I didnt know what it was too. its just what you say, but the curiosity is that it is only 64k and its a .exe . its one of the hardest programming types. Search Demoscene in wikipedia & google and youll find more
yeh that is pretty much it lol, it's a contest(usually or just done for the hell of it) to show off an team of artists skills with animation and music:) thus why there called demo scenes. hope that explains it a lil
@Xanatos712 A demo is a non-interactive multimedia presentation made within the computer subculture known as the demoscene. Demogroups create demos to demonstrate their abilities in programming, music, drawing, and 3D modeling. The key difference between a classical animation and a demo is that the display of a demo is computed in real time, making computing power considerations the biggest challenge - and the size restriction of 64kb. - By: Wikipedia
@TheInfinite91 As cyborgtroy sad, learning programming in general takes at least a year to get a good flow in your programming.
Then it will take you at least a year to tweek all your knowlage to the fullest and even then, maby.. just maby you'll be able to do something remotely close to this.
I'd say learning everything from 0 - 100%, you're looking at at least 5-10 years of programming. Especially if you're not used to it. 64k is hard to reach in "application world", and 3D programming etc.
I love demoscenes. I understand that they are made purely from code, but there are some things I'm oblivious to. What kind of coding language is it? Do you only use one, or are there a few? And what do you type the code into? Surely not visual basic or anything like that. Notepad and then some 3rd party program? I have no clue. Care to enlighten me?
who are they?

wait, so I'm just assuming, but is a fraps'd production file of this recording, actually much larger than 64kb ? Lol!! BRILLIANT! I am intrigued

This is pretty amazing, but I'm still confused as to what a 'demo' actually is. Is it just a cool animation accompanied by music?
Sorry if I sound like a complete idiot.

@jamsand3 They are just called demos, and scene refers to a group of people I think - not the actual scene in the demo.

I love the sound of saturated music, NOT! This would be better 85% better if you turned down your recording volume level by about 10%.

How would you like the sound of me saturating the shit out of your ass?

Can anyone tell me how long it would take to do this? A week? A month?
TheInfinite91 2 years ago
probably a few months
inzepinz 2 years ago 2
@TheInfinite91: Probably weeks, but it would take years to get all the computer knowledge.

This was written in asembler and the actual file size is only 64Kb. this is what real-time rendering can do
and this was made in 2006

@mussieskater Are you sure that this was written entirely in assembler? I highly doubt it, as 64k is plenty of room - even 2006.

Maybe if it wasn't a bunch of random objects floating around, wasn't filled with crappy music, and made sense, it would've been good.
