@Alargator Why do some people need to down others because they need to feel like they are a part of something bigger than them, via religion, science, or both...? Why can't some people learn to accept that everyone has their own opinions and that is what makes them... them? Why can't some people grow up?

Hey, all the bronies that are finding these videos. Good on you! I'm a brony myself and am very happy to see bronies finding vlogbrothers videos. Anyway, just a protip here, if you liked this video, be sure to check out the other channels these guys run. They run two other channels, the first is the vlogbrothers, which is regular (though super nerdy and awesome) video vlogs. The second channel is SciShow, which discusses recent science news. Hope that helped you all out. Keep calm and brony on.
no Hank im not here cause i wanted to learn about Biology.....i was watch pony videos and yours was just there and if i've learned anything on youtube its that when the related videos have a video with something unrelated you fking click it!
@CelestialBrony You too? Hmm, it seems as though by this logic, we could get away with turning the comments section into a massive pony thread. Who's with me?
@FenrirEx2 Fellow brony here who knew about these guys before I noticed the link from a pony video. If you like this stuff, you should probably check out there main channel, the vlogbrothers which is vlogs with this guy, and his brother, who is a New York Times bestselling author. You should also check out SciShow, which is also run by this guy, and covers more modern science news rather than learning standard curriculum like this is.
Wow, this video is incredible! You made it so easy to understand - I'm definitely passing these videos along and watching them myself. I took an Intro to Chemistry course in college, and a physical science course, as well as engineering courses, but haven't worked on biology or physics yet.
@ghandiwon How can there be a debate over microbes that were captured and their DNA was studied? I know you're the messenger I just don't understand. It's like being told I know that chocolate comes from cocoa beans but there's still a debate on it. Just like how could our own genetic history be questioned when the human genome project showed all there is we needed to know about us being related to chimps.
@andorlik In my school it stops being called science after middle school (ends at age 13-14) then we break into different subjects of science (Chem, Physics, Biology, optional Anatomy). Before that it was just basics on plant life, meteorology, the rock cycle, etc.
Of course, if you're a chemist, you tend to argue that Biology is the less complex subject, when compared to our field... but that's just departmental bias. :P
Honestly this was great stuff. My school is not renowned for its science department, and my science teacher taught me a contradiction to this video: that ionic bonds are in fact stronger than covalent bonds, as a general rule; could you maybe explain why they aren't?
@Atree0 No bond is ever fully ionic. A bond is called ionic if the difference in electronegativity is above a certain point. Lets take an ionic bond like NaCl. Put simply, the Sodium wants to lose its one electron, to satisfy the octet rule. The Chlorine wants to gain an electron to do the same. The Chlorine will "dominate" the Sodium taking its electron, while in a covalent bond the atoms are sharing electrons.
Of course, the strength of bonds relies heavily on the conditions.
@terracrush1234 crash courses are for reviewing, learning. Without the context of what you've learned in classes very little of this would make any sense all.
