when it comes to the happiness of individuals. you can be the smartest man on the planet and still cry yourself to sleep.

  • @coolgreyoneabby you have undoubtedly accumulated much knowledge over - what you think is - your life, but that doesnt mean you're any closer to the truth than anyone else. you're just another knowledge receptor, a conditioned human brain, in the universe. what deepak is trying to convey is that true intelligence comes from somewhere else, your core consciousness. from here, knowledge does not exist. consciousness is the only thing that is eternal. your thoughts, beliefs, ego, etc will all die.

  • @pumitaproductions More BS. What I THINK is my lifetime? I'm pretty sure I know how long I have been alive. True intelligence comes from a core consciousness that is somewhere else? Where is that? Knowledge does not exist? Why do you believe that?. When I die, I'm quite sure that my consciousness will die along with my beliefs and ego. And yes, I'm very happy with science. We are all made of star stuff. We are the way the cosmos knows itself.

  • @coolgreyoneabby your lifetime is a figment of imagination, that is a fact. so is mine. who you think you are, and the beliefs you hold, are all just an image you attach yourself to. that is a fact. when you realize that, you will realize that the only thing that makes you any different from anyone else is the way you think..

  • @coolgreyoneabby but those thoughts you have dont come from YOU, they come from your environment, ie the way you were raised. they belong to your brain. these thoughts fill the content of your conciousness and try to "hold" you... once you realize that, the ego dissolves.. life becomes a dance rather than a struggle.

  • @pumitaproductions First, stop saying things are fact that are only supposition on your part.. None of your "facts" are facts. Know the difference. Second, if you watch other videos of Chopra you will see that he claims that consciousness is a prerequisite to a physical reality. Again, BS. I have already enumerated how science keeps people alive. It is hard to be happy when you are starving, diseased or dead. Hard to dance too.

  • @coolgreyoneabby "Science" doesn't keep us alive. We were alive long before we knew much "science". Knowledge is useless. Knowledge is flawed. Everybody has different beliefs thus it is extremely improbable that anyone is right. I used to be an atheist. I used to laugh at these people just like you. Then I took some psilocybin and I saw the world from a completely different perspective. I realized how futile it was to depend on reason. I suggest you do the same. I will not respond to you anymore

  • @pumitaproductions Science has extended the lives of millions. Denial of that is simply delusional. Knowledge is not the same as a flawed belief system. Knowledge gained by science is useful to everyone regardless of religious belief systems, example: fertilizers to enhance food production & vaccines. It is flawed belief systems that are useless. Examples include religion, magic crystals, ESP, mushrooms enhancing enlightenment and Deepak Chopra teachings. The Psilocybin explains alot.

  • @coolgreyoneabby I have barely any doubt that science has extended lives of millions, but has science made them any happier? Take one glance at this society. Look at the faces of the people who've had their life "extended" from science as they walk down the street. Do they look happy? Or do they like worn out? Like chickens on anti-biotics in a chicken factory...

  • @coolgreyoneabby Deepak chopra's teachings aren't a "belief system". He isn't your Guru and he makes that very clear. His message is simply we all have beliefs, they all come from our conditioning, and realizing that we can leave prejudice and find truth. It's a very delicate matter and it needs to be explained carefully, if not people will misinterpret it as another "way of thinking". What he speaks transcends thought. His goal is to bypass your prejudices and enlighten you from within.

  • @pumitaproductions You were doing very well right up to the end, no argument in first half. Then it all went to hell in the last two sentences. What he speaks does not transcend thought. It barely makes it up to that level. If you would like to see what is factual and inspiring and a great example of science making someone happy along with me and may others, You tube search: Nell Degrass Tyson best sermon. WATCH THE WHOLE THING. Best part is to the end. His ideas are truly inspirational.

  • @coolgreyoneabby That's what happens when don't listen. You judge everything, you objectify it and turn it INTO thought. you need to look past the words and dive into the meaning, what the words REFER to. if i were to tell you "there is something that transcends thought" and you go through a thought process and come out with the answer "no." not only are you thinking about it, thus turning it into thought, you're not even giving it a chance.

  • @coolgreyoneabby I will watch the video you sent me to the end and I will listen without prejudice. Will you do the same for a video called: "Eckhart Tolle - The Deepest Truth in Human Existance". It's on Google Video.

  • @coolgreyoneabby Oops I thought you sent me a documentary or something. If you don't have time to watch what I sent you (its 1.5hr) , then utube "stroke of insight" and watch the 20 minute one. I found that video you sent me to be fascinating. I find the feeling of connectedness with the universe he talks about isn't science. Notice how it's purely subjective. A scientist can live his whole life learning about these things and never get that feeling - which IS spiritual -deeper than science.

  • Cool videos, thanks for making them.
